The deck and surrounding yard/acres are so special here. Endless wildlife to watch, beautiful trees, peace and serenity. We are so happy that you spent time with us.
This cabin was wonderful. It was well maintained and very clean. Everything about it was top rate and we would not hesitate to stay here again and again. the view was exceptional and wildlife was seen-- Elk, Deer and Moose. It was close to the South Park Museum which was a plus for us. We are an Old West reenactment group and participated in their Opening Day.

We aim to please :) We ensure our guests are taken care of from the moment they book until they check out. Thank you for staying with us
This property is simply amazing! Exceedingly clean, beautiful and relaxing. Home was well stocked with cookware and silverware. The little hill was nice for the kids to run down with sleds. Exceeded our expectations and would recommend to everyone! My daughter left her tablet and they made it easy to get it back.
The home was beautiful and very well-equipped. The hot tub was fabulous! Watch yourself when you get in..the ladder is not stable. Please keep in mind that the home is located at a high elevation. If you have difficulties with high elevations, high blood pressure, or breathing difficulties, this is not the house for you. You will NEED a 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle.

We are happy to hear that you loved our home and had fun in the hot tub! The home is in the mountains at a higher elevation, however it is good to note that this home is actually lower in elevation than most cabins (another 1,000 feet up) in Fairplay. The roads to access this home are much easier with no steep climbs as well. However we always recommend a AWD or 4x4 to all guests during winter for safety, it is on our listing :)
We’ve stayed at many VRBO’s and this is now one of our all-time favs!
Very spacious and well laid out for extended family units with 4 couples and teenagers, grade schoolers, and toddlers. Kitchen was best equipped I’ve seen, appreciated so much the extra paper towels and trash bags and utensils to nake meals for 14. The extra folding table, chairs, high chair were thoughtful & appreciated. The place was very clean, comfy beds, thoughtful toiletries and lights and outlets. Bonus was sledding hill behind (and sleds in garage!) and tasteful, sweet decor for the holidays.
Thank you for providing such a clean, comfy, & gorgeous property for our family celebration.

Thanks for your kind review, Steph! So happy you were able to experience our "hosting from the heart" hospitality. Would love to have you back!
One of the best short term rentals we've stayed in!
My wife and I rented the Silverheels Lodge for a quick getaway from Denver.
This turned out to be one of the best rentals we've ever had! Communication with the owner was fantastic before, during and after the stay. The place was very roomy and exceptionally clean--exactly like the pictures.
The location is quiet and remote and perfect to relax in while watching the wildlife.
The final thing that made this rental so good was the amenities and supplies. So many rentals give you the bare minimums in the kitchen and throughout the house that you are left running back and forth to the store. But the Silverheels Lodge had it all! Generously stocked kitchen, three different ways to make coffee and plenty of dishes, cutlery etc. It was such a joy to stay.
Highly recommend!!
Our stay at The Silverheels was wonderful. The property was just as beautiful in person as the online photos depicted it to be. The cleaning crew was just finishing up slightly before our 4 PM arrival. The gentleman was kind enough to walk me through the property and explain where everything was and how things worked.
The kitchen was well-equipped, including a Keurig coffeemaker with lots of pods. (Yum:). The hot tub was lovely and the adults and teenagers loved that. My youngest son (34) likes archery and set up a target for practicing in the back space.
The property is definitely a bit remote - took us about 30 minutes into Breckenridge - and a high-clearance or 4WD vehicle is probably best on these roads. I had a low-clearance Tesla Model 3 which was able to get in there driving slowly and avoiding some bumps - but otherwise very easy.
Overall, it is a lovely property with comfortable, spacious accommodations. We had a group of 7 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs - and everybody (maybe especially the dogs:) loved the place!
Thanks so much to Tina and her crew for making this such a memorable stay. We will definitely be back!

We just loved reading this detailed review, thank you for taking the time to showcase all that you experienced and enjoyed while staying with us!
Silverheels Lodge was a great destination for our extended family of 13 (grandkids included)! We’ve been coming to central Colorado for over 45 years, but this was first time in Fairplay area. The home is quite large and 6 bedrooms nicely accommodated everyone. Tina and her group made everything so easy and the home and surroundings were exactly as advertised. We’ll definitely be back!

We are so happy that you and your family stayed with us for your trip through Colorado. Hopefully we can host you all again in the future!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful and roomy (there were 13 of us). Saw about 10 elk right outside the windows one day. Two suggestions…. Bring matches and spare sheets, just in case. It wasn’t a big enough deal to us to reach out to the owners. But we would have loved a fire in the fireplace. There was a lighter, but it had no fuel in it. And there were spare twin mattresses in a closet but no sheets for them. So one of the teenagers slept on a sofa (also no sheets and the fold out mechanism was broken anyways). Great experience, and we would definitely stay again!

What a special viewing of nature at its finest! Sorry about the spare sheets, we would have happily brought over whatever you needed if you would have let us know, including a new lighter. As you can see from your stay with us we go over and above in supplying items. Our guests do not need to bring the items you mentioned above :) We are always a text away from ensuring our guests have all that they need.
Nice place for a family or friend gathering spot with picturesque views from every window. 5 minute drive to Fairplay, but still felt remote with privacy. Hot tub was fantastic. Great kitchen/living area layout for cooking while socializing and stock of condiments was amazing. Master bedroom is wonderful space. Other bedrooms are nice but do not have TVs. Minor disappointment that downstairs area was described as having kitchenette. This was a refrigerator in the garage.

Hi Mandy, I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. I apologize about the kitchenette not being there anymore. It was in our listing when you booked, however we renovated since then and removed the kitchenette to add twin/twin bunks in the spare space. I thank you for staying with us.
Loved the property and its location! Enjoyed the fireplace, size of the house, the views, hot tub, stars at night. The perfect getaway from it all. Very clear instructions for check-in and check-out. Host is very responsive. Perfect!
This property was excellent for our large family. Beautiful setting and beautiful house. We were really impressed that everything we needed (and more)was supplied. There was plenty of places for sleeping as well as room to spread out or gather together. The hot tub was pristine and in great working condition. We were even visited by several elk early Sunday morning! Thank you so much for a great weekend!
We celebrated our anniversary with our family. The house and location were amazing. The smoke from the wildfires obscured our views of the mountains and the night sky but we made wonderful memories here and will be back when our country isn't burning so we can see the sights. Thank you!
The only thing that was not perfect was the weather. We were fortunate enough to have a Moose visit the property which was so amazing. The owner stopped by and the property managers were always accessible and responsive. I can't wait to rent it again 💖
Had a wonderful time - after about 36 hours (see review)
So, here's the deal. This cabin is terrific. The hosts, Amy and Tina are phenomenal. The house is clean, beautifully appointed and spacious. The hot tub was fantastic and the scenic grounds are breathtaking. There were a few minor inconveniences, one of which being the lack of a garbage disposal which his desperately needed (especially if you plan on cooking - making soups and chili and what have you). Water pressure can be an issue too. But, the real downside is the location. Not location on a map. Not location in terms of the very cute little town it's in. (It's darling) Location in terms of ALTITUDE. Oh my ever-loving God, the altitude! This is twice the altitude of Denver, y'all. We're talking almost 11,000 feet up and boy, were we not at all prepared. We're sea level dwelling Southern Californians and we pretty much couldn't move or breathe for the first 36 hours. I had NO idea it would affect us so much. That's on me. The little cans of oxygen they sell at every store and gas station up there really help (buy them!) and I will say that our kids (who live at 5,000 feet in CO and WY) were not affected by the altitude at all. Just us Sea-levelers. It really kicked our butt. Again, that's not on the hosts - they did everything they could to make our stay amazing. So, if you need a gorgeous setting, spacious and clean accommodations with all of the amenities and wonderful hosts...and if you AREN'T used to living at sea level...this is the place for you! Would definitely stay again, knowing what I know now. I'm telling you, so you'll know. Thanks Amy and Tina! Truly a wonderful home!
We rented this beautiful home for a 2 day extension on a trip when our flights got cancelled. The house is set up perfectly for multiple family groups. The entire downstairs can function as it's own home so you can all come together OR have your own space if that's what you prefer. We happened to stick adult's upstairs while kids stayed mostly downstairs which made for a relaxing weekend. Check in was a breeze and Tina and Amy have stocked this house so thoughtfully for vacationers. They were also incredibly kind and accommodating when our plans changed due to road conditions. Every question we had was answered swiftly. Absolutely 0 complaints about our stay at this home. We hope to come back again someday while there isn't a historic snow storm to explore the beautiful property as well. The home is tucked back into the trees which makes it perfect for privacy and room to roam without an audience. If you are looking for a relaxing mountain escape, this is your place!
