Outdoor living
Step onto the spacious deck where a private hot tub invites year‑round soaking—warm water rising into the cool night air as the woods surround you. A BBQ grill and outdoor dining set provide the option for al fresco meals when the weather permits, and the private backyard blends naturally into the surrounding landscape, though it is not fully fenced.

Dogs are welcome, and the cabin is pet‑friendly with free parking on the premises. Jefferson County requires that any pets be up to date on their rabies vaccination. Cats are not allowed due to allergy concerns.

Winter brings a quieter pace, ideal for hiking, sightseeing and enjoying the region’s natural beauty without crowds. The cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs and walkways before each arrival, though you may still notice occasional leaves, pollen or other natural traces—a reminder of the cabin’s serene, wooded setting.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Huckleberry Hill in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
