"Fiddler Crab" Beautiful 2BR/3BA beachfront house
"The Fiddler Crab" is a beachfront cottage on the private and secluded St. Teresa Beach. St. Teresa is three miles of sprawling sugar sand on one of Florida's 41 aquatic preserves. Named "The Forgotten Coast"—this is truly one of the few unspoiled remaining hidden gems of Florida's coast!
The beach and the Gulf are just steps out the door from this modern, coastal cottage. The home features 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an open concept living space and an outdoor shower. As you enter the home you are greeted by a large gathering space with sweeping views of the water and beach. The kitchen features quartz counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and an island for guests to congregate. Ocean mist lower cabinets, boat cleat cabinet pulls, and ship lap walls give the room a coastal flair. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining space with a large glass table that seats up to eight people and a large buffet for serving. The sitting area has a sleeper sofa as well as two accent chairs—a great place to gaze out onto the water and watch the world go by.
Next to the living space are two bedrooms each with their own en-suite bathroom. A third full size bath is adjacent to the kitchen as well. The guest room has 2 futons that makes into 2 full beds as well as a single bunk bed so this room offers sleeping for up to five guests. The master suite offers a king size bed and reading nook. The spacious master bath has two side by side sinks, a large shower, and direct access to the outdoor shower.

Perfect for a slowdown getaway. I will definitely be looking to book this house again and again. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. The pictures are exactly what you get. It was amazing to walk right off the large back deck and straight out to a private beach area. We loved it!
Fun time at the beach. Fiddler Crab was great for our family. Enjoyed the evening sunsets and walks on the beach. Overall the house was in good clean condition. Could use a few updates outside several screens were torn, back could use a good pressure washing but overall great place to stay. Inside as clean and updated! Would stay again for sure.
The house was lovely. Comfortable and cozy and amenities were all we needed. The beach is gorgeous. Area is so friendly and close enough to groceries and restaurants and activities like Wakulla Springs and George Griffin Pottery. Love this area so much.
The view was spectacular! The house was perfect for us. Everything was as pictured and described. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation rental this is the one.
St. Teresa Beach is beautiful and relaxing. I loved the little cottage I stayed in. It was nicely decorated with everything I needed. I will definitely be back.

This is the perfect beach cottage. Right out the front door to the beach. You will enjoy this gem, book now before it is gone!!
Throughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house in the most peaceful location. House was spectacular and just steps away from the beach. You can spend hours at the beach and only see a handful of people. Fishing is amazing right from the shore no need for a boat. Will definitely be staying again!
We had the most amazing time staying at this property. Having access to the beach right out your back door is just amazing. We picked this location because we wanted to have privacy and just be able to relax and enjoy our family without all the big city hustle and bustle. We use the local seafood marinas for our seafood and truly got to just enjoy being at the beach and relaxing. We are already planning our next trip back we do plan to go a week or two earlier than we did this time as we went the last week of October but the weather was perfect.

Thank you so much for the review, so glad you enjoyed your stay. This place is a great place to stay on the water, you will see lots of wild life in the water, and the beach is beautiful.
We loved our stay at Fiddler Crab. The house was spotless and very comfortable. We wanted a quiet and relaxing house on the beach with a beautiful view. Our first impression was so great that we immediately started talking about booking the place again. The drive to restaurants was much shorter than we expected, and not a problem at all. I much prefer a little drive over being right in the middle of crowds and traffic. We have stayed in many places along the panhandle and finally have a favorite spot.
Very much enjoyed the house and location. House is nicely renovated but retains a beach cottage feel. Beach was secluded and quiet. Only complaint was lack of outdoor lighting. We arrived and left in the dark and there was no lighting for the walk from the parking area to the house and the back deck light only stayed on if you were moving. Will definitely plan to stay here again.

We are working on getting lights . It is to dark if you are coming in at night. Thank you for the review.
We have stayed here many times, and will keep coming back. There is no place quite like St. Teresa. The house is simple and perfect for us. right on the water, you wake up to a sunrise shining right in the windows over Alligator point. The wildlife around there is a treasure for sure, and being able to sit on the deck and be a part of it puts this place head and shoulders above the rest. October is a great time to visit as well, the water is still warm, the air is crisp, and the night sky is one of the best you will find. So little light pollution makes this place even more unique.
This was our first time in this part of Florida. Very laid back and peaceful. The only downside is that it is pretty far from shopping and restaurants. There are things to do and a few good restaurants though, you just have to drive a way. We had the beach practically all to ourselves. One of the best experiences was with the local people. All were super nice! The house was very cute and clean. The only reason for 4 stars was that the yard wasn't mowed until our last day there.
The property is beautiful with charming decor and views of the beach and live oak trees from the open living room/kitchen and master bedroom. It was relaxing to take walks along the beach at sunset. We saw some beautiful Whelk shells with live sea creatures at low tide and took photos. We could also see dolphins from the deck outside on some days.
There are many things to see within an easy 35-45 minute drive. We drove to the beautiful beach at St. George Island State Park to swim. We loved the boat tour at Wakulla Springs State Park-we saw Manatees, turtles, alligators and all kind of birds-you need reservations for this. Our favorite restaurant was Posey's Steam Room and Oyster Bar in Panacea (15 min drive)-old school interior but large portions of delicious seafood! The only cons were some of the roller shades did not work easily- we had to leave one down-and the kitchen could use a larger non-stick skillet.
This was second time staying at the Fiddler crab. The distance from the house to the beach is the victory for this house. If you have little ones or even older people in your group you can’t beat only taking a few steps down and out the path to reach the beach. 3 bathrooms is great too. The house was clean as well as the linens. The house does need some TLC. All of the shades are either inoperable or falling apart. We could not let the shades up during the day for fear of not getting them back down. The pots and pans are pretty bad. No cookie sheets but about 10 serving trays. Since there are no places to eat near by we always cook a lot so decent pots and pans are important. Those are just minor things though. The house and the beach are really fantastic. Such a sweet quiet little area. Everyone is very friendly on the beach. I walked about 30 miles on the beach while we were there and saw maybe 5 different families the whole time. We love that we can leave our chairs and toys on the beach with no fear of them being taken. Perfect beach for families.

Thank you for letting me know about the pots and pans. I have order a whole new set. As for the blinds we have them at the office ready to be installed. Thank you for the review, and please book with again.
This house was absolutely perfect (mostly) for our family of 4. The kids had their own space and the hubby and I had ours. The house is bright, beachy, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with just about everything you would have at home. We loved the huge back deck that is literally steps from the beach. The outdoor shower that connected to the master bath was a great touch.
As far as the cons, there is no TV in the master bedroom. This was a challenge when there was downtime due to too much time in the sun or stormy weather. I'm great with reading a book or working a puzzle, but hubby likes to relax by watching TV. Traveling with two kids (10 and 17) and only having 2 TVs (the 2nd bedroom and the living room) was definitely not ideal. The dishwasher really stinks. It does not clean the dishes well. I don't know why that is, but no matter what I did, I always ended up having to hand wash most of them - especially the glasses for some reason.
There is NOTHING touristy about the area of this house and that is the main reason that I love it SO much! This is the first vacation that my entire family absolutely loved and left feeling refreshed rather than like we needed a vacation to recover from our vacation. You will not be sorry renting this house.
We will definitely be considering this house and others in the area for our next vacation.

We won’t be back
Upon arrival the house seemed fine. However, when we went to get in bed the first night we found sheets that were not clean (blood on master sheets) and sand/dirt in all the other beds, with no additional sheets in the house. I called the three numbers listed on the checkin email and left a voicemail with our house manager, and messaged them on the app. Around 36 hours later I received a call asking if I needed sheets. I declined since we had to wash everything the night we got in.
Tuesday night after showering I noticed that my blonde hair was now a terrible shade of orange and some of our clothes had been ruined in the washer. I messaged the manager and she said said she would let the owner know. The owner called and spoke with my husband who walked him through some steps to make sure the filter would come on that night at the well. The water was still terrible the remainder of our stay.
We also had issues with our garbage can. The information we received strictly said to only use the can by the road at our driveway. Well the can was there the first day and on the 2nd day it had a lock that required a key to dispose of the garbage. I spoke with the manager and she said she would find out what was going on and would call me back. I never received a call. Two days later I called her and she said I was supposed to use the can at the other driveway because the owner owns both houses. I’m not sure how we were supposed to know that. Overall, I would not recommend this place!
The owners were great to work with. Prompt to respond and the house is in perfect order when we arrived. It is beautiful the views are stunning and the beach is amazing. I highly recommend this property. It was wonderful to have coffee on the deck at sunrise and watch the dolphins all afternoon. Stunning sunsets and just a few steps from the house to the beach.
