The house is right on the lake with some fun water toys! Check-in and communication with the host is super easy. The house fit our family comfortably; it just needs a good power washing. Being a little remote caused cell phone connections to be very limited. We had an amazing vacation!
Location was great; the kayaks and paddle boards were very nice. The living room furniture could use an upgrade .Overall it was a wonderful family trip!

Thanks for the review. Glad you had a wonderful family trip and enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboards! Thanks for the comment on the living room furniture, we will review. Randy
We stayed along with our granddaughters…and had a great week. Lovely, breezy views from the 3 season porch, kayaking on the lake and s’mores by the fire. The property owner installed wireless access in the last year, great coverage! All in all a great stay.
My husband and I, along with our 2 daughters and their families spent 4 nights at this lake house. The size was perfect for us. The lake was beautiful and loved the locations
The owners and others involved were friendly and easy to communicate with. They were respectful of our concerns. We all loved round lake and the few kayaks and paddle boards that were available for our use. Our group was extremely disappointed by the lack of cleanliness of the property. There were spiders and other insects inside and outside. The windows were also very dirty, inside and outside. The vents and fans were full of dust. I would recommend this property, but could use a good, deep clean.

Hi Amelia,
Glad you enjoyed Round Lake and the kayaks and paddle boards! Hard to beat Round Lake!
I did talk property manager and he reviewed cleaning procedures with our professional cleaners. Although we hope it never comes to this, but if there is ever anything that doesn't meet our guests expectations, we encourage our guests to contact our property manager. Generally speaking, the issue can be resolved quickly so guests can enjoy their stay!
Thanks
Randy
Really enjoyed the lake and the beach! Great place to hang out with family!
A few things to note:
1) one of the kayaks had a hole in it and was filled with water when we arrived. We drained the water, but it needs a patch job with some epoxy
2) one of the paddles for the paddleboards was broken upon arrival
3) there are mice in the house if you aren’t already aware
Overall, really enjoyed our time!
Thanks!

Caitlin,
I'm so glad you enjoyed your quick stay at Round Lake!
Thanks for letting us know about the complimentary kayaks/paddle boards. We provide the water equipment for the enjoyment of our guests as we realize how difficult it is to transport kayaks/paddleboards to Round Lake. Also renting them is very expensive. That said, we do depend on our guests to take good care of the equipment. I'm happy to replace as i know how much our guests enjoy. My property manger will examine them & if they need replacement, I will be in Hayward this week and purchase.
As for the mice, this is the first time we've heard of this issue. Again, my property manager will be on site this week to review and take appropriate action. Again, thank you for the heads up!
Randy
The property has good space for sleeping and socializing, inside and oustide. The water front is all sand, which is great. We loved having the lift for the boat. Made going out multiple times a day very easy.
We had an issue in the middle of the night and the property manager fixed it within a few hours. Great communication.
A few things should probably be updated (tile, flooring, decking) but overall it was a great property for the price.

Thanks Aaron for your review! We do continue to upgrade the cabin as we want to make sure everyone enjoys their experience on Round Lake! In mid Sept, 2021, we will be installing a new refrigerator, dish washer, stove, and clothes washer/dryer! Hope to host you again someday! Thanks Randy
Not easy for parking our 4 place snowmobile trailer. No turn around area. Luckily we are experience backers and made it work. Wi-fi wasn’t working so then the tv didn’t work

Thank you for the feedback Aaron. We appreciate you booking with us and hope you had a great time.
We will remedy the trailer issues for future guests.
As detailed in the amenities section of the VRBO listing, the cabin does not currently have WiFi. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Thank you
Randy
We loved the lake, the sandy beach and clear water, great dock, firepit, and tables in shade right at water's edge. The wrap around porch and screen porch were wonderful with water views. Phenomenal sunsets. There is no wifi or much cell reception, but that is noted - just be aware. It is an easy drive to Hayward (~15 min) if you need wifi/cell service. There is no air conditioning and the house can get warm, so note if this bothers you. Also note that there is no room to turnaround a boat trailer once you turn down the road to the house so make sure to park it in the overflow lot a few minutes away. Overall- fantastic!

Great location
I have taken my family to Round lake for a week since 2000. We have grown and needed a larger place so 1st time at this property. As far as location on the lake, flat sand frontage, dock and shore station, PERFECT and the best to date. 10 adults and 2 kids comfortable but not sure how the house could sleep 15. Yes has 2 bathrooms, however the loft bathroom is accessible through the loft sleeping area and the commode is very limited for adults because the ceiling is only 4 1/2 ft off the floor. We had an issue with the septic alarm in the middle of the night and the property manager fixed it the next day. This is also the most costly place we have rented and few things should be updated like deck repair, kitchen stove replacement, kitchen floor repair and a second fridge in the garage would be great. Also the ATT cell was unavailable, and No WiFi or internet available.

Appreciate the comments.
Glad you liked the location and access to the lake with its flat sand bottom. Hopefully the new kayaks, stand up paddleboards and lily pad were also enjoyed!
As for the cabin, new refrigerator, stove, dishwasher along with new washing machine and dryer will be installed in mid September. The old refrigerator will be moved to the garage for extra cooling capacity.
Almost all cabins on Round Lake have septic systems. Sorry about the alarm, but hopefully the quick response demonstrates our commitment to providing our guests with great experience!
The cabin has all new beds/bedding, including a king, 3 queens and 4 twin beds. Also has 2 large futons. If extra room is needed, there is plenty of room for airbeds.
The cabin has 2 bathrooms. One of the main floor and one in the loft. The loft bathroom is conveniently placed for use by all sleeping upstairs. The pictures on the site accurately show all sleeping areas.
We will review the kitchen floor this week.
Finally, as stated in listing, the cabin does not have wifi or cable tv. It does have a smart tv and dvd player. We have found that most of our guests find it refreshing to not have wifi as it allows their family to unplug from daily life and focus on enjoying the lake & family! That said, we have verizon phones that provide reasonable cell and internet coverage, especially considering your at a cabin in northern Wisconsin. When I need wifi, i go to either Powell's or Fish Tales..both within a mile of cabin...then hurry back to enjoy cabin life!
Again, I appreciate the comments and hope this information allows for an update of all the upgrades that continue to happen at Round Lake Hideaway!
Thanks
Randy
The house was nice and very comfortable. It’s described as sleeping 15 and it does, the only thing is the dining table is only big enough to fit 6 people around using extra stools. The kayaks, paddle boards and lily pad were very fun. And it was nice having the lift for our boat. There is plenty of parking for vehicles and it was really nice having the attached garage space. The road and driveway area is kind of tight for turning a boat trailer around (which they tell you about ahead of time) so there is a private parking lot a couple of miles away to park any trailers you bring with. While this is okay, it is also a hassle and would have been nice to know when booking. If it was in the description I missed it. There is also an extra refrig in the garage which was super nice! Some of the light bulbs were burnt out and it would be handy to have all of the light switches labeled. The property manager was responsive but our cell service around the cabin was very poor so had to drive to the casino a few miles away to communicate. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes except it only had 7 coffee cups. Also, the dishes looked nice and were in good shape, and there were two sets - one breakable and one plastic. However they are not microwave safe. The “breakable” ones would get very hot when microwaved and the plastic ones were labeled not microwave safe. Overall we enjoyed the cabin and would consider it again. Just tried to be thorough with things we noticed. Thanks!
Enjoyable MEA Weekend Getaway with some room for improvement
Overall, the location was stellar. We went just this past weekend over MEA and it was so peaceful, quiet (other than boats motoring around), just what we needed.
Several things of note:
1. First and most importantly, at least one of the kayaks has a hole in it. We did not realize this, and went out for an early morning fishing trip on the lake that turned into a rescue mission when the person using the kayak could not properly keep afloat and kept slipping into the water repeatedly. Only when we returned and inspected the kayak did we realize it has duct tape over it and was taking in water. This is a serious risk to safety. The watercraft were advertised on the website and we relied on them to work as advertised and chose not to bring our own from home because we trusted that they would be in working order. If it doesn't work, don't try to duct tape it together... replace it, or don't advertise it.
2. We found several pieces of laundry that seemed improperly washed or unwashed (stiff, dry hand towels in the bathroom drawer).
3. Smoke/CO2 detectors were unplugged and in the kitchen drawer, with the unconnected wires hanging out of the ceiling.
4. Several doors were unable to be locked. The first car to arrive was able to get into the property without ever checking out the key.
5. There was a light over the fire pit that we could not find the switch to, and the property manager did not seem to know where it was either. We ended up not being able to use it.

Hi guys, thanks for staying at our cabin and glad that you could enjoy the peace and quiet of round late! It can be difficult finding a location on such a popular lake that allows groups insulation from neighbors & lake activities. Believe the 300 feet of lake shore helps achieve! As always, if there are any concerns, we do encourage guests to immediately contact our property manager upon arrival as generally they can be addressed quickly. I'm sorry to hear about the kayaks as we were not aware of the damage. They were new this spring so must have been a rough summer. We do try to have spare's available & would have been happy to bring you one. We just didn't know. It will be replaced by spring. I did talk to our property manager on the other items. The smoke/co2 detectors in the drawer were extra & cabin actually has more working detectors than are required. Our property manager will discuss the towels and double checking the lock to the screen porch with the professional cleaners. He will also take a look at the light by the campfire as it hasn't been an issue but when the days get shorter, that light probably gets a little more useful. Very sorry about that. Randy
This lake home was perfect for our family group of 11 (ages 6 months old to 64). There was plenty of room for everyone. The view from the home and large deck is incredible! The lakefront is nice and level for sitting by the water. Our group loved using the kayaks and paddle boards provided by the owner!
The location was close to some nice restaurants and only 10 miles from Hayward.
We had a wonderful family vacation at Round Lake Hideaway. There were 15 teenagers and adults spanning three generations in our group. The kitchen was well equipped and the house had a great layout for a group. The lake is gorgeous and great for swimming and playing around in the water. Our family loved the kayaks and paddle boards. The owner and property manager were great to work with. We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful location. Wonderful hosts and very prompt when asking questions. House needs some updates, but we enjoyed our time and the quietness and location of the cabin. Lots of room!
We had 15 people at the house with 5 kids under the age of 3. Everything worked as advertised. Lake was great. Sand area and shallow water next to house was great to play in.
Our family of 10 stayed at Round Lake Hideaway the same week in 2021 and suggested in the VRBO review a few things should be updated like deck repair, kitchen stove, refrigerator, DW replacement, and a second fridge in the garage.
The owner said he would and he did! All NEW kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, mattresses, shower heads, bath towels, wrap around deck, and also the 2nd refrigerator in the garage, made this secluded home on the best shoreline of Round Lake that much more enjoyable!
It was an amazing time to get away from all the everyday challenges of life. As a family we had members from age 2 to 83. Some did water skiing, rafting, body boarding, kayaking, swimming, and pantomiming. Can not wait to do it all again
We stayed here with 2 families of 5 and the cabin fit everyone comfortably. The paddle boards, kayaks and magic carpet were excellent for kids and adults to use and enjoy. We brought 2 boats - a fishing and speed boat) and had plenty of room to park on the dock.. The lift was very nice to dock our 19' runabout on - especially when the wind picked up on the lake. Great swimming off the dock!

About the host
Hosted by Hahn Ventures, LLC Hahn
Our family has been coming to Round Lake for 16 years! As our kids have started to grow up and activities keep us from traveling to the cabin as much as we had hoped, we decided to make our cabin available for rent so that other families may also have the opportunity to enjoy Round Lake. We hope you enjoy your time on Round Lake as much as we have over the years!
Why they chose this property
This property has an incredible 350 feet of lake front. It has a low elevation, sandy beach with a hard, sandy bottom. Kids will have a great time playing in the lake. The cabin is a cozy home with a great indoor outdoor deck that is a entertaining place to hang out in the morning or watch beautiful westerly sunsets in the evening before heading down to the firepit to end the night.
