Enjoy visiting this beautiful and uniquely appointed mountain home. This stylish house has large rooms for spreading out. It is open and sunny with a breathtaking view of the woods. You’ll feel one with nature! Sleep tight in one of the two King size beds or in the Queen size futon. The master bedroom is on the main level with a private balcony perfect for your morning coffee. This home has all the modern conveniences while in a gorgeous mountain forest.

During ski season, shred at Breckenridge, about 30 minutes away. Get adventurous with multiple fourteeners, extreme and moderate hiking, biking, 4 wheeling, horseback riding, world class fishing, and much more right at your fingertips. The neighborhood features access to a 13’er and the closest trail is only 1.5 miles away; it’s an easy 1 1/2 miles and dog friendly. Fairplay and Alma are each just 10 minutes away with saloons, restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery, winery, and shopping. Because Fairplay is very centrally located, it’s easy to launch to Buena Vista, Salida, Kenosha Pass, and multiple wilderness areas.

After your Colorado adventures, cozy up with a hot cocoa in front of the wood burning fireplace. If it’s warm, relax on the large deck and watch the wildlife and the abundant stars. There is STARLINK internet with excellent streaming availability, blue ray, and lots of DVDs for family movie night. Indulge your competitive side with game night using the many options provided including a new ping pong table in the basement. Well behaved dogs are welcome for an additional fee.

If you need to work remotely, the STARLINK internet will allow you to get your work done while in this amazing location.

Excellent property. Honestly one of the best properties we’ve stayed at. This place literally had everything we could ask for. The host was more than accommodating. The view was incredible. We saw a moose while sitting on the front porch. It just walked right through the front yard. Wonderful memories were made. Highly recommend this relaxing getaway.

Amazing House

Beautiful mountain house! My family and 2 small dogs and myself loved staying in this beautiful house. The house is well maintained and equipped with everything you need. The host Sussane is so sweet, welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this house I located in the mountains but fairly close to all the activities we had planned and booked.

Beatuiful home in a quiet setting

We had such a great time staying here. The house was incredible and it had everything that we would ever need to make it a successful weekend. We were able to spend Christmas here and to be able to sit by the fireplace and watch the snow fall with our dogs was magical and to be able to end our last night standing in the snow looking at the stars on a clear night reminded us how special the weekend really was. We would love to come back here again as it really was a perfect house.

Loved this place!

The things we liked about this place were- owners were accessible and welcoming, remote location, amenities, comfortable beds, 2 decks, some great hiking trails and 13/14ers nearby, and it’s a quiet area. We will definitely look to rent this place when we return to the area! Next year, we will hopefully have our dog trained to go up steps or a ramp into our truck and bring him along. Thank you for opening up your home to us!

We loved our stay here! The house is wonderful and the views are amazing everywhere you go! It’s location was perfect for us. It is just secluded enough but we were close enough to several towns and trail heads. We enjoyed Breckenridge, Frisco, Buena Vista, and Salida. The Pennsylvania Mountain trailhead is 5 minutes from the house and Quandary was 20 minutes away. The house was clean, well stocked, and perfectly suited to our vacation wants. We attended Burro Days in FairPlay, a fun outside festival. The ping pong table was added entertainment! We highly recommend 888 Puma Place!

Thank you for another wonderful stay

This was our second time staying at this place. This time we stayed a month. We really like this place because it is quiet and near hiking and biking trails. This year we are lucky enough to see some wildlife in the area. The owners of this rental property are friendly and welcoming. this year we brought our dogs and they enjoyed going out in the wooded yard and all of the forest smells. When we come back to this area we will rent again.

Left Texas Heat to a Cool Get Away

The 11,000 ft altitude mountain house is well furnished and surrounded by trees, and the night sky close enough to touch the stars, a bit of a bumpy road but simply incredible and well worth it. Close to Fairplay (south of Breckenridge) with options to drive through majestic mountain countryside to small unique towns like Buena Vista and Leadville. Any questions the host will answer immediately.

Christmas in the mountains

We really enjoyed our stay at the Puma house. It had the little touches that make one feel at home, for instance, a tissue box in the bathrooms, bedrooms and living room. This may sound silly to some, but having a tissue close at hand was great. When we first booked this house we had intentions of doing some hiking, but the weather had different plans for us. But it was fine, we played board and card games while listening to the crackling of the fireplace. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Evacuation getaway

We were evacuated by wildfires and decided to take a last minute Lemons-to-Lemonade trip. The host was amazing and worked with us to get the reservation squared away and us into their perfect mountain getaway. There is access to a 13'er in the neighborhood (Pennsylvania Mtn) that was beautiful. It is also close to the trailhead for Mt. Sherman, one of Colorado's 14'er, which was also a great hike! We sat on the deck and saw big deer and other wildlife and Moose mama's and babies were in the neighborhood. 10/10 would recommend!

House was comfortable, get walks each day. Only Negative was the roads to the property. Corresponded with the owner, she said they had a rough winter. County Responsible for road maintenance, this in no way is a reflection on the owner, she was great to deal with.

Spectacular house, spectacular views!

We really liked the style of this house. It has a unique floor plan and architecture. The master bedroom and master closet are quite spacious. Because we usually stay in Colorado for at least one week, we appreciate the extra closet space. There is a nice deck at the front of the house and another deck off the master bedroom facing the back yard of the house. Both have beautiful mountain views! The house was well equipped with everything we needed and more. When we had questions, I emailed or texted Susanne and she responded within minutes. She seemed so eager to make us feel at home!We hope to stay at this house again during one of our future trips to Colorado.

We spent the week of 4th of July in Fairplay for a workcation combined with an escape from the neighborhood fireworks in the Denver suburbs. The internet was fast and reliable for work, and our dogs were able to peacefully avoid the scary fireworks. The dining table or counter stools are the only surfaces to work at indoors, but that was fine for me.The bedrooms are spacious with king beds and plenty of places to relax and read around the house. The kitchen was well stocked with small appliances, dishes, and utensils--just know that it is a one-cook kitchen. Check-in and check-out could not have been easier. We walked the dogs on the road in front of the house since they usually have a back yard at home. We took one day to go over to Buena Vista and another day to Breckenridge for a wildflower hike. The deeply rutted/graded gravel road going back and forth to town made us less interested in popping into Fairplay or Alma for a meal than we had planned since it is rough on our older SUV.

The house was clean and was equipped for our needs. We traveled with four adults and a baby. Having two king beds is rare which was very nice. The only caution is the road is pretty rough from town to the house. However, it was nice to be away from the traffic and be surrounded by beauty. We saw a young moose on the road close to the house on one of our days. Be conscious of the elevation- I was the only one of our family to feel really bad with altitude sickness. Fortunately we had outings away from town most days which helped. The host was very responsive and very personable.

Stay at the Puma Pad

I and my wife really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful property. The hostess was very accommodating. The property was very well stocked with supplies (tissues, toilet paper, trash bags, etc). Also the kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishes. There were plenty towels, linens, bath soaps, etc. Well Done!!!

We dreamt of having a vacation home in the mountains for as long as we can remember. It is finally a reality! We have one child, a 10 year old son, and two dogs. We love to ski at Breckenridge. Our son is on ski team there. We also love to hike, mountain bike, fish, and enjoy the mountains. We hope that you enjoy our new home as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

We were drawn to this house because it feels like camping but with comfortable beds and modern conveniences. The stars are amazing at night. The yard is beautiful with tons of mature trees. This house is also so unique with gorgeous woodwork and craftsman touches. It feels homey, artsy, woodsy, and elegant all at the same time.

What makes this property unique

We love how remote this house feels yet it is so close to Fairplay and Alma for shopping, restaurants, and bars. It is very close to many trails and outdoor activities. This area has so much to offer for the outdoor enthusiast.
