About this property

Kachina Peak Condo Retreat

Cozy studio condo on the secluded backside of Taos Ski Valley. Walk to Lift 4, the Bavarian and trailheads! Ski, hike, mountain bike or relax just steps out the door. Radiant heated floors, queen bed, and the fully equipped kitchen make the space a cozy 350 SQ ft retreat for 2 people to enjoy the mountains, views, fresh air & solitude. ** 4 Wheel drive required in the winter. **

There are no hotels on the backside of TSV, just private home for short term rentals. So, it feels very secluded and intimate back here.

Our condo has a fully equipped kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, a blender and crockpot. We provide basic spices and oil. The keurig coffee maker makes 1 cup at a time and we provide coffee pods, creamer and sugar.

The kitchen has a bar with 2 stools for seating and dining and our living space has 2 cozy chairs for reading, lounging or tv time. Closets have adequate storage inside. Ski storage options: ski rack outside the front door, leave them in your car or bring them inside if you need to.

Family/Holiday Visit
We enjoyed the condo. It is nicely decorated and the layout is good. It was a long drive at night and that is something to consider especially if it is snowy. The unexpected water problems were disappointing, but I know that was not the fault or in the control of the owner. They did keep us updated and offered a discount which we appreciated.

Wonderful studio experience
This was one of the nicer places we have stayed at. The place is really well decorated and set up. Very comfortable sleeping and sitting areas. We only used the kitchen to boil water so cannot really speak on the cooking experience. Our friends were getting married at the Phoenix so the location was optimal for us. If you want to have groceries or restaurants close at hand, however, they are all at least 10 mins drive away. The drive up was fine, but definitely not something I would want to do in the winter or early spring time with snow on the ground. The gravel road had steep inclines in parts. If our travels took us back to New Mexico, we would definitely stay here again.
