We enjoyed ourselves very much at this property. We loved the proximity to the beach and all of the amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, boogie boards, board games and a wagon to haul our beach items. The property manager Ruta also gave us solid tips on where to eat & what locations to visit. It was an all around enjoyable stay.
We had a great stay! The place was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. One of the best parts was how close it was to the beach, it made getting back and forth super easy. The host was friendly and communication was great throughout our stay. We felt comfortable the whole time and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!
This location was perfect for our girl's trip! Close to town, the beach, the salt marsh (I recommend the tour), and the Surfliner train takes you to Santa Barbara for only 8 (cheaper than a Lyft/Uber). Host was super nice!
We loved the close proximity to the beach. Good central location to the area. We were unaware of the trains in back yard, it was not a huge problem as they did not run during night. The 2 bathrooms was unclear due to the 2nd bathroom was not located near the bedrooms, made it hard for 2 separate couples traveling together with the 2nd bathroom being located in basement/garage area. We made it work. The beach house was charming and all of the places to sit and be amongst friends locally and traveling with was great! Thank you for offering your home to us.
Wonderful beach house with lots of space and all the creature comforts you'd expect (internet, TV w/ streaming services, full kitchen, laundry). Our trip was not a beach vacation but the house came with lots of beach equipment, plus an outdoor shower area. The king beds were very comfortable and the house was walking distance to new(ish) Linden Square downtown (10 mins). It also had 4 bikes, which was a nice touch. Would definitely come back!

We loved staying in a small town for a month with access to everything. This beach house had everything you need and way more! Wonderful for dogs and easy to keep clean. It was clean and tidy and had every amenity we could want. We made great use of the bicycles. For us coming from the mountains, the train was fun for a couple of weeks and then felt loud to us. But overall, it added to the vibe of being close to the coast.Thank you for opening your home to us.
We enjoyed our stay very much at this wonderful home. The proximity to the beach was incredible. The kitchen was well appointed and we enjoyed our time!
The second-story porch is wonderful with sunset views and lovely peeks of the ocean. We also enjoyed the mountain views from the living room (upstairs as well). The kitchen is big and very well stocked. Both upstairs bedrooms are large and airy with comfortable beds. We stayed a month during the Christmas holiday, a rain storm and mostly lovely weather. Ruta is a great host and makes sure you are comfortable. We'd definitely stay again. Thanks, Ruta.
We loved our time here! Carpinteria is a great town by the beach with fantastic restaurants. The home is spacious with everything you need for a great beach vacation.
Ruta was an excellent host. Her home was spotless and comfortable. Lots of fun beachy decor. The upstairs is cozy and sunny and perfect for morning coffee and afternoon wine. There is a big refrigerator was very convenient. There are stairs up to the front door and two sets of stairs to the top floor where the living room and bedrooms and bath are located. Just a head's up if there are any mobility issues. It was nice having king size beds, although, I am a very firm mattress gal and my husband not so much. The bed was a bit soft for me, but perfect for him. But it was not a deal breaker by any sense. The train goes by pretty close to the back of the house, but we love hearing it. A few passenger trains throughout the day. We were there 4 nights and only one freight train came through during the day. If you have kids, they will love looking at the upstairs window and watching the train go by.
We absolutely loved our VRBO home. Great area. Walk to downtown. Quiet and clean. Host got back to me within 15 mi utes when we had a question. Everything we needed was in the house. Can’t wait to go back Miss the Spot already.
We loved staying in this Beach House! It was so comfy and warm! There was so much room to relax and enjoy our visit. The kitchen was very well supplied, and the back yard was perfect for play time. It was clean as a whistle, and the communication with the owner was easy and straightforward. Highly recommended!
We stayed at this lovely and clean VRBO. The owner was very friendly, kind and her home was very welcoming. The house is close to everything, restaurants, Beach and shops. We will come again!!!

About the host
Hosted by Ruta Aras
Our family found this vacation spot by accident after spending fun summers in San Diego and wanting a place closer to home. A friend recommended Carpinteria. We tried it once and fell in love immediately. We spent a few seasons renting and finally decided we wanted to buy a place and make it our own.
Why they chose this property
One of the nicest aspects about living in Carpinteria is that it is flat so walking is easy and biking is even better. There is also a cute little public trolley in town that takes you all around for 50 cents -- what a deal. I love the monthly Flea Market at the local Carpinteria Museum. My favorite purchases are antique jewelry and purses. They also have beautiful flowers and vintage housewares. The pizza at Giovanni's is the best anywhere and so is the local ice cream store, Rori's, on Linden. It's fun attending all the local activities hosted by the city. Small town charm is so hard to come by these days. And if you want a taste of the big city, then Santa Barbara is conveniently only 15 minutes north of Carp and wineries in the Santa Ynez family are an hour away. You have the peace and quiet of a small town but access to great museums, restaurants, theater, and shops if you want it.
Our guests love surfing, swimming, kayaking, and fishing at the beach. Others prefer skateboarding at the park In Santa Barbara or renting tandem style bikes. Still, others prefer rock climbing, hiking in the local mountains. Adventurous ones schedule boat trips for whale watching on the ocean or visiting the Channel Islands which leave from Santa Barbara Harbor.
What makes this property unique
While at the Beach House the first thing you notice is that you are walking distance to the beach, the salt water marsh preserve and to downtown Linden Avenue. We take the big beach wagon in the garage and fill it up with chairs, cooler, umbrella, boogie boards and take off to the beach. Afterwards we return to take outdoor showers and enjoy the backyard for a barbecue but first cocktails on the upper balcony watching beautiful sunsets or taking in the gorgeous mountain views on the back side. Cooking on the antique stove in the big kitchen that seats eight is fun -- so is discovering treasures in the 'Sugar Shack' the original structure to the Beach House built by the settlers that came out to Carpinteria from the midwest. Sometimes we take the train to Santa Barbara, the depot is two blocks from our house.
Many out of state guests enjoy the fair weather the area has to offer during the off-season. When it's cold and snowy in Canada or elsewhere in the United States the gentle weather locally attracts tourist who enjoy off-season rates and no crowds.
