Karen was so nice and gave us very accurate information on hiking areas nearby. It was also easy to check in. The cabin was cute and clean. We spent a lot of time by the fireplace while enjoying the view of the lake. The kitchen was fully stacked. Was even provided fresh water, coal for the grill, and firewood for the pit. We would definitely stay again.
A north woods cabin located on a quiet and remote lake? Yes, please! Clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Games, blankets and a fireplace add to the cozy feel. Host communication was prompt and helpful.
Lovely spacious cabin providing a nice retreat away from the elements. We biked on the Mesabi trail and it was close enough to be convenient, only downside was the voracious mosquitos which prevented us from spending much time by the lake.
From the detailed listing, the communication from the owner, to the stay at the home, EVERYTHING was perfect! The house and setting was so beautiful. We will definitely be back!
The location is perfect. The cabin is absolutely beautiful! We absolutely loved our weekend and will definitely book again. Thank you for a fantastic weekend!!
The cabin is very comfortable and well appointed. The setting by the lake is lovely and we enjoyed a bug free evening by the firepit! The weekend we were there (late august), the potable water had a very strong smell to it that was hard to ignore even a while after showering. Fortunately, the fridge had two gallons of fresh water for coffee and drinking. You might want to bring more water if you plan on cooking or using more.
My family and I loved staying here. The cabin was clean, cozy and welcoming. There was no tv or WiFi, but that ended up being okay. Sometimes it’s good to unplug—and force the kids to do the same. Would definitely stay here again!
This was our 4th year staying at the Bensons'. It has turned into a treasured family tradition. We live only about 40 minutes away but don't have a lake property in the family. Our annual week on Clearwater allows us to do all of the classic Minnesota summer things - rowing, paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, and campfires, plus the convenience of home! So grateful you're willing to share your place with us!
Perfect for our long weekend of snowshoeing and book reading by the fireplace. Property is exactly as portrayed in description and photographs. Comfortable!
We had a great time. The cabin heated up and was toasty warm. We enjoyed the campfire. All the amenities were very nice to have! We brought our own drinking water. The location is close enough to Hibbing and Side Lake where there is plenty to do. Highly recommend!
We loved this property and our time there. It was quiet, peaceful and serene. There were lots of things to do nearby. The Side Lake store (recommended by the owners) had great ice cream! The owners were very accessible and helped us navigate a medical emergency well. My kids were able to catch lots of fish, (thank you for the row boat) and had so much fun swimming. The neighbors were quiet.
My husband and I took our two teens for a northern getaway, and this cabin was absolutely perfect. We loved sitting by the lake, using the paddle board, relaxing in the hammocks, swimming, and making campfires each evening. Communication was always easy and we got almost immediate responses to all of our inquiries. If we didn’t live so far away, we’d come back often! Thank you so much for a magical MN time away! Also, we loved watching the resident lake loons. They are wonderful.
Most tastefully decorated property I've seen in the area. Very nice furnishings. Lodge without being overt and tacky. Sandy beach. Paddleboard was hours of entertainment (first time for 9 y/o daughter and myself)! Enjoyed the row boat a lot, also. Good tv options for rainy days in addition to board games. Proximity to Side Lake dining, McCarthy, etc. We are Iron Rangers without lake property so rent a cabin for a week each year - I am booking next year now!
