Came for business, location was very central, felt secure due to gated parking. Unit was comfortable and clean and we would easily choose to stay here again! Also host (Erica) was superb at replying to a question that was a bit later in the evening. Thank you again!
Cute, eclectic and cozy loft close to downtown Detroit. Host was fabulous; provided everything we needed for a long weekend.

Detroit getaway
We really enjoyed our trip to downtown Detroit! I love that new places to stay are available. The place could have been cleaner, but otherwise worked for what we needed.
The property was an amazing staycation for my boyfriend and I! Beautiful apartment that was in a great location for us. A major plus was Erica, whenever there was an issue or question she was immediately on it! I have never had such a responsive host. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area :)

My sister and I stayed here on a trip up to see Stevie Nicks and Pine Knob. I adored the place, I love the whole industrial aesthetic. Everything was put together so lovely. I would absolutely stay here again.
Erica gave great directions and instructions. My only comment was the parking gate - I wasn’t sure if I needed to press the button again once I was out to close it back up. Sometimes it would take a bit for it to close and I wasn’t sure if that was just automatic because the button wasn’t responsive and I didn’t want to leave it open! But was super thankful for gated parking.

Our host was excellent in communication and resolving any issues within (literally) minutes. The loft is an adorable boho loft in the middle of the city near the Ambassador bridge. The only issues we had were the upstairs neighbors & the comfortability of the bed (which wasn’t awful, it was just a little small for two.) we reached out to Erica about the noise with the neighbors and she apologized profusely and contacted management. While this issue continued, this was of no fault of the renter. The neighborhood is somewhat isolated but still close to downtown. Overall, we had a great stay and it was nice to be a visitor in my hometown and see all of the cool things they are doing with the old buildings.

We had a great stay at this apartment for our one evening in Detroit. When you arrive, do not let the external of the apartment fool you, the space was beautiful, well decorated, and clean. Plus, Erica was a great host. I was having troubles on the VRBO app to see Erica's message about parking, but she quickly sent me instructions over text. She was very quick to communicate and super helpful with getting in the space.
We loved the location. We took an Uber (~$8) to downtown to have dinner. After dinner downtown, we returned (another ~$8 Uber even with downtown being pretty live). We decided to stop at the Green Dot Stables which was directly across the street. They have very affordable eats and drinks and we had a great few drinks there. This is all to say the location is a 10/10, away from the loudness of downtown, but still nearby that you can easily take a cheap Uber to get to where you need to be.
I highly, highly recommend Erica's space for your next Detroit stay. I will 100% rebook in the future.

Loved the decor/overall vibe. It's an apartment building full of mostly long term term rentals, so it doesn't feel like a hotel. The free, gated parking is a huge perk, as most stays in Detroit don't offer that. We did have an unfortunate experience with the tenant living directly above the unit who had recently moved in. She works third shift, so she's up at odd hours, and right as we were going to bed around midnight/1AM, she started playing music super loudly. We ended up going up to ask her to turn it down, and she did for a little while, but would turn it on again after we had just gotten back to sleep. We went up three separate times. I communicated with the host about this and she was sympathetic and responsive. It was out of her control, and we made the best of it.

Thin Walls/Bleak and Dumpy Area
We warned about thin walls. No big deal as I can usually hear people in hotels as well. But this was utterly ridiculous! The music blaring ALL NIGHT (that is no exaggeration) sounded and felt like it was in the same room!
The building and grounds were dumpy, and the neighborhood was sketchy. The hallways were dark and dingy, and the accommodations were bleak. I haven't taken the time to compare the actual listing yet, but I will be. The "amenities" were abysmal. Not even a toaster. Thankfully the Keurig was clean. I expect that it was close to new.
Oh, by the way, we stayed only the first night of the four we reserved. I was planning on running the Detroit Marathon on Sunday. Given the amount of rest I got on Friday night, I knew it was impossible to stay any longer.

Thank you for the feedback, we are currently working on a better way to sound proof the loft. Unfortunately you aren't the only person to complain about the noise issue, since then we have issued a noise complaint to the neighbors. One of the tenants moved out since then.
We apologize for any inconvenience the noise may have caused.

Just Not for Me
The loft itself looks just like the pics on the ad, and it nice and cozy. My biggest problem was the building and location of the building.
The host was very responsive and supportive and allowed me to get a partial refund to finish my stay somewhere.

Why they chose this property
This property is amazing all year round for a visit to Detroit’s Corktown. Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, named for Irish settlers, is rapidly redefining itself. Brunch is big in Corktown. Savor made-from-scratch comfort food at Folk, creative dishes at Brooklyn Street Local or several vegetarian options and a bloody mary and mimosa bar at Bobcat Bonnie’s. Bagel fan? Detroit Institute of Bagels is affectionately called the “best bagel place ever” by locals, and Thrillist.com agreed, naming it one of the top 12 bagel stores in the United States (outside New York City) in 2018. Lucky Detroit Coffee & Espresso is on the second floor of Detroit Barbers. After you sip a cup of java in the company of a mounted moose head, treat yourself to a haircut or hot shave.Explore The Corner Ballpark on the site of old Tiger Stadium, and then pick up an Old English D baseball cap from Detroit Athletic Co. If handcrafted spirits are your passion, taste away and take a tour at distillery Two James Spirits. As your next stop, search out Eldorado General Store, stocked with vintage clothing and other treasures. The area has a long history as Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, with “1834” emblazoned proudly on the signs. The name, some say, refers to County Cork in Ireland, as many of the early residents were immigrants after the potato famine. Just a few years ago, Michigan Avenue had more boards than businesses, but now, it’s not just the well-known Slow’s Bar BQ in the shadow of the old Michigan Central Station. Joining Slow’s on Michigan Avenue alone, you have restaurants and bars such as Astro Coffee, Mercury Burger & Bar, LJ’s Lounge, Ottava Via, PJ’s Lager House, Two James Spirits, Takoi and Gold Cash Gold, not to mention a host of other restaurants underway. The strip also includes shops such as El Dorado General Store.
