This beautifully furnished beach home features 4-bedrooms, 3-bathrooms and sleeps up to 12 guests comfortably—with two king bedrooms, one queen bedroom, a full pullout bed and 2 sets of twin bunk beds, there is plenty of room to spread out. Whether you’re chasing waves or chilling in the shade, the layout is perfect for multigenerational families or groups of friends.

This was the perfect beach house for our family’s stay on Tybee Island. Beautiful house, plenty of space for everyone, and short walk to the beach. The hosts were very responsive. If we’re ever back in town, we would love to return!

Amazing House

I absolutely loved the house, it was close to everything including the beach. Extremely clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone. Beautifully decorated with any amenity needed. I would absolutely recommend staying here and plan on returning.

Hummingbird hideaway was the perfect retreat for our family.. it’s cozy yet spacious with all sorts of different areas to hang out ! Wonderful proximity to the beach and restaurants. It was incredibly clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay …it’s a quick drive to experience everything savannah has to offer as well … we will definitely be back .. ten out of ten

Wonderful Hummingbird Hideaway

What a wonderful place. Love the property and management. Just a great place and time that fit our needs. Plenty of room, loved the kitchen, great location to all attractions on the island and Savannah. Am looking forward to next year. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed this VRBO. There was plenty of space to spread out. And conveniently located a few blocks from the beach. We did cook there but there was plenty of baking andcooking supplies. Thank you!

Great time at the beach and easy access to Savannah

Thanks to Lindsay for great hosting. The communications are smooth and quick. The place is a perfect size for our group of 7. We enjoyed the porch, nicely decorated rooms, and spacious bathrooms with good AC. The house has everything any visitors will need. All the water sports equipment, chairs, umbrellas and the carts are very helpful.

Beautiful home close to best Tybee beach!

We have stayed in Tybee the last few years after Christmas and this is our favorite spot so far. This is a spacious and beautifully decorated home on a quiet street right across from the best stretch of beach on the island (mid Beach). The weather was a little colder this year so we really appreciated having the extra indoor space to hang out. Very well stocked kitchen for cooking, good books and games. I highly recommend it!

Home away from home

This spot worked perfectly for our impromptu family reunion. It had plenty of space for all of us (6 adults, 3 kids), and was stocked with great kitchen gear for the night we cooked at home. We took advantage of all the beach stuff (wagons/chairs/easy up/toys) and had a blast every day. Responses to questions were extremely fast and greatly appreciated. 5 stars all around, thanks for having such a great beach house!

Great house!!

Here's your edited review: The house was just as promised—very spacious, so we were able to spread out and relax. It was very clean and comfortable, just a few minutes' walk to a great beach. I had two concerns about renting a house this late in the season. The first was the weather, and we lucked out with great conditions. The second was whether the AC could handle the heat, but the AC in this house was outstanding.

Family vacay

We had an excellent family vacation at the Hummingbird Hideaway. The property was perfect. There was enough space for everyone to have privacy and the house was so quiet! We are a blended family with a variety of ages and it was so nice that everyone could have room to spread out and do their own thing. The home was very well stocked with all the necessities – games, kitchen items, beach items, etc. We rented a golf cart and that was the best advice I got from an Internet blog. We loved going to the beach and going around to the shops and restaurants. We spent a couple days going around Savannah and did the ghost tour and hop on/hop off tour. We will definitely return!

A Sanctuary!

Selfishly I would love to leave a bad review so the property would be available whenever I want to return because I definitely WILL be returning to Hummingbird. This property is charming and full of character that is refreshing and comforting. It has all the amenities you could possibly need and is perfectly situated. We drove here and otherwise never moved the car until check out. And the cherry on top was an exception host who was very helpful with information about the area (that facilitated ease of packing for me with children) and was so welcoming to have even had a gift basket! I really did not want to leave and can't wait to go back.

Spring Break

Very nice, charming, clean and well-stocked home in an older but pleasant neighborhood with a close enough walk to mid-beach to make with children. 2 minutes from a small grocery, effortless check-in. Top floor with master with attached separate sitting room with couch big enough for our 3-year-old to sleep on (would have been perfect for pack-n-plqy also), main floor with hallway with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms not directly connected to bedrooms, lower level with twin bunk and futon not ideal for sleeping but linens and padding provided if needed. Children not able to exit through lower level. Very nice, relaxing screened porch attaching to fenced back yard with picnic table and fire pit for smores. Easy to manage small children and multiple children and families. Very responsive owner. Thankyou!

New Experience and Amazing!

We arrived ready to play! However, home being in the north we got to experience our first tornado siren (x's3) and our first hurricane! Trapped on an island. Then the power went out! Our owners were simply amazing. They were in constant communication with us. They had connections on the island that they put us in touch with to make our stay a true adventure. We even received fresh caught and cleaned fish. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Nothing better than a grilled breakfast. The house was comfortable and clean. The beach is a short walk away and we found more shells than we could take home. The layout of the house is such that we put the two toddlers and their parents in an area where the rest of us could not hear them! Great layout for multiple families. There are not enough words to express what a wonderful time we had despite the weather. I wish I could give the owner 5 plus stars. They made us feel like no matter what we had a life line!

Sweetest cottage just steps from the Ocean!

We had the most wonderful stay here! We were greeted with a lovely gift basket and lots of great recommendations when we first arrived.The house was very clean and TRULY fully stocked. It felt like staying at my aunts home. Everything was very comfortable and while the aesthetic felt warm and cozy, the house has a TON of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy some privacy as well. One of my favorite things was the outdoor shower to keep sand out of the house, but the real WIN was that someone could be using that to rinse off while three other people shower in the three bathrooms and we NEVER saw a single dip in water pressure or hot water. It was FANTASTIC! The front porch is absolutely magical, already decked out with string lights for added evening ambiance, we spent many hours out there talking and enjoying the cool ocean breezes. Every piece of furniture was very comfortable, which was so nice especially for my body that tends to be sensitive and hurt a lot. The house generously comes with lots of beach toys, shade covers, wagons, body boards and so much more. You can truly, just bring your clothes and essentials, as everything else you need is already there! The host was incredible, top notch communication and just as kind as could be! This house actually changed my husband’s mind, from being a “hotel person” to absolutely LOVING this experience! We will be booking again next year, and I will be looking forward to it until then.

Excellent Accommodations and Owner Communications

What a great place! We were scheduled for afternoon check in but we were notified ahead of time that we could check in early without paying extra. Excellent. The driving/parking instructions, and those for check-in were perfect. Upon arrival and looking around, the VRBO pictures were accurate. The house was spotless. There was a gift basket on the table with printed instructions and general information about the area. The location was perfect. Walk two blocks and you are at the beach and main road. Restaurants are along the "main drag" about half a mile from you. Early November we had the area to ourselves. No crowds and one of our days we had beautiful sunshine with mild breezes so walking on the beach was fun. The house has plenty of beach "stuff" - chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, umbrellas/tents, and a wagon for carrying it all to the beach. The host provided beach towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, all linens and plenty of linens in the kitchen as well. She provided extra toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and dish detergent. The kitchen was super complete with utensils, dishes, cookware, etc. It was a wonderful long weekend trip. Four bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was adequate for 2 couples and 2 singles (all over 65). There are stairs to 2 of the bedrooms. There are steps to enter the residence. We had one oops moment and the host handled within 30 min. She was easy to contact and quick to respond. Great trip.

Why they chose this property

The beach here is beautiful and the house is amazing! This property was built post-WWII and used to be the home of the former Tybee Island mayor. It has been well cared for recently decorated to become the perfect beach vacation rental. It is a close walk to the beach, on the bike path, and near everything else. The house is so comfortable with plenty of space to spread out. We really enjoy our "Tybee Time" here and we are excited to share the experience with others.

What makes this property unique

You are a less than 2 minutes away from a perfect sunrise and sunset each day-In the morning hours, just turn left out the front door and walk straight down the road to the beach for breathtaking sunrises, then in the evening turn right out the front door and head down our street to the marsh to view just as beautiful of a sunset.
