50 acre's all to yourself.....and the best sunsets
It will be hard to find a more beautiful southern Ohio landscape and some of the best sunsets you will ever see. If you want to get away, then you'll be right at home with 50 acre's all to yourself. This is a real cabin.....not a house in the woods. Our rustic cabin was built on 1963 and every single log and piece of wood was taken off of the property. This rustic sit's tucked back 1100 feet off of a lazy country road.
Your view from the front porch whether in the morning or evening is nothing short of spectacular, as hundreds of acre's sprawl out in front of you with a 5 mile view.
This is truly a one of a kind place as well as location......perfect for so many types of gatherings: -romantic evening/weekend -family weekend trip: many memories to be made around the fire-pit, on the front porch, and walk the 50 acre's -a guy's or girls getaway -small game hunting with a family member: our 25 acre's of wood are packed with squirrels
In terms of location it's hard to feel so far-out but be so close...... >Our cabin is the closest place to stay from the sought after Longaberger Golf Course, now known as "The Virtues". So whether you are looking to tee it up or a great place to have dinner you will be only 3 miles away. >Downtown Newark and nearby Granville are only 15 minutes and 25 minutes respectively to the west down US 16...... further to the west you can be on the east side of Columbus in the New Albany area in a short 35 minute drive from our cabin. >Dillon State Park and lake is roughly 9 miles to the south right down 146 and only a 10 minute drive. Zanesville is just a bit further down 146 and 20 minutes to the south. >Coshocton Ohio and historic Roscoe Village is only 25 minutes to the east directly down US St Route 16.

Great spot! My only complaint is the non-potable water. It smelled like sulfur so we brought our own 6 gallon buckets to heat water on the stove and used a camping shower pump in an attempt to remain scent-free for archery hunting. Otherwise would have been 5 stars.
Nice, clean cabin tucked away in the trees. Beautiful sky view from the front porch. Even on hazy days the sunset was amazing. The cabin had everything we needed, perfect for my husband and I.
We had a great time at this cabin. Didn’t expect rusty well water, but other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The scenery was beautiful and we loved how secluded the location was. We highly recommend this cabin!
We absolutely loved our stay! The location is stunning and so peaceful—we loved watching the cows and relaxing in the hammock after our hikes. The host was very responsive and made it easy when we decided to stay an extra night. It has a cozy, camping-like vibe but with all the comforts of home. Sitting under the stars and breathing in the fresh air made it the perfect place to unplug and recharge. If you want a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle, this is it! Only small suggestion: update the shower curtain. Also FYI the property runs on well water, but there’s a treatment system in place. It truly is a gem!
Everything was great location was good stayed to go hunting and it was a perfect place for that my only recommendation for improvement would be to add a washer and dryer It rained so we didn’t have a place to dry our clothes but other than that we would stay again
Property was perfect for my son and my little hunting getaway. Close to public land and to restaurants to grab food after a day in the woods. Property manager was super responsive and the place was super clean. Highly recommend
This property is amazing it was very quiet and relaxing , has a great view from the from porch really good a/c.. I would recommend this place to anyone that’s staying in the Newark , Ohio area
Had a very nice time. Peaceful and quiet out in the country and plenty of land to hike around and explore. Cabin was stocked with lots of essentials and thoughtful accoutrements. TV and Internet had no issues. I would stay again and recommend this property for anyone that wants to spend a little time away from the cities and suburbs.
The views from the front porch are just absolutely beautiful, they say a picture says a thousand words but no picture could capture the pure beauty and peace this place offers. The first night the wife and I literally sat on the front porch in the rustic rocking chairs for basically 6 hours just taking it all in. There is a fire pit out back too windy for us to use. But i would imagine it would be peaceful. (Bring your own chair's) Lots of space for kid's to run around,
This was the cutest cabin! The views are breathtaking. The only issue was the smell of the well water, I’m super sensitive to scents. However that does not take away, from the fact that this place is a little slice of heaven. I use to have well water and they have shower heads to help combat that smell, that would be a good addition! I will be booking again
I booked this property on July2, on Aug 6, while on my way to the property, I got a message from the owner that my reservation was cancelled due to a double booking...we didnt know about this a month before?...no offer for discount on another stay/ just sorry, double booked...here is your money back...so had to get a hotel for the night and find another property to rent for the other days...Thank you so much

This is a complete lie. This customer booked for 2022 and did not actually have a reservation. We explained that the mistake was completely on their end and that VRBO could easily verify this.

bad water
We have stayed at many air b&b's over the years but this will not be one we would go back to. The place was cute but the water smelled like rotten eggs. We could not shower or use the water for cleaning dishes or washing our hands, We actually had to go to a nearby campground and pay to use their showers for the entire time we were there. I wish I had read he reviews more carefully. It's really a shame because the place itself was really nice and clean and had a great location. The host communicated well. the only thing I would say to improve on would obviously be the water problem and maybe leaving some information for guests, like nearby restaurants, attractions.

It is truly unfortunate that Janet chose to make these comments after staying for multiple days and not bringing to my attention while she was there. In addition, within the guidebook, there are multiple recommendations for items to do, see in restaurants to eat at.
Amazing little cabin with extraordinary views of the sunset
you are looking to relax, get away from it all, see absolutely gorgeous sunsets and watch the morning light filter through the trees this is the cabin for your getaway! If you want perfect city water and a cabin that’s without imperfections, go stay in a hotel! This place is perfectly imperfect: clean, beautiful, cool (the air works great), it has WiFi, cable tv- with 1 television , and a great outdoor gas grill. It is in the country in Ohio and does have hard well water- if you have skin or smell sensitivity- stay at a hotel somewhere or a house in town. It’s old, no one lives here regularly: you may see a bug, a spider, etc. -it’s a cabin in the countryside at the woods. It is absolutely perfect! You are close enough to Zanesville for Walmart and food delivery if you wish. The property is beautifully maintained and you can see the care for nature by those who do so! A walk around the property will take you back in time and allow peace to fill your heart. The song birds will sing to you all day. Squirrels, chipmunks, and groundhogs will play in the grass for your pleasure and it’s very likely while you’re watching the sun rise through the trees out back or the sun setting from the front porch or the lilly garden, you may miss a deer walking around. Stop the hustle and bustle of life and spend a couple days or more here. You won’t be disappointed! We will be back to visit again!
The front porch and view are amazing - birders paradise! It sits away from the road up a hill. It is all wood on the inside, not a lot of sound privacy with multiple people staying there. Very quiet location-very little traffic and night sounds. It is rural so expect bugs (ants & stink bugs at the time we were there), signs of rodent activity (traps were in various areas) and stains from well water. Main bed was comfortable but noisy when you moved due to the mattress cover. Also no curtains on the windows. Water from the shower didn't have a lot of pressure but did provide a hot shower. There is a cow farm on one side, another neighbor on the other the other, both visual from the property but far away. Open field and woods across the street. Woods with a path to walk behind and at the side of the house. General pots/pans/utensils/cups and glasses available. Bring any toiletries you may need. Fire pit was large and stocked with wood. Autumn was very responsive with communication. We did have an issue with the couch bed - a mouse had taken up storage and was unusable (to our standards). She was very responsive and asked if we wanted to leave with a refund. We did not, found alternative sleeping arrangement. All in all, as long as you know what to expect, it is a nice place to unplug and get away.
The property was exactly as listed. It was a little tight with 4 adult males, however it worked well and it was in a great location. Property manager was quick to provide answers to our questions and even provide a good pizza location.
This cabin was perfect for a golf get away to Virtues. Gas grill and huge fire pit were highlights.
