The Ultimate Montana Wilderness Experience with Upscale Comfort
Take advantage of winter and book for cross country skiing and snowmobiling and snowshoeing right outside your door. Perfect for one, two or maximum of three couples. In the summer take the pass less climbed in the Whitefish Divide with hard to beat views and no selfie-sticks in sight. There are numerous hikes in the area with no competition for parking or trail space and the North Fork of the Flathead River is accessible 6 miles away at the U.S.- Canada Border if the day's heat calls for a cool down. Glacier National Park is located near-by but access is not ideal with the rough road and 20 mile drive. The area boasts as much if not more wildlife than the park ranging from moose, wolves, bears, and mountain lions to loons, eagles, elk, mule deer, and fox. Biking, hiking, fishing, floating, and driving the backroads up picturesque passes are just a few of the things to do in the area right outside our doorstep. Traveling in numbers is highly recommended and always have bear spray on hand (1-2 per person).
We are located on 50 acres, surrounded by Forest Service land (USFS) (Flathead National Forest) on two sides, and large acreages on the other two sides. We are in the Trail Creek area, which is an historic area in the North Fork, and often less traveled. We also have 68 acres next to Trail Creek for sunning and sitting and listening) to the amazing sounds of Trail Creek only 3 miles away from this property! In the winter perfect of added snowshoeing or skiing.
We welcome you to the absolute privacy of our cozy and warm home in the mountains. It is in excellent condition and has upscale construction with attention to detail. Grand windows are present throughout the house displaying light on the dark grooved flooring and cabinets. It is an open concept with an entryway and a living room with one wood stove and one propane stove, dining room, and kitchen that all share a space downstairs. A 3/4 bath, a laundry/utility/storage room, and bedroom with another Propane fireplace fill the other half of the downstairs area and a garage/game room. The upstairs holds the en suite master bedroom with a double sink vanity and storage, a reading nook, pool table, hangout area around a wood stove, and a place for eating or sitting and talking. There are two decks upstairs and two covered decks downstairs with an outdoor firepit and picnic table. The view's frame the Whitefish divide to the west and Glacier National Park to the east. So bring your reading, bring your arts and crafts, games, cameras, and outdoor gear for summer and winter sports and enjoy your work or relaxation inside or outside the home with Starlink Wi-Fi.

Thank you Kevin, glad you and your wife enjoyed our place.
Property is a beautifully made log home. Remote, peaceful and wonderful escape full of wildlife. Perfect fit for those who love the outdoors and want to explore the North Fork area. Seen, bear, elk, deer and grouse. Wildflowers galore.
House is amazing. If you are looking for solitude and quiet, this is your place. Good communication with owner and she is very helpful. House is clean with all modern conveniences. We loved it! It is way off the beaten path but exactly what we hoped for.
If you want a complete quiet getaway spot, this ones for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our time just enjoying nature. Plenty of opportunity to explore on foot (just remember your bear spray). The house is perfect for 4 people. There are several outdoor seating areas to enjoy the mountain air. We even had some deer run through the property.
The cabin afforded every comfort in such a secluded place. Make sure you drive a vehicle that can handle the very rocky and washboardy roads in Polebridge. Get your groceries and gas in Columbia Falls before you go to the cabin, as there are no groceries or gas stations in Polebridge. The owner, Marguerite Kaminski, responds quickly to any questions.

Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Not what we expected!
No hot water for showers.
Had to boil water to do dishes.
Roads were horrendous.
Pot holes/washboard conditions.
1+ hours to travel 1hour.
Description of conditions was less than optimal

Sorry, Gene, the property was not to your liking or expectations. We have had many satisfied customers.
This is an impressive home in a very remote part of Montana. If you are looking to get off the grid this is your area. Be prepared for a rough drive and be sure to bring all of your supplies as getting to a store is not a close option.
Enjoy this oasis in the woods with plenty of hiking and fishing surrounding you and your guests.

About the host
Hosted by Marguerite Kaminski
Former lawyer, presently an inn owner, mother, athlete, pet lover, snowboarder, former high altitude climber, but most of all I adore the outdoors- up high with blue skies and water nearby, ie, Trail Creek and environs!!!!
Why they chose this property
I would like to share the wonderful quiet and serenity of my area with interested, respectful guests. There is nothing quite like this property with subtle views all around it, the home is quiet, comfortable, and unique with high end furnishings and a great place to reconnect to oneself. It is very accessible to trails with very little if any people and traffic noise. I would like my home to be your home for a little while to allow you to relax from the pressures around you and reconnect to nature once more. Enjoy the simple things in life and simpler ways of living at Trail Creek Retreat.
What makes this property unique
We are located next to s U.S. Forest Service land ( Flathead National Forest) and the Tuchuck Wilderness whose trails boast accessibility and beauty. One can travel the entire Trail Creek Road up and over to the Tobacco River Valley to Eureka, the Rooseville Crossing into Canada, and Koocanusa Lake if time allows. Avoid the crowds of Glacier and noise of town while still being able to enjoy close Flathead River access (6 miles), great trail access, fishing opportunities, and wildlife viewing.
