The cabin was really nice and very clean. The front porch has a beautiful view of the mountains which was a wonderful place to have our morning coffee. We enjoyed a walk to the nearby lake and the peaceful surroundings. The cabin is conveniently located to Shenandoah National Park and the cute town of Luray. We would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin - 15 minute drive to Shenandoah national park. Newly remodeled cabin in a secluded, quiet location near Arrowhead Lake.
This property was an excellent choice for our needs visiting the park. We loved the quiet solitude of the property and easy access to the park and services in nearby Luray. We hope to return.

It was a pleasure to have such great guests stay at our cabin. You were, as you put it, our "inaugural guests", and it was a terrific experience. We hope you will be able to return for another stay.
We enjoyed the stay. The place is beautiful and the views are gorgeous. It's peaceful there. The heat/AC units have been recently updated so the noise and inconsistent temps from previous years are gone and the temperature and noise were both a huge improvement. This was our second stay in the past few years at this place and we loved it.
I enjoyed being there. This was my second time there. Very quiet.

About the host
Hosted by MELISSA SEAL
My name is Missie, oldest and only daughter of Charlie Seal, owner of Cabin Fever. Dad has given me the privilege of managing his short term rentals. I have always desired to be a part of something involving hospitality, and here I am, acting as host to one of my favorite places, Cabin Fever, which is situated on dad's farm, which is his homeplace. I grew up visiting the farm until my junior year of high school, at which time my dad took over the farm for my granddad. I love the farm and the life that it has provided for my husband, me and our children and grandchildren.
There is nothing better than breathing fresh air, digging in the dirt in preparation of the garden planting and then seeing and tasting the fruit of your labor, smelling farm smells, hearing roosters crow & hens cluck, watching the honeybees work to provide "liquid gold", seeing the kids free to run and play carefree getting hot, sweaty and dirty as kids should, and there is so much more!. All these things have provided countless memories through my childhood and adulthood, and it makes me happy to know that we can share a bit of our life with others by allowing guests to stay at Cabin Fever.
Why they chose this property
As you pull into the somewhat obscure lane that leads through a patch of woods, you will find yourself wondering where this lane might lead? Just after you cross a mountain stream by way of a small concrete bridge the property opens up to the cabin ahead, Nature on all sides. (There is one quiet residence tucked in the corner of the hayfield.) There is farm life that goes on around the property which include cattle roaming the neighboring pasture, and hayfields that draw various forms of wildlife. There's probability that you will experience beautiful white-tail deer meandering through the field eating clover, or turkeys strutting in the hayfields in the distance. Occasionally, you will see bald eagles flying overhead. There is the beautiful view of the Skyline Drive ahead as you sit in the rockers on the front porch during the day, or experience the gorgeous night sky filled with stars as you enjoy a campfire in the fire pit.
What makes this property unique
Cabin Fever is situated in a somewhat secluded setting. The cabin faces the Skyline Drive, specifically the Stonyman overlook and outcropping. There is one neighbor visible from the cabin, but good neighbors! The cabin sits at the foot of the Town of Luray's Lake Arrowhead. The lake water is not visible from the cabin, however, a short walk will allow you one of the most beautiful sites imagined. There are walking trails, picnic areas, playground, beach, bathrooms, fishing, etc. at the lake. The cabin is not far from grocery stores, restaurants and other activities. A day trip to DC and all that is available in the city is a fun day trip knowing that you can return to a quiet retreat. Also, the south fork of the Shenandoah River runs through our county, and spending the day floating the river with your own gear or using an outfitter to equip and guide a float allows many a fun memory (but don't forget your sunscreen). To sum up what makes Cabin Fever unique is our location, cleanliness, and the beauty that surrounds it.
