About the host
Hosted by Knight
My husband I live full-time in Franklin, Tenn., just outside Nashville. Dauphin Island is our home away from home and our Alabama roots run deep. Matt's cousins live on Dauphin Island or just over the bridge. My family has been in the Lake Martin/Auburn/Montgomery area for at least six generations.
Why they chose this property
We are located in The Pines area, which is walkable or bike-able distance from the Audubon Bird Sanctuary, Native American Shell Mounds, West End and East End public beaches, Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Aquarium, restaurants and other attractions. It's quiet, peaceful and a retreat in the middle of an untamed natural escape.
Honor Bar: Feel free to enjoy what's there. Please replace for the next guests.
Art: Paintings and pottery featured in home were created by artists from Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia. Many of these artists' works can be found at Sophiella Gallery in Mobile.
Island Cats: The island has a healthy cat population, including several that live on our street. Please drive carefully to avoid injuring any of them, as these are well-loved kitties.
Property Management: Our cousins Erin and Brandon help manage our property. They live nearby and are available in an emergency. Please reach out to us through the app and we will connect you to them. (Fun Fact: Erin is among the artists featured in our home.)
What makes this property unique
Dauphin Island is one of the Gulf Coast's most beautiful hidden treasures. It's a small barrier island largely undeveloped and untamed. It's incredibly peaceful out here. If you are a nature lover, you will love Dauphin Island.
