Excellent rental

Everything described by previous renters was perfectly accurate and as advertised.. Our stay was exceptional. The location was so very relaxing and there was nothing that we could have wanted or needed. The hosts were very accommodating and we felt very welcomed. The fire pit overlooking the water was so much enjoyed by us. We will be back!!

High Praise for Blue Heron Cottage

Loved this quaint, quiet, private cottage! Check-in and check-out was so easy. The cottage was small and so cozy - perfect for 2. It was spotless, with charming decor and all we needed for our stay. Hosts left a lovely welcome basket with truely yummy treats. The cottage is well named...saw a blue heron every day, and were visited daily by white tail deer. We were interested in some down time so really appreciated the quiet and privacy, but the location would also be great as "home base" for seeing the sights of the South Shore and a bit beyond. We would absolutely recommend Blue Heron Cottage and would happily visit again.

Secluded Paradise

Beautiful comfy cottage in the woods. Quiet location. Roomy bedroom. Had everything we needed. We loved the personal touches and especially the greeting cookies/wine. Wonderful spot to observe wildlife (deer and birds). Rosalie and George were very responsive. Next time we are in the area we will be back.

South Shore Paradise

We walked about the island and came across 3 deer which were beautiful. Took in the sun Sat. afternoon down on the boardwalk then bbq supper. It was wonderful. Thank you again

We are originally from Newfoundland but have made the South Shore of Nova Scotia our retirement location. We enjoy exploring, relaxing and spending time together. We take pride in our property and are always looking for ways to make your stay enjoyable. We are located close (short drive) to the cottage so can be very responsive for any concerns that may arise. We are both professionals - Rosalie worked as a Registered Nurse for many years and George worked for Parks Canada in Visitor Services and Interpretation.

If you are looking to relax from your crazy schedule, seeking new adventures or simply wanting a place where you can unwind then Blue Heron Cottage is where you want to be. We are located within minutes from the UNESCO Heritage site of Lunenburg - you can drive, bike or walk if you are a walker. On Corkum's Island you can enjoy the walk to the end of the island and back. You can also explore the area through day trips. We are within easy reach of sandy beaches and hiking trails. The Cottage has direct access to the ocean and an area where you can relax on the patio with a fire. Watch the sunrises and sunsets and enjoy the wildlife and birds around you.
