About this property

Black Bear Meadows - only 22 miles to West Yellowstone!

Black Bear Meadows is your ultimate destination for year-round recreation and fun and is the ideal place for your Island Park/Yellowstone National Park adventure getaway. You will love the year-round access to world class recreation right out the front door. If "adventure" is not your thing and you just want to relax, Black Bear Meadows will not disappoint. Whether you choose to sit inside in the winter and watch the snowfall through our huge picture window looking at the meadow or relax around the campfire and stargaze. This well-appointed cabin offers something for everyone. There is nothing quite like making lasting memories with family and friends in a beautiful mountain setting.

Our guests love the close proximity (scenic 25 minute drive) to YELLOWSTONE and spend their days exploring. In the evenings return to the calm, private view from the covered back porch as you cook on the grill or around the fire pit.

Black Bear Meadows offers countless opportunities for world class recreation right out the front door. Winter is amazing at the cabin (especially if you LOVE snow). Whether you choose to snowmobile, cross country ski or snow shoe, winter is an amazing time to stay.

For our summertime guests, you can leave right from the driveway and connect with the famous Island Park Trail system and ride countless trails on ATVs or mountain bikes. A popular ride is the scenic old rail line in to West Yellowstone (approx 20 miles). There is a shop that rents mountain bikes, ATVs and canoes/paddle boards located less than a mile from the cabin.

If you need time to relax and rejuvenate from all of your "adventures" you will love the serene and peaceful 180 degree views off the back covered porch of the meadow and Two Top. Fire up the BBQ grill and eat your meals seated at the table on the back porch. Be sure to use our roasting sticks and roast a marshmallow or two in the fire pit as it becomes night falls and bring your telescope to star gaze at the wide open sky.

The inside of the cabin has an inviting, bright and welcoming feel. Upon entering the front foyer you will immediately find yourself drawn to the large picture window with an unobstructed view of the meadow and Two Top. The main floor great room has comfortable leather couches and a 75" TV. Gorgeous pine tongue and groove ceilings are throughout the whole cabin bringing a little of the outdoors in. The great room also includes a dining room with a large rectangular table. The kitchen is roomy and well stocked with ample space to gather and prepare meals. The beautiful granite countertops and large peninsula offers plenty of counter space for meal prep. From the dining room, french doors lead you to the covered porch which share the same amazing views. You will appreciate the convenience of a half bath off the front foyer.

Black Bear Meadows cabin boasts 3 cozy bedrooms. The large master is on the main floor and again shares the unobstructed view of the meadow. It's the only bedroom on the main floor thus providing privacy and quiet for guests sleeping there. The master has an attached bathroom with dual sinks, a jetted tub and separate shower.

Once upstairs you will find yourself in the spacious loft which is open to the main floor. At one end of the loft area is a bedroom and full-bathroom. At the opposite end of the loft area is a large "second" gathering space with comfy sectional and TV/DVD and the 3rd bedroom. In the upstairs loft area there are a couple great separate spaces which have bunkbeds for additional room to hang-out and sleep. The cabin comfortably sleeps a maximum of 13 people.

You'll be in close proximity to the golf course, playground, and a gentle hill for winter sledding. The clubhouse amenities include a pro-shop, 9 hole golf course and driving range. (Fees for use of resort facilities are an additional charge)

You'll be just a quick 25 minute drive to West Yellowstone, Montana and the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is also 75 miles from Grand Teton National Park making an easy day trip. Blue ribbon fly fishing, boat fishing on Henry's Lake, Island Park reservoir or Hebgon Lake, MT. Hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails right out the front door. Scenic sights include; Harriman State Park, Mesa Falls, Big Springs, Johnny Sack's cabin, Sawtell Mt., Quake Lake and Ennis Montana. Stroll the quaint town of West Yellowstone for shopping, great food and the Playmill Playhouse for amazing live theatre. Cabin sits on the edge of spectacular Henry's lake Flats with view of the Idaho/Montana mountains.

Conveniently located in Island Park Village with easy and quick access to HWY 20 and Island Park's only grocery store.

Cozy, spacious home!

We enjoyed this house as a "base camp" for visiting Yellowstone. It was perfect! There is a great little grocery store just up the road that has everything you need while staying here. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property!

Great Cabin with a View

We had a great stay in Idaho Falls. The cabin was clean and well stocked. And what can I say about the view??? We had a slight issue with the washer, but Sherie did everything she could to fix it and help us out. Would love to stay there again.

Amazing Cabin

We had a great time at this cabin. The cabin had everything we needed. The kids loved all of the room upstairs so they could have their own space. We had amazing views out the back. We really enjoyed the Island Park area. We rented UTVs one day and road through several trails. Its about a half hour from the west entrance of Yellowstone. We would stay here again. Thanks!

Awesome adventure

We fully enjoyed our stay for 4 nights at the beautiful home in Island Park. Beds are comfy, home was super clean, easy drive to Yellowstone, and our favorite, Mr Fox came running by a few times a day. The primary bedroom has a ton of space to layout your luggage and the upstairs has several options for sleeping arrangements. We enjoyed one long morning by the fireplace and even had a wonderful surprise of SNOW in June. As Floridians, we loved it. Huge TV, large picturesque windows, and of course, wildlife watching over the field. We would definitely stay here again.

The best of both worlds!

We loved our stay in Island Park! The house was perfect for our group of 10 ranging from 6 to 64. It was the perfect retreat each day from the crowds and traffic in Yellowstone. We did all the major stops in Yellowstone, as well as Grand Tetons. The extra 25 minutes to the house was well worth it to enjoy the space and beauty of the backyard where we saw lots of animals(pronghorn, Elk, moose+baby, fox, coyotes) Plus, the mules ear went into bloom and it was beautiful! Best communication and most well stocked VRBO I’ve stayed in.(Toilet paper, paper towels, Dish soap, trashbags, toiletries, detergent, bear spray, cooler) Literally the best!

Fantastic views

We returned from our stay at Black Bear and had a great experience. The place was roomy enough for 5 kids and 4 adults. The pictures depicted exactly what to expect. The toiletries and kitchen stuff were very welcome. The fire pit was a great touch for the kids to enjoy at the end of the long day in the park. The views- I cannot say how many amazing sunsets we saw but wow! Bring your binoculars for wildlife spotting as well- the kids were able to see a bear way off in the distance. Would stay here again. While it is 25-ish minutes from West Yellowstone- it made for a great way to end the day and watch the sunrise and sunset.

Perfect for a family stay!

This cabin was perfect for our family of 10. There were plenty of spaces for all of us to sleep comfortably. The home looks exactly as you see it pictured. Amazing window view of the mountains. Although it is in a neighborhood, you still felt secluded from neighbors in the backyard. Only a 20 minute drive from Yellowstone. A descent grocery store and gas station nearby to get essentials if needed. The only downfall was us Texans not used to a home without AC. The first night was too hot, but once we learned to leave the windows and doors open starting in the afternoon, it would be cool enough for a good night's sleep. Overall, I would totally recommend and stay here again.

Amazing View and Lots of Space

This property was a great place for people that are wanting to explore Yellowstone National Park and keep your costs down compared to some of the places closer to the Entrance. It was only a short 20-25 minute drive to get to the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.We had a great time exploring the park but it was such a bonus to be able to come back to this property and unwind and enjoy the amazing views. We loved everything about the house including the decor, the spaciouness, very workable kitchen, the large TV, and just the overall set-up. It was perfect for families with teenagers as well as for little ones as they had their own hang-out area upstairs. We all agreed that we definitely want to come back and rent this place again possibly in the winter. We loved it so much we wish we could buy it!

Wonderful vacation

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The property was absolutely beautiful, and we couldn’t get enough of the view! We’ve rented a lot of VRBOs in the past, and I will say that this is the most well-stocked one that we have ever stayed in. Only 25 min from Yellowstone entrance with grocery store close by. Highly recommend, would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This home was great for our stay to visit Yellowstone. The house is great and is well stocked with TP, Paper towels, shampoo and soap. Great open design. Great view of the mountains from the back deck. Everything was wonderful for our stay. I can only say positive things about our stay there. Yellowstone get away

From start to finish the process of utilizing this property went as advertised. The location to West Yellowstone was about as good as it gets for us. We had eight people total. For adults and four teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16. Everyone had their own space and the house was stocked with everything that we needed. The property itself was magnificent and well stocked and clean. The only issue we experienced was that the property’s Wi-Fi was not working. Even though we were on vacation a few of us required Wi-Fi to check in with work and or do some work. Upon check-in Sunday night we did communicate with host to try and figure out the Wi-Fi. We were informed the Wi-Fi router was down and would be repaired on Tuesday. As of check out on Thursday the Wi-Fi had not been repaired. Not necessarily a dealbreaker but again a few of us had to find other options to get some work done. For the record, one of the requirements we had for booking a property was to make sure the property had Wi-Fi so we were disappointed that even though the property offered Wi-Fi it was not operational. The host was prompt in replying to our communications about Wi-Fi but unfortunately it was not resolved to our liking.

Perfect Location

Loved staying at this property while visiting Yellowstone last weekend. It’s in the perfect central location for surrounding attractions and was very peaceful. The view out the back was amazing and the cabin setup was perfect for our family. Sharie was extremely responsive to my messages and communicated in advance the status of the park following the flooding so we could better plan our trip. Great Location

Owner excellent in quick replies and communication. It is a great place! Only 2 issues for us during our stay. First was that on arrival most of the towels appeared slightly dirty/used as if they were not cleaned. As well as the toilet paper roll had been slightly wet and matted on top piece. Also, the tub was minimally dirty that we washed out before giving kids a bath. Second, was that the fireplace was not able to work as it was shut down as manager figured June was too warm (normally this could be true but we had very stormy weather in which the fireplace amenity which was listed as an amenity would had been nice to use). Overall was a great cozy place and the manager was very polite and very quick to respond to any inquiries throughout the stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Idaho beauty

The cabin is located in a lovely area of Island Park and has a beautiful view of the meadow and surrounding snow-capped mountains. Yellowstone's west entrance is just 30 minutes, although that is one of the busiest entrances. We had enough room for the 12 of us. The kitchen is well stocked and there are plenty of sheets, blankets, and towels. The cabin does need a deep cleaning as we found trash under the beds, crumbs in the kitchen drawers and couch cushions, and a nice layer of dust on the open shelves in the kitchen and bathrooms. I would also suggest replacing pillows as many are lumpy. Overall, guests will be comfortable and enjoy their stay. The host Sharie is terrific. You will not be disappointed.

Nice and convenient

This place was awesome! Everything we needed and more. It was around 25 minutes to Yellowstone National Park West Entrance and about 70 miles to the Grand Tetons. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra towels and blankets. There was plenty of space to spread out if you started getting tired of your group as sometimes happens. I would definitely recommend this place.

Perfect vacation

What an absolutely wonderful property!! Listing was spot on regarding amenities, space, and quality. We had a group of 9 people and the house had enough space for everyone to hang out as a group as well as spread out for some personal space. Excellent location for both Yellowstone and Tetons. Host was readily available and very attentive. Would absolutely rent here again!!

Perfect for Exploring Yellowstone

A delightful property in a great location. Lots of room for our family of 5. We enjoyed all the little extras like spices, plastic wrap, etc. We cozied up by the fireplace and played rounds of Uno and watched movies after long days exploring Yellowstone. Come prepared with groceries as the nearby store prices are high and restaurant options are limited. Would highly recommend to others! Thank you for a great stay.
