About this property
Tranquil, Secluded, Updated Two-Acre Wellesley Island Waterfront, Drive-To Home
Relax in the relative solitude and prevailing breezes of this magnificent, drive-up, 4-bedroom 2.5-bath home with floating dock in protected water for predictable boating access, safe swimming and water sports. The final approach to this property includes a two-hundred yard forested driveway revealing the renovated, 19th-century farmhouse with large bridge-view deck and screened-in porch. Deer and wild turkey frequently emerge on the expansive lawn. Dramatic views of freighters on their way to and from the Atlantic.
Large queen master suite downstairs opens to deck overlooking Brown’s Bay just off the American Narrows. Original upstairs queen master overlooking the river shares full bath with a third queen and fourth full bedroom. Small bonus room upstairs makes optional office, baby room, or extra sleeping for a teen. Breezy, screened in porch yields a bookworm simultaneous views of the bridge and landscaped lawn and wildlife. Updated kitchen with modern appliances.
We purchased this home in particular because of its prime location on Wellesley Island, its accessibility by car, its majestic views of the River (in particular the bridge and the freighters), and its relative seclusion compared to other properties in the area. We are confident you will enjoy these attributes as well as our guests.

About the host

Man marries fourth-generation River Rat and buys her a gem, therefore becoming a River Rat himself.
Why they chose this property
There are so many fine properties in the area. This one was a rare combination of location, drive-to, freighter- and River-views, seclusion, protected water, dockage, and elbow room. Some properties sit on the market for years. This one lasted one week with backup offers.
What makes this property unique
Everyone knows the song...”Over the River and Through the Woods...”...This home makes that requirement the literal truth! After looking at properties for several years, I knew I wanted to be on Wellesley and I really wanted to have to drive through woods to get there. We are not yet grandparents, however, and do not require four-wheel-drive to get there!
