Newly Renovated! Perfect home away in Munich.

Enjoy Munich as a local in this newly renovated two room apartment in the center of town. The building dates from the mid 1800's and the ammenities from 2016. With 82 square meters (almost 900 square feet) you will have plenty of room to work or relax. The apartment is on the ground floor and, in addition to being very secure, is easily accessable for any traveller. The location is very close to SENDLINGER TOR, a major public transportation hub with the intersection of 4 subway lines, 4 tram lines and a bus line. You can easily get to anywhere in the city from Sendlinger Tor. Marienplatz is only a short stroll away. Inspite of being in the center of town, the apartment is very quiet and is always enjoyed by guests of any age. Families, retirees, business travellers, opera singers, actors and explorers of all kinds have been our guests over the years.

The bathroom was completely remodeled in 2016 and includes a large walk-in shower, floor heating, custom cabinets and a clothes washer/dryer combo. The kitchen includes a large refridgerator, dish washer, plenty of cooking utensils as well as pots-and-pans of all sizes. The apartment is ideal for longer stays or shorter get-away trips.

A brand new, Italian-made sleeper sofa with an extra sized mattress for comfort is found in the living room along with a lovely new dining table and chairs. The living area has tasteful lighting which may be dimmed to suit any mood.

The bedroom has a brand new 180cm x 200cm mattress and bed along with top quality bedding from Zoeppritz, Europe's oldest fabric weaving company (1828). You will have plenty of closet space along with a comfortable work desk and high-speed WLAN connectivity and, of course, a flatscreen television. Draw the lovely JAB Anstoetz drapes for privacy at any time and enjoy your home-away-from-home in Munich.

The flat is absolutely amazing. From what I understand about urban living in Munich, this place is nearly palacial in size. The flat is clean and airy and welcoming.The hosts were easy to communicate with when needed and super responsive. I definitely recommend a stay at this place when you're in Munich! I know that we will stay here again on our next trip.

A few days in Munich

This was a very large flat with tons of space. Close enough to many sights, but still not in the busy part of the touristy area. Space was functional but not luxurious, which is all we needed.

Very spacious, main bedroom extremely large and nice area to just chill in. Church bells every half hour and the early morning church bell display meant the place wasn’t that quiet. Loved walking through the old cemetery behind the building and looking at the tomb stones.

Huge!!

This apartment is huge and provides everything you will need for your stay. The location is situated closely to public transport, grocery, and pharmacy. The apartment is very large and will comfortably accommodate a group of four. It is situated in a safe neighborhood near the Oktoberfest Festival site. Top Notch!!

VG location too, even although we had little time to get to know the area.The one thing that lost a star was the oven tray and oven weren't properly clean.That apart it was excellent.

A little effort would make this great

The location was great - even had a fun little cocktail bar next door. With a little effort, this would be an ideal location. There were 3 different coffee makers but no coffee making ingredients provided (most do this). There were 2 irons on site - one appeared to have had a cord fire and the other had something melted to the bottom. My partner was able to clean the one with the melt on it so it was usable. While there was a washer/dryer unit, we were unable to find laundry supplies until after we had purchased detergent. The hair dryer appeared to have melted around the nozzle so we were leary of using it. The host made no contact during our stay.

Perfect Oktoberfest apartment

Great location for exploring Munich. Centrally located - a short walk or quick ride on public transit to both Marienplatz and Oktoberfest. It is quite humid in the apartment, so you have to keep the windows open. I wasn’t completely comfortable with that as it’s a ground floor unit, plus many of the windows have ripped or missing screens, allowing bugs in. Very convenient to have washer/dryer, but it TINY and takes a long time, so don’t expect to do massive amounts of laundry. Lots of space in the apartment, and the bed was very comfortable. Cute neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants. Overall was perfect for the two of us for three days in Munich!

Great location, very walkable to the main parts of the city! That being said, it was one of the few properties left when booking a week in advance. The place had everything you could need, except pillows. A couple issues: one of the heaters was broken and it was very cold for the people sleeping on the couch. The crib provided was broken and we couldn’t put our child in it. Overall, a fine stay.

Great location, and just as the owner said it was

So fortune to have this great apartment to stay in. Anton greeted us out of the clear blue, he must have been just patiently waiting for us. Once in the apartment he showed us all around, answered any questions and made us feel very comfortable. There are restaurants very nearby and a grocery store too, walking distance. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed and then some. Thank you Patt for your prompt responses and timely emails. That made booking your unit very easy. I would recommend to a friend and would stay there again.

The apartment was a good size for the two.of us. Communication and check in was quick and easy. The apartment itself is looking a little tied and was not cleaned properly. I think this may be due to the number of people coming and going. The apartment is close.to the train station and has good restaurants/bars and grocery stores around the area. I was a little disappointed in the apartment based on the previous comments.

Central and comfortable

Patt is a very welcoming host who showed us around the apartment on arrival, explaining the working of appliances and other features of this very well-stocked apartment. We were very comfortable and felt at home here. The location is very central with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants as well as a grocery store in close proximity. We rented bicycles which we could safely store in the courtyard. Parking is a problem as Patt had warned us, therefore we parked our car at Frottmaning Parking garage for the week. This cost was only 18euro for the week. We would stay here again to explore this beautiful city further.

Bait & switch listing

Sorry, but the pictures of this listing do not match the state of the apartment today but look like professional real estate shots from when it was last sold. While the appliances in the unit today are in fact newer than what's pictured, the rest of the apartment hasn't aged too well. The place is a souterrain apartment and unfortunately very dark, damp and musty smelling. Unsurprisingly, the house guest manual had instructions to keep a pair of dehumidifiers running at all times and empty the collection bucket on one as it filled up. I'm sorry, the last and only time I had to live with a dehumidifier was renting in a dodgy student shared house in Sydney that had an issue with rising damp and mold. This stay was also the only time I have ever encountered a cockroach in Munich. Admittedly I left the place some 20 years ago after growing up there and climate change likely means roaches are now not uncommon in the city, but the state of cleanliness, or lack thereof, would have to be a big contributor. Please give the place a thorough clean and update the listing with some current photos so people know what they're getting. The location is fabulous and the self-check-in was seamless and convenient, but unfortunately this didn't make up for the many other flaws that made this stay, in my home town no less, a low point of our Europe holiday accommodation-wise

A Huge Letdown

First of all…make NO mistake…this is a Basement apartment! I feel like we’ve been “catfished”!! This apartment does not look like its pictures! Don’t know when they were taken but it does not look like that! It is dank, dark and musty which became bearable after 3 days with the dehumidifier running 24/7 and emptying 3 times daily. There was mould around the shower area. Drain in shower needs cleaning as floor would flood. Cobwebs in every corner. Room sizes were decent. Bed was super low…maybe 15 inches off the floor but comfortable…thankfully. Curtains in main room were barely hanging on and in need of repair. If I could have gotten my money back we would have left! Only good thing was we loved the area…just not the apartment! Would not recommend!

Large apartment in a great location

The apartment is very large and it is in a great location. It should be noted that it is a basement apartment and is partially below street level. There is a washing machine but no dryer. The bedroom is very large and the bed is comfortable. There is a wonderful market just around the corner and the center of town is a nice 10 minute walk. We were greeted upon arrival by Anton who is absolutely delightful. He showed us around the apartment and made sure we understood how everything worked. Also, Patt is one of the best owners I have dealt with on VRBO. He returned emails quickly and kept in touch during the year our reservation was pending. The only negative we encountered during our stay was that the towels, some of the bedding and some other furnishings were very old and worn out. If the towels and a few other items were updated this apartment would be 4 stars.

Great location! Needs a couple of improvements

Overall, there were some really great things about this property, but there were also 3 things that needed improvement. Great items included: 1) Location; 2) Bathroom was very nice; 3) Kitchen was well appointed for cooking small meals; 4) check-in and communication with the property manager was easy; and 5) washer/dryer worked well for laundry Items that needed improvement: 1) The apartment needs a bit of a deep clean. While the space was generally clean, as in my socks/slippers were not dirty after wearing them around. There was however cobwebs in most of the corners and on the curtains; as well as some mold growing in the kitchen and bathroom areas. All of this appears superficial and likely just needs some attention. 2) The apartment needs a guide book that includes information on how to use the appliances, heat, television, etc. 3) Finally, the electrical needs some work. The lights didn't work well and at times made the apartment feel a bit like a cave. The lights over the kitchen area needed to be unscrewed and screwed in by hand, rather than by a switch. This should be remedied immediately.

Awesome Location and HUGE!

My husband and I stayed at this apartment over the Christmas holiday. We could not have asked for a better location! It's hard to see on the map just how close this is to the city center, literally a 10 minute leisurely walk to the Marienplatz. Also, there are so many great restaurants and cafes on and around the street that don't have any tourists in them, this is where we spent most of our late evenings. Neighborhood felt extremely safe, even really late at night. Grocery store around the corner. The owner was great in helping our planning before arrival and during our stay. He called us personally months in advance to help us with any questions about the apartment and Munich in general. He answered all my emails before our arrival and even helped us after our stay when we realized that we had left something in the apartment. The apartment is far bigger that it appears in pictures, this was the largest VRBO we have ever stayed in. The apartment was clean and the first floor location was awesome. The washer worked great and plenty of hot water for the shower, even in the winter. In the apartment there were also tons of books (travel, leisure, Munich, Germany) as well. As it was Christmas, there was even a small decorated tree in the apartment, which made it feel really cozy. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone coming to Munich. So close to all the "sights" but not in a tourist area at all. The best of both worlds!
