Great host, great house, quiet getaway!
Jessica is a fantastic host! We booked our trip during shutdown and chose the off-the-beaten-path location not knowing what the state of the pandemic would be at the time of our travel. Our young adult children were concerned about the remote location, but Jessica sent me a list of things to do in the surrounding area and helped put their minds at ease.
We arrived to find a clean house that was fully stocked with everything you’d expect to find in a vacation rental and so much more. The host has definitely taken great care to make sure their guests have a great stay! The wagon came in so handy for taking supplies on the short walk to the beach, and we loved rinsing off in the outdoor shower before entering the house.
The one downfall to the property for our family, which is completely outside of the control of the property owner, is that the beach at that location is not what we’d hoped. The water is brown, shallow as far as you would dare to walk, and there were no waves to play in. With that said, the sand was clean and white, wildlife was abundant, and we practically had the beach to ourselves most of the time. The shallow, calm water also made it easy to take our kayaks out, which we wouldn’t have been able to do in the more active beaches we are accustomed to.
All in all, we had a great stay at the Pelican Perch and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet stay near the beach!
