About this property

Lakefront cottage with neighborhood boat ramp, 1 mile from great restaurants.

This family friendly 2 bed, 1 bath lakefront cottage is located directly on the Somerset/Burnside line. Amazing restaurants like Guthrie’s Grill and Reno’s are just a mile away. Burnside Marina is 2.5 miles away, however there is a seasonal neighborhood boat ramp approximately 1 mile from the house. The massive deck and firepit area are great for relaxing with a good drink after spending the day on the lake. It’s perfect for grilling and listening to the boats go by. Grab a book and relax in the hammock! One bedroom has bunks with full beds on the bottom. Queen bed in the second bedroom. Pack N Play is available for the little ones. Full washer and dryer. WiFi available. There is NO cable, however there is a smart TV that any of your favorite streaming apps can be accessed on. We leave Netflix, Disney+, and Prime logged in for our guests. There is no direct access from the house to the lake. The house is located on a steep cliff overlooking the lake. Boat not included. The neighborhood boat ramp is seasonal as the water levels are usually lowered in the fall and winter.

Great location and view

This was a cozy cabin with plenty of room for our family of 4 and our dog. It was conveniently located near all the hiking and other outdoor activities we did. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

We loved our quick get away to Lake Cumberland. The host was wonderful, very communicative, and easily accessible. The home was perfect for our family, and the welcome basket was a wonderful added touch! The cottage was clean, quaint, and easy to access restaurants and fun things around Cumberland!

nice and quiet & clean

we had a lovely time at this VRBO. The house was just right for our small family get away. everything was clean inside of the house. The kitchen was well stocked. The exterior could have been cleaner and sprayed for bugs/spiders, it was the middle of summer so all the little creatures (mostly spiders) were out and about. Not a big deal. We would definitely book this VRBO again!

Our stay was very enjoyable. The house is very welcoming. Jennifer did a quick check-in just to make sure we had everything that we needed (which we did). This is a great place to go to just relax and get away but also has plenty to do nearby. 10/10 recommend!

Can’t wait to go back!

We had a wonderful time at this home. It was spotless and very updated and airy. The view was wonderful and we spent a lot of time on the deck. We used the fire pit to have s’mores for which the owner provided the ingredients in our welcome basket. Quiet neighbors. Lots to do in town and the Cumberland State Park is only about 40 minutes away.

Lake House

House was very nice. It was updated and very clean. However, the double bed in the second bedroom was squeaky and mattress was too soft in the middle. There were outside lights that needed to have the light bulbs replaced. It was very dark walking outside.

Cumberland lake house

The rental process was easy and Jennifer was so nice, friendly and accommodating. The house was stocked with most everything needed and more. We were there on 4th July weekend so many fireworks were going off. Not unexpected but we didn’t enjoy it at 2am. 😳. The house was amazing. I only wish we could see the lake more from the very nice deck. And I do wish it had lake access to wall down to. I was nervous about being on the lower deck since the underneath was open to the cliff. Overall our experience was really great. The place was so cute, so clean, very cozy. Had everything we could want inside.

Restful Days at the Lake

My first impression of the property was from the pictures on the VRBO website. The property is very well-depicted in the pictures. It looks newly remodeled. The color choices and lakeside decorations are just as refreshing as the breeze that is coming up off the lake through the leaves of the trees onto that huge deck. We ate all of our meals outside. Inside was impeccably clean. Property owners (Doug and Jen) were very attentive and called to make sure that all was well when we arrived. We had no complaints during our stay, except that our own commitments kept us from staying longer. We hated to leave. Our stay there was just what we needed - a chance to rest and be close to the lake and the local marinas. We hope to be back. Thank you, Doug and Jen, for sharing your lakeside home!

We had such a wonderful time! The fireplace insert was so cozy and put off great heat! We really enjoyed watching Netflix shows and movies by the fireplace! We also really loved making s'mores on the fire pit outside. The natural arch, yahoo falls, and Cumberland falls are all worth the short scenic drive!!! Thank you for everything!!!!

Perfect Lake House

Lovely and very clean Lake house. Looks just like photos. Enjoyed the large deck and fire pit. Great location. We had delicious meals at Guthrie’s and Reno’s. Rented a boat one day at nearby Burnside Mariana. Everything we needed was provided at the house. It was extremely well stocked. They left a basket filled with everything we needed for s’mores!! The fenced in patio was so nice to relax on. We were able to bring our pups which was great. We would definitely come back. We always received a quick response to any questions we had. Perfect for any family.

Did NOT want to leave!

First- the owners- The Daniels, great communication! Everything was EXACTLY as represented and the check in/check out message from Jennifer was perfect! Second- the house- SPOTLESS! Comfortable, felt like home, the deck was amazing. We grilled, had a fire in the fire pit and cooked inside- EVERYTHING we needed was at our fingertips! Third-Kentucky- we have never been to Kentucky, loved it. Gorgeous and the hikes are Amazing! Fourth-Dogs- We travel with our dogs and it is so much fun! The was SO clean and we don’t always see that in dog friendly rentals! Thank you again! Travelers from Pennsylvania

Quiet get away

This was a nice cottage over looking the lake. It's got a huge deck for getting some sun, and the house was very cozy. Make sure to bring or rent a boat for a few days of your visit, as that is the main activity in the region.
