About this property

Weekend Getaway Relax & Recharge 5 acres Nature Retreat & Dog Heaven!

Escape to a peaceful, dog-friendly Sierra Foothills cabin surrounded by 5 private acres on the border of Mountain Ranch and Mokelumne Hill, just a short drive from lakes, rivers, trails, and small towns like Murphys and Jackson

This cozy off-grid retreat is ideal for families, couples, and nature lovers looking to unplug, unwind, and reconnect. Enjoy quality time by the fire, play a board game, or simply relax while your dog explores freely.

Cell service is available, but there is no Wi-Fi, making this a true digital-detox getaway. We have T-Mobile and ATT that works great.

Winter note: The closest snow play is at Bear Valley, located past Arnold, CA.

Guests may also camp outside for a total of up to 6 guests. Additional guests are not negotiable.

80-foot zipline swing
Swings, hammocks, and outdoor games

Private trails winding through an additional 2.5 acres of forest regrowth from the 2015 Butte Fire

This is a unique opportunity to experience nature’s renewal up close.

What’s Nearby
On your way in, stop at Sender’s Market in Mountain Ranch, a local favorite offering:
Local Calaveras County wines
Ribeye steaks at great prices
Fresh deli sandwiches
Groceries, hardware, and souvenirs

Also nearby in Mokelumne Hill and Mountain Ranch:
Local bars with pool and food
Wineries, cider houses, and sports bars
Farmers’ markets and weekend events during the summer

New Hogan Lake in Valley Springs is our favorite day trip place with endless spots to play in the water, go on a hiking trail around the lake, dog and kid friendly, and nearby restrooms and picnic tables.

Or Mokelumne Rivers on Electra Rd toward Jackson, to just sit and hang out on the river. Not recommended for pets and kids as much due to the rushing river waters.

Local event information:
Visit www GoCalaveras . com under the Things To Do tab for places like Murphy's, Jamestown, San Andreas, Lake New Hogan, Lake Comanche and Mokelumne River.

Visit www visitamador . com Things To Do for visiting Jackson, Sutter Creek, Kennedy Gold Mine, and Preston Castle, along with numerous lakes.

Pet Policy
Dogs of all sizes are welcome. Please bring pet bedding or use the provided dog bed.
We kindly ask that guests clean up after pets and keep them close when outdoors.
And if you have a dog that sheds or with white hair, please don't let them sleep on the bed with the black duvet cover. For some reason, white dog hair is very difficult to clean up after; just be aware of the impact after you leave.

Why they chose this property

Why We Chose This Area

We fell in love with this corner of the Sierra Foothills for its peaceful silence, open skies, and endless natural beauty. It’s the kind of place where you can hear the wind through the trees, see every star at night, and truly slow down.

The area blends small-town charm and outdoor adventure—from historic Gold Rush towns like Mokelumne Hill and Murphys to the rivers, lakes, and forest trails nearby. We love that it feels remote, yet it’s still close to great local spots like Sender’s Market, cozy bars, and Calaveras wineries.

Every visit reminds us why we built this retreat. It’s a place to breathe, explore, and reconnect with what really matters.

There is no Wi-Fi, but strong cell service allows you to disconnect from screens and reconnect with nature.
