Fairway Chalet- Mountain cabin on the golf course

If you are looking to visit Cloudcroft, Fairway Chalet is the place to stay! It's one of the few cabins with beautiful views, privacy, close to main village AND overlooks one of the highest elevation golf courses in the world. It's small but comfortable and very relaxing outside. It's great for one or two couples. The top loft room is good for two younger ones. It's 50 years old so it's not perfect ( a little rustic ) but we try to keep it updated and as clean as possible. There are stairs inside and outside. If your are familiar with CC you will love this cabin. You have the whole place to yourself and we are always available by text or call. Neighbors in the area are helpful too. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Beautiful Place to Stay

This cabin is in an amazing area. The views are breathtaking and the cabin is so comfortable. I would highly recommend this cabin for your next stay in Cloudcroft

Cozy stay in a beautiful location

This was our second year staying here and it was just as cozy and relaxing as last year. Every morning we watched the sunrise from the couch as we sipped our coffee and planned our day. It was the perfect long weekend getaway and we look forward to returning next year.

Nice little place

While this wasn’t quite as fancy as some of the other offerings in the area, it was clean and had everything we needed. Plus the price was right and the owner was very accommodating. This would be great for some family/friend ski trip with all the beds and room they had!

Cozy mountain cabin

Location right on a hill with beautiful views off the back porch is fantastic. We saw deer, elk, and wild horses out on the golf course at dusk. This is a nice little cozy and rustic place to stay.

Cozy and Comfortable Cabin Hideaway

Absolutely loved our stay in Cloudcroft. The owner was responsive and the cabin was delightful. The area is beautiful and hiking is super close. There was a community art fair going on and plenty of shops to go through. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped for all of our needs. Can't wait to stay again

Great cabin on the golf course.

We loved our stay. Everything was clean and everything worked well. TV’s and WiFi was great. We watched playoff football and played cards. Had a wonderful time.

Great for a family

It’s actually 3 levels, which works great if you have kids. We let the older kids have the lower(basement) level which was huge. We really enjoyed this cabin!

Cloudcroft cabin

Nice older cabin. Nice view from the house. Met our needs for this trip. Close to town. Host was pleasant and easy to talk to regarding check in and out process. It was a good trip for these guys and much needed. Thank you!

Little Chalet

We had a great stay in the quiet neighborhood! Close to town and enough space for our family of 5 teenagers. Had all kitchen utensils to cook and washer/dryer to do some laundry. Provided lotion, shampoo, conditioner, cooking oil, salt and pepper and cone filters for ground coffee.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the house but it could have been a bit cleaner, several light bulbs were out. Stairs were hard for our group (65 year old women).

We had an ideal stay at the Fairway Chalet

We searched carefully to find this property before booking a reservation on VRBO. We were very familiar with the area around the Cloudcroft Golf Course, because my husband vacationed in Cloudcroft with his family from a very early age. The Fairway Chalet met all of our expectations. The balcony views of the golf course and pine forest are superb. The house is very well stocked with dishes, linens, towels, and other supplies. The appliances work well and the house was very clean. We hope to enjoy this property again some day soon.

AWESOME AS ALWAYS!!

This is our fourth year in a row to stay at the Chalet. It has become our yearly trip to Cloudcroft and this is the only place we will stay! The cabin does have several stairs as mentioned but our group is made up of over 60 years old with medical histories including fused ankles, brain tumors, low heart rate, and all have arthritis of some type! We still manage great and always enjoy our stay, so do not be afraid of other reviews saying there are stairs. We play golf each year at the lodge and have stayed in other VRBO's but this one is by far our favorite.

Cloudcroft

Terrific setting, quiet, cool summer weather and the Lodge were our reasons to come to Cloudcroft again and we weren't disappointed. Well equipped. Not smart enough to run the LR tv and its remotes but downstairs was ez. Maybe I missed an instruction sheet, nbd. Like the proximity to the very cool Lodge, its one of a kind. Will visit again next year for sure.

The bathrooms are very small. The stair steps are very steep. Due to the steep stairs would not recommend for someone with knee and hip replacement as we found it very hard going up and down. The bed in one bedroom is too high to get up on it. Could be more clean.

Fairway Chalet

This rental needs a lot of work. There are about 16 steps to enter from street. Not good for anyone with physical limitations. Master bedroom is basement lots of spiders. Coffee maker but mo pot. Kitchen is minimal and ground floor living area is tiny. It is a beautiful view but not as advertised. We left a day early.

Stairs Galore!

We loved our stay in this quaint home. If stairs are your enemy then this would not be the one for you. This home has many stairs down to front door then once inside there are more stairs to master bedroom down on the lower level plus steep stairs to the loft bedroom. We loved the home it was so awesome to see all the wildlife on the golf course. We saw elk, deer, and wild horses. The owner was so great and easy to communicate with. I have a bad knee so the stairs were hard on me and I did have a mishap and fell going up from the lower bedroom not the stairs fault. I’d love to stay again but I’m not sure my knees agree. This home has everything you need to be comfortable. I bet the view from the big windows is pretty awesome during the winter.

Needs more upkeep

We had a great time, but property is somewhat run down and needs some upgrades. Blinds falling apart, deck is run down and living room TV has a terrible picture. Also needs a deep cleaning- lots of cob webs in corners, dead bugs and dirt in window seals and food under cushions. Linens, sink, toilet and bathtub were clean. Lastly, there is no A/C and when we arrived it was 80 degrees in the cabin. We had to open doors and windows. Suggest maybe some big fans or a portable A/C for the summer. Check in was a breeze, but email said check in was at 3:00 and we arrived the cleaning lady was still cleaning. I was told that check in wasn’t until 4:00, so website needs to be updated.

We have a long history of visiting CC and love our cabin. We enjoy sharing it with people that will hopefully enjoy it too.

Why they chose this property

There are not many places you can relax on a large balcony, view the beauty of the mountains and have a wonderful golf course out your backyard. Watch the sunrise in the morning and see deer and elk feed in the evening. The quaint village of Coludcroft is just down the road. The neighbors on each side are rarely there so you should have nice privicy. The living area is open and the master bedroom is spacious, but cozy. We provide an up-to-date manual on activities, restaurants and places to vistit so whether you want to be active or just hang out and relax you will have the best of both worlds.

What makes this property unique

If you want to be in the mountains, stay in a place where you feel like you are in the mountains. There may be a better-priced cabin, but you get what you pay for, and you will not have the privacy and beautiful views
