The space:
The modern northwest style cabin has a beautiful view of majestic cedar trees and picturesque landscaping. Immerse in nature while enjoying all the amenities. You can escape from the hustle and relax in this calming setting.

Summary:
Picturesque grounds and trails surrounding this NW custom architectural cabin. A Monitor Barn style home built with reclaimed materials and with timber frame accents. The layout has a great room concept with soaring ceilings. Over 3,600 sf, 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Large patio & covered deck for soaking in the trees and sunshine. The perfect getaway in a peaceful setting. Come unwind, reconnect with nature, and enjoy easy access too all the goodness of the Northwest.

Guest access:
The Lake Samish Cabin is set in the trees, adjacent to Lake Samish. We do not have lake access but we do have several public access options to the lake within minutes from our house, where you can kayak, paddle board, swim, etc. The Lake Cabin Loft is also located on the property. We will give you your privacy and space, but you may see us coming and going.

The neighborhood:
This cabin is nestled in South Bellingham in the mountains & forest of Lake Samish at the end of a private drive. (10 min to downtown). The house does not have lake access, but is 3 min to Lake Samish Park, a public beach or 5 min to Lake Padden Park.

Getting around:
You are close to all Bellingham has to offer in a central location within (Fairhaven, Downtown, Lake Samish, Galbraith, Samish Lookout, Larabee State Park, Oyster Dome, Edison, etc) A car is required to get around for sure!

NO Lake ACCESS at the Cabin.

The cabin is a 3-minute drive to lake access: 1)The Lake Samish Public Boat Launch or 2) Lake Samish Park. 3) Lake Padden Park (5min)

1) Bedroom 1: Downstairs Master Suite: new king size bed, private full bath - soaking tub & double shower
2)Bedroom 2: Downstairs Flex Room: comfortable queen sofa bed/TV room (uses downstairs bath)
3) Bedroom 3: Upstairs Queen Suite: new queen memory foam bed with private bath - full bathtub & shower
4) Bedroom 4: Upstairs Flex room: two twin beds - one twin converts to a King bed (please request king and we will have it ready) can sleep up to 3 people in this room
5) Upstairs loft area: sectional sofa - can make into a twin - sleeps 1 (please request bedding)

We do have a black and white cat “Daisy” who lives on the property. You may see her around, ok to pet her, she is very friendly.

Perfect

Ten people; three generations- all enjoyed the space. A lovely gathering location with room to be together and also areas to sit quietly. Will be back to stay.

Paradise found

We came to Bellingham to do some mountain biking and hiking. Bellingham is a wonderful destination for all things outdoors but this home is absolutely paradise. It is beautiful with plenty of space. The yard was beautiful. There are great places to lounge and the hot tub and sauna were the cherry on top. The inside was spacious and clean and was perfect for our family to gather. The bedrooms were comfortable.

This is a beautiful home, suitable for a weekend family getaway.The bedding and kitchen towels weren't organized or clean, so that was difficult. The kitchen was well-stocked and furnished for big meals.Thete is a large open area for visiting and socializing. The listing was a bit misleading about the bed/sleeping capacity. The king bedroom upstairs is only available if the trundle is pulled out and the mattresses separated. So it hecomes a king with a twin in that room.The lower level hude-a-bed didnt have enough bedding. Again, it wasn't folded and ready to go. Same wirh the king/ twin room.The owner, Amy, us very responsive and communicated promptly. We had 4 couples, a 3 year old and a baby.Everyone slept well abd comfortably.

Great home, location and hosts

The location is serene, the house is beautiful and the hosts are so kind and responsive. We felt right at home and had a great time. We will definitely come again if our travels bring us back to Bellingham!

Wonderful home, great stay

We rented both the loft and large home at Amy’s property. We loved the house - especially the wonderful kitchen and outdoor areas. The space is spacious and well equipped - we truly enjoyed our time! Amy was super easy to communicate with - our only complaint was about the VRBO app, which made loading messages, house rules, and other information difficult. The app is SO glitchy that it makes it easy to miss things! All in all, we were very pleased and would highly recommend this home!

Great house, great location.

We had a wonderful time at the Lake Samish Cabin. We were in town for my son's graduation from WWU and the location was perfect. We were able to spend a day in San Juan Islands and drive to Northern Cascades Nat'l Park for a day. The house was spacious enough for the 7 of us and we made good use of the kitchen. Communication with Amy couldn't have been easier. We'd definitely stay again. :)

Even better than expected!

We rented this beautiful home with a group of friends to go mountain biking in Bellingham for Labor Day weekend. Amy was really easy to communicate with, and was responsive when we had any changes to our trip. When we arrived, the house looked even more beautiful than it looked in the photos. Very modern and spacious! The hosts live right next-door in an ADU, but we felt very comfortable and at home. We loved the ample rooms and bathrooms, and loved the soaps that were provided. The kitchen/dining room area was perfect for socializing, and at night, the bedrooms seemed soundproof. We had a toddler and baby with us, and they were able to go to bed early and were not woken up by any socializing or music in common areas by the adults that stayed up late. The pull out beds were a bit on the firm side, but still fairly comfortable. The rooms with the queen and king beds were the most comfortable. We really enjoyed the black and white cat, Daisy, who came in to hang out with us. She was so sweet. We loved our stay, and highly recommend this home!

Great house!

Our group of 10 enjoyed a very comfortable and quiet week at the property. The house has a lot of open space for visiting, a well appointed kitchen and plenty of sleeping choices. The location is just off I-5 and only about 10 minutes south of Bellingham. The house was very clean on arrival.

Make-up 99th birthday

What a lovely home with such a great ambiance! We were there to celebrate a missed 99th birthday and our mixed-ages group just really enjoyed the cool architecture and openness, and though there is no view (not on nor in sight of lake), the exterior gardens were lovely. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was great and even had an air fryer. The MBR could use a little more furniture like a chair and chest (or luggage racks) but bed was great. It's a quick drive to stores and Bellingham restaurants. All in all the place is wonderful. We'll be back! Note: The owners were on the property but we never saw nor heard them and we felt very private!

Gorgeous Home in the woods

Most incredible VRBO we have stayed in. Large open floor-plan. Nice contemporary style with warm touches Confirtable beds and all the amenities you need. Fully stocked high end kitchen items. Private garden with kush landscape

The best 90th birthday stayaway for our family

We have been meeting up with family from PA, MA, CT, CA, and WA yearly for my mother's birthday (except last/Covid year) and this was the best vacation and 90th birthday celebration for our precious Mum. All top-of-the-line appliances; comfortable and tastefully decorated bed/bath-rooms, spacious lounges designed artfully as a true custom Northwest home (with reclaimed timber!!!); the kitchen, which our foodie family used on a daily basis to prepare gourmet meals; whole foods, taylor shellfish farm, seafood places close by,.... etc. Can't ask for more! We had the best time and made many new memories. Amy and her family are lovely and we will certainly plan to be back, perhaps for a board retreat for my work, etc. Thanks so much!

We've always loved Bellingham and fell in love with this home and its peaceful setting! We hope that our guests come and get refreshed and use it as a basecamp to enjoy the natural surroundings and getting a chance to connect with friends/family and enjoy all Bellingham, Baker and the surrounding areas has to offer. We can't believe that we can be at the ocean, lake or mountains within a short drive.

We love the large fireplace, architecture and rustic wood accents while enjoying all the modern amenities. The large cedars surrounding the property as well as the peekaboo mountain views giving this property its peace and charm.
