Nice little getaway, golf course across the street and the lake in you backyard. A few minutes from restaurants and the wineries are a short drive away. Would definitely go back
Location is spot on for hiking/touring Point Pelee National Park easy access. For heading to downtown again excellent, fantastic view of the lake. You can head down to the water which I did after a good hike to soak my tired feet!!We absolutely loved the area!!
This sweet little piece of bunkie heaven is a total on your list to stay at list for sure. Very comfy, clean and in a convenient area of town. I plan on returning for sure!!! Also... the host was very helpful and easy to get ahold of. Very pleasant gentleman. Enjoy your stay at this bunkie you dont want to miss out. Thank you

communication was well, the place needed a bit more cleaning and dusting. the overall aesthetic of the space is homey but the shower was not the best.
The room was filthy, the shower had carpet on floor and rafter boards overhead, cob webs everywhere including bathroom mirror, dirt under bed and couch. The door did not open smoothly but stuck, the property wasn't really accessable, the picture looks like it was on the lake but was beside sidewalk and busy road. I went to enquire at the house when we got there about the bunkie and was met by a woman who appeared bothered by my asking about the bunkie znd was told, " it's right there, the door should be open and thats all that was said. Empty beer cans greeted us in the driveway when we arrived. This place really sucked.
The refurbished garage is a perfect couples getaway it 4 klms to point pelee national park and 1.7 klms to marina where you can access ferry to go to pelee island for a dayd trip.

Guess house stay.
Decent little space. We stayed here on our way home. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Would reccomend for 1 night stay. Golf course across the street.
This property was a great location for the Point Pelee Birding Festival. It was clean and comfortable. The only things missing were a dish cloth, dish drying towel and paper towel.
It worked well for our needs.
We booked on short notice so we could participate in the Rice Moon freighter canoe tour that night at Point Pelee. Communication with the owner went smoothly and the place was sweet: simple and nice furnishings, clean and very spacious. It needed a bit of an air out when we got there but all else was very good. :)
7 nights. Cosy, clean and comfortable. Close enough to most area attractions. Conor promptly addressed and remedied two minor issues. Thoughtful and pleasant host.
The property was very basic and the condition was poor e.g. tears in couch fabric and bedding covers, blinds didn't cover the windows, too many faults to list. The place was dirty, with cobwebs, dust ... The towels provided were threadbare and had holes. There was no shampoo or soap for the shower, no dishtowels ...
This is our 2nd time at this rustic bunkie on Lake Erie for our Birding getaway at Point Pelee. The accommodations are in a great location and just what we need for 2 people for a few days. We take our own pillows & towels and essentials. We enjoy recapping our day sitting by the lake with a glass of wine.
Connor the host is accommodating & friendly.
We have already booked for 2024
The location is excellent. The rental was clean. The host is very responsive and polite. The water views are spectacular, we enjoyed watching the sun set each night after our days activities.
This location is minutes from Point Pelee National Park and also the ferry to Pelee Island.
If you like to golf, the course right across the road is very well kept. We really enjoyed it,
Know that you are renting a renovated garage, and that’s totally fine, just know that for your expectations. We might suggest bringing an extension cord, the outlets are in odd places. If you are fussy, bring your own towels and bedding, it’s basic, but it works.
To summarize, it’s a No Frills, affordable place to stay with good, friendly hosts. We would stay again.

A Place to Sleep
Although the building appeared clean, there is an issue with ants, specifically on the kitchen counter. The outdoor sitting area is overgrown with weeds and the Muskoka chairs were not at the property. The wifi wasn't working.(my partner needed this for work) Conor responded promptly to my message regarding this however it was late in the evening before he got the issue solved & returned the chairs. There were a number of staples missing from the kitchen. (cutting board, bottle opener). The sheets didn't fit the bed, they were "bally" and the mattress protector was ripped, preventing the sheets from staying on the mattress! This building is located very close to a busy street, quite noisy in the morning and afternoon. This area is spectacular with loads of beaches, Pelee Island and Point Pelee National Park. We spent very little time at the VRBO.
Well... I did wait 48hours before completing this review.
We were very disappointed, did not feel comfortable staying there and when we got off the ferry at 10pm, we actually decided to drive 2.5 hours home instead of staying for the second night. There was no shower head in the shower.... it was like a garden hose with water coming out of it like a fire hydrant. The floor in the whole 'bunkie' was slanted and it makes me wonder what they put the laminate flooring over. There seemed to be a hole around the toliet that the laminate was placed over. There was thick layers of dust on the wobbly ceiling fan and on the coffee table, magazines, books and games. We know it was 'pet-friendly', but we didn't expect the couch to have so much dog hair on it. The blinds were broken and they didn't even cover the entire window....so when we were in bed, someone could have easily been peeking in (as you are very close to main road). It made us feel very uneasy. There were holes in the corners/cupboards where foam insulation is visible. The patio was full of weeds. We were very shocked when we got there and contacted Conor (thought we would contact him first) and he said he would talk to cleaning lady and asked how could he make it better. We said it was no where worth what they listed it as, gave him most the details above and we were not happy with the conditions. Needless to say, we didn't hear from him again. This was a very negative experience and in our opinion, goes to show how people who rent places like this, at what they charge, seem only to be interested in collecting the money and not about client satisfaction. We wish we stayed in a hotel/motel.... would have been a lot cheaper.... especially with the housekeeping and administration fees through Vbro. :(

Peggy we are sorry for your bad experience, we hope all of our guests enjoy their stay. We tried to work with you during the stay to make it better but unfortunately that did not work for you. We have many guests who have wonderful stays and are saddened to hear that was not the case for you.
Pros:
Pet friendly
Early check-in
Cons:
AC didn't work
Couch was dirty (crumbs and pet hair)
Ceiling fan had thick layer of dust
Cobwebs on ceiling
Dust on coffee table/boardgames/chairs
Garbage cans were dirty
Rusty cutlery
Stovetop was dirty
Blinds were broken and didn't cover windows
Screen missing from window
Toilet handle fell off
No shower head
Hole in floor by toilet
Sharp screw heads in shower stall
Weeds on patio
Outdoor chairs were dirty
Please note: Conor (owner) advised me that the "bunkie" would be cleaned before our arrival. It wasn't clean. My husband and I spent 2 hours cleaning it upon our arrival. We hate to complain so we didn't mention this to Conor. However, we did contact Conor about the air-conditioning not working as it was unbearable. My husband and I both suffer from allergies and asthma. We tried troubleshooting the ac. It still didn't work. Conor advised us to open windows. This doesn't help someone that suffers from seasonal allergies. Plus the screen was missing from the window above the bed. We told Conor we might have to leave as we were having a hard time with the warm temp in the "bunkie". Our dogs were also suffering because of this. Conor didn't respond until check-out. He sent us a text saying he assumed everything was ok as he didn't hear back from us. He also said the ac worked fine for him. It doesn't work. Unfortunately, when we booked there hadn't been a review since May. It's so important to leave a review. We go on vacation to relax and enjoy ourselves. Conor doesn't care about customer satisfaction. He did zero to make this situation better. VRBO needs to be aware of situations like this. It isn't fair to the client to pay these fees and not be able to obtain a refund if the renter is not following the proper guidelines. A hotel/motel would've been a much better option in our opinion. Don't stay here.
