Soul Surfing II-Home completed in August 2020. Property includes a private beach area located on the bay with a fantastic view of the Gulf of Mexico from the front porch area. Access to gulf side beach area can be accessed by a short walk across the non busy street. Located in the town of Dauphin Island also known as the Sunset Capital of Alabama. Gorgeous split floor plan with beautiful views of the water from the living/dining/and kitchen areas. Sleeps 13 comfortably. 5 large bedrooms and 3 full baths. Fully equipped with many extras including all kitchen appliances, linens, towels, Keurig, and outdoor grill. Bedrooms 2 and 3 include two king sized beds and have private entrance and exits through French doors that open to the spacious back porch. The bedrooms and back porch area have some of the best views of the spectacular sunsets on Dauphin Island. Bedroom 1 includes another king sized bed with a gulf view. Bedroom 4 contains two sets of twin sized bunk beds which are perfect for the kids. Bedroom 5 includes a full and twin sized bunk bed with old school style Pac Man and Marvel Avengers Super Hero arcade games. All bedrooms and living area have Smart TV's. WiFi is included. Home has high chair and playpen for smaller children. Please be advised of the following information prior to placing a Reservation: Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 23. Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay. Maximum Occupancy numbers include children and cannot be exceeded at any time. All of our homes are Non-Smoking and Pet Friendly with a paid pet fee.

A lovely home in a beautiful location! Exactly as advertised, plenty of space inside, and 2 great porches outside. The 5 grandchildren had space for board games and also enjoyed the arcade games. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. All the appliances worked well. Everyone raved about how it was a perfect place for our multi family vacation!

This is our 3rd stay at the house and it is amazing every time. We love the view and the ability to just walk off the back deck to the beach. As long as this place is available we will continue to stay here.

Worth every penny!

My family of 7 and our dog stayed in this beautiful house, and from the moment we walked in, we loved this home. It is not only beautiful but very comfortable and accomodating. It had everything we needed although we did have to buy paper products for our 6 day stay. We spent lots of time on the private beach and on the back deck. I would highly recommend this house and would definitely stay here again!

Spring break getaway

We enjoyed the location of this house and its proximity to both the bay and the ocean. When the wind kicked up on one side, the other was great! We comfortably slept 9 family members of various ages and made many of our meals at the house. Recommended for future travelers: bring your own beach towels and some hand towels as well as a throw blanket for cozying up!

Such a great vacation!

This group of ten adults and 2 kids (5 & 1.5 years) had such a wonderful time. This home's location is perfect to view both the sound and the gulf. The home was spacious and comfortable. It was even better than the pictures! The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. We hope to come back again! HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!

Amazing Views

My husband, our dog, and I truly enjoyed our stay at Soul Surfing in September. We watched the sunset on one side and the full moon rise on the other from the private beach. I also enjoyed the sunrises from the back balcony. We used the map and island information for planning our adventures each day and the outdoor chairs on both balconies and the private beach. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We also enjoyed playing PacMan after dark! We saw a fox, dolphins, and lots of birds. It was an amazing vacation!!

The Perfect Getaway

We loved the community, the home was beautiful, amenities were pretty great! The only thing I’d say is that the dishes were a bit short if you had a bigger group but we grabbed some paper products and all was wonderful! We loved having the water on both sides! It was sooooo nice having the sunrise and sunset over the water, too! We will absolutely come back! No complaints from 4 years to 68 years! Thank you for such incredible memories! Highly recommend!

Review

The home itself was beautiful and close to the public beach. The downfalls were that the beds were extremely uncomfortable (to the point where people slept on the couch instead of bed) and the home wasn’t cleaned well. The floors were not swept or mopped, underneath the beds were disgusting, and there was a lot of hair (dog and women’s)/dirt in the corners of each room.

Amazing Family Vacation

Great family vacation with our five adult children, spouses, grandchildren, and fur babies! We had twelve people and five dogs. Layout of the house was perfect for our stay. Never felt crowded. Everyone had their own bed and private space. The back porch is in the shade all day and was perfect for hanging out. The dogs loved it! The private beach area on the back was perfect for our family and dogs. The location was perfect. A true relaxing low key family vacation. We made memories we will cherish for a lifetime! Highly recommend this wonderful home for a great vacation. Will definitely be back!!

Nice Stay

House was nice, lots of room, great set up for a group of ten. Beautiful views of the water and easy beach access. House had very minimal paper and cleaning products though. We had to go out and buy TP, trash bags, etc. House didn’t feel super clean either, some of the bedding covers didn’t seem recently washed, even found clothes from a previous guest stuffed behind the couch cushions. The refrigerator water filter probably needs to be changed, it was a slow drip of filtered water. May need to attach a filter to the sink tap, the tap water tasted pretty strongly like chlorine. All in all though a nice place with lots of room for a big group, solid beach house.

Absolutely stunning and clean!

This beach house looks like an HGTV property. It's gorgeous and immaculate. Even though pets are allowed, we didn't see any signs that pets had been there, and our dog didn't seem to smell any other animals. It's a large space without feeling too big - great layout, design, and colors. Right outside the back porch is the beach on the bay side. We found tons of shells and hermit crabs. You can also walk across the street on the front side of the house to go to the gulf beach. The waves are much bigger on that side. A 10-minute walk down the road is the west end public beach that stretches for miles with gorgeous open sunsets. Some things to pack: Hand soap, dish cloth, kitchen sponge, kitchen towels (one thin towel provided), dish soap (small amount provided), can opener (the one there is broken), measuring cups and spoons (missing some key ones for recipes), coffee filters, beach towels, laundry detergent (single load provided), hair conditioner, bath soap or body wash. The hosts answered our questions well. We loved our stay and highly recommend this lovely beach house!

Our new place to stay

We have been coming to DI for many years and staying at another property on the island. Needless to say we have a new place we will be staying at from now on. The views are breath taking every morning and night. My wife loved how close she was to the water on either side of the house. Our dogs loved the big back deck to lay on and relax. We can’t wait to come back again!!

No restaurants

The house overall was very nice. It does have 24 steps to get upstairs to the living area and was rather difficult to get all of our belongings upstairs . There were very few restaurants and the ones that were open were not open every day. When we to on vacation, I do not plan on cooking every day. The worst things about the house was the linens. It looked like they had years and years of use. Very thin. All the other homes we have rented have had linens as nice or better than the ones we have in our home. The internet is so sketchy we had a hard time with Netflix and other programs. We left two days early and have never done that on a beach vacation. Very disappointed overall.

Peace and quiet

Nice clean modern property. Easy access to bay and ocean which was perfect for the little ones - big waves just play on the bay beach till it calmed a bit. Big deck both sides lets you choose sunny, shady, windy, etc. Owner has plenty of plastic adarondack chairs and water toys to take to the water. Deep property gives privacy. Could use a bedding mattress update, otherwise perfect.

Beautiful house and steps from the beach!

Loved this house so much! Wide open floor plan and wonderful back porch to relax on. One recommendation: might bring your own bath towels as well. They have them but they were seeing their last days I think.
