Great location! Half mile to lifts. Quirky historic condo with mountain views

Cozy condo only 1/2 mile from Schweitzer village. Enjoy beautiful views of the slopes from two balconies. Four floors of living space includes lower level garage, ski storage and laundry; second floor living room, kitchen and dining; third floor bedrooms and cozy enclosed loft space on the top floor. Kitchen is remodeled with maple cabinetry and leathered granite counters. It is fully equipped with new stainless steel appliances and all kitchenware, spices and basic staples to cook your meals. Sandpoint locally crafted dining table and benches seats eight. 60 inch smart tv located in the small living room. The living room will seat five to six guests. High speed internet. Cozy fireplace powerful enough to heat the entire place but each room also has its own thermostat for individual comfort. Sleeps eight in four bedrooms (king, queen, twin bunks and king). Refer to photos for specifics on bed sizes and dimensions of rooms. New crisp white linens and very comfortable mattresses in each bedroom. Small one car garage can accommodate small SUVs or cars. Plus parking for an additional car outside. Private high capacity Samsung washer and dryer. Ski storage room is heated. Lots of charm in this place as it was only the second condo property constructed on Schweitzer Mountain. Floor to floor access via stairs, spiral stairs and ladder. This quirky condo was constructed in 1970 on the mountainside with four stories of living space.

Really nice condo close enough to Schweitzer. Great ski storage room with laundry right there in same room. Garage was as small as advertised but our car just barely fit. Shuttle service was great but we also walked to/from village with ease.

Perfect for a ski trip

We really enjoyed staying at this property during our ski trip! It was comfortable, conveniently located, and had extra features for storing boots/skis that made getting the family ready for the next day of skiing easy.

Fantastic location. Great shuttle service on the weekend. Fireplace is a 10/10. Thermostat in every room so you can set the temperature how you want which was great. Enojoyed our stay here

Great place

This place was great! Just what we needed for two families. Kids loved the spiral staircase. The garage is convenient. My only comment is that the kitchen does not have basic staples, notably cooking oil.

Excellent Schweitzer GetAway

We really enjoyed the purple condo! Buffy (property manager) was amazing and had excellent communication! Our family loves coming up every year and lucked out with being able to get ski passes thru the booking for the kids! Kitchen was stocked and the beds were so comfortable:)

Modern cozy condo

The condo was beautifully designed, warm and comfortable, with all of the amenities you need. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The only downfall is that it is not ski in/ski out, but it is only a one minute drive to the resort!!

Lovely ski trip

We had a wonderful time in this Schweitzer ski condo! We found it most convenient to drive to the ski area, even though it was very close. Parking was convenient and we could ski in and out from the (free) parking lot.

Perfect for our needs

We had 4 adults and 4 kids and it was perfect for our lake trip. I do suggest saving the loft for the most nimble adults, its a pretty steep ladder. It was clean, the beds and linens were so soft and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed.

First time to Sandpoint, Idaho. Stayed at this location on Schweitzer Resort. The condo presents as advertised. Nice owners, good communicators. WIFI was pretty decent, too!

Great little place

My wife booked the place, and it was great. We had a garage for our bikes, and just road them to and from the hill for riding as it was pretty close and convenient. The bathrooms are a bit cramped, and the spiral staircase was not the easiest to get the suitcases up and down, but it was clean and comfortable.

Plenty of room to sleep

Great condo for a family or group. Kitchen was as well stocked as any we've stayed in making cooking easy. Plenty of space. Not ski in/ski out but a close walk to the village in regular shoes. Fireplace kept us warm in cold weather. Fun purple theme!

Great location for ski trip

We stayed here with a group of friends for a ski trip. The rooms are definitely tight for 4 couples, but we knew that going in. The shuttle runs only on weekends and we learned from a neighbor that you can take a trail from the bottom of Parallel Rd to the resort. The cleaniness of the unit was not up to par - we communicated directly to the owner about things they can improve. The Purple Palace is quirky but was pretty much as expected.

Skiing at Schweitzer

The Purple Condo is cozy and cute. The well-appointed kitchen made my chef roomies very happy. Great location to ski Schweitzer. The village shuttle only runs on weekends but can see the Gateway parking lot from the condo and can usually get a spot if arrive by 8:15. It's just a bit too far and hilly to walk in ski boots.Buffy was very responsive through the entire rental process and when we discovered a broken shower head and shovel on our first evening, she was there to replace both within 24 hours. Overall, we had a great experience!

Cute and cozy condo

Nicely decorated condo and fully stocked kitchen. We really appreciated individual temperature controls in each bedroom and the beds were comfortable. Great views of the mountain. As noted, all bedrooms are accessed via a narrow spiral staircase, which could be tough to navigate for some people and for any large suitcases. The living room is a little tight for more than 3-4 people, but was cozy for our family and the fireplace was nice. Hosts would not allow an early check in before 3pm without a $150 fee even though the unit hadn’t been rented for the three days prior but the check in process was easy. We had a nice stay!

Ok for walking to village

Condo was in good location to walk to village, but size of condo for 4 adults and 3 children was a little small. With only one TV to entertain we were on top of each other and we ran out of hot water after just 2 showers. Big SUV will not fit in garage be prepared to shovel snow. Spiral staircase is a challenge with large ski bags

Ski vacay at Schweitzer

Fortunate to get a property close to the slopes for our family ski trip. Kitchen well equipped for all of our meal preparations which was important since we didn’t plan on eating out due to pandemic. Comfortable sleeping arrangements in 4 separate rooms allowed privacy. Having passes available also awesome since ticket availability limited on weekends due to COVID restrictions. Also more convenient than going to ticket window. Although not officially a ski in property, it is possible for accomplished skiers coming off of the Lakeview Triple. But, if you can’t do double blacks comfortably then drive or walk. All in all, a great trip and the chill vibe of the purple unit greatly contributed to our awesome experience.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property and appreciated the convenient location. While the listing notes that it can accommodate up to eight guests, the living room seating and kitchen table are better suited for about five or six people. Some of the furnishings in the living room could benefit from an update. The bathroom shower curtains also would benefit from being replaced. The walk to the ski resort is manageable, though it may feel a bit long when carrying gear. Additionally, the fourth bedroom in the loft is accessed by a steep ladder without handrails, which is something guests may want to keep in mind.
