We had a wonderful time at the farm cottage and Eddie was great in showing us his place. We all enjoyed the bog experience. The place was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. I can't recommend this place enough.
The place was great. Very clean, extremely well stocked with toiletries as well as some food and spices and kitchen dishes. I highly recommend the farm and bog tour with Eddie. He is not only informative but also entertaining and welcoming. Our family would definitely come back.
This cottage was a great place for our home base as we were out on our adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way. We were surprised that they fridge was stocked with basics along with bread, crackers, etc. Eddie was a great host!
We had a great holiday staying @The Cottage, it awas a beautiful authentic cottage ,spotless clean and really comfortable. Ann &Eddie were superhosts, Eddie gave us a tour of the farm and bog and the lads had a go at cutting the turf, he was full of local information and it was very enjoyable. The location was rural but very accessible to everywhere ,we would definitely recommend this as a perfect place to stay for couples and families alike, it had the best of both worlds. We loved the property and EddieJoe is as they say ‘the genuine article’! We were surprised to find the cottage stocked with essentials and more .. we did not need to run to the (very nearby) grocery store. Loved the location and the fact that this is a working farm. I cannot recommend the bog tour enough. I had read about it and had been to bogs before and did not think I would be that impressed or enjoy it as much as we did! EddieJoe gave us the history of the area and even told us stories of my relatives who lived in the next town over. Whenever I am in the area again .. this is where we will be staying!
The cottage was delightful. It felt a world away from everything, but just minutes to anything you might want. Eddie was a friendly host. Would stay there again if in the area.
Difficult to put into words how wonderful this cottage is and the hosts make it even better. The cottage had everything we needed: peat fired woodburner, loads of character in every room, clean and warm. The kids loved the working farm, trampoline and football area. Eddie was amazing! He took time out to show us around the farm and we even cut some peat ourselves. Highly recommend 👌
Big shout out to Eddie and Anne. We really enjoyed our time in their cottage. We learned much from Eddie about Irish farming culture and history. Eddie even harvested some potatoes for us. A perfect VRBO for exploring the northwest of Ireland (especially counties Mayo and Sligo). Double thumbs up from our family. The kids already miss Bonnie the farm dog/soccer ball thief.
Our stay was more than we could have hoped for! We arrived late at night due to a delayed flight. We were concerned because we didn’t know where to stop for milk for the baby or a few breakfast items for the kids. Once we arrived we were greeted by their friendly farm dog Bonnie, and to our exciting surprise, a kitchen fully stocked with milk and breakfast items! The home was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay very much! Eddie gave us a tour of the farm and we even got to try our hand at cutting the bog! Our littles did not want to leave! We hope to be back someday soon!!! Thank you!!!
Terrific stay at end of our tour of the island. Eddie Joe and Anne (and family) were great hosts. We have high regard for the work put into this lovely property.
My friends and I loved our stay at the charming farm! It was so interesting to learn more about the bog on the tour as well. Thank you, Eddie for a great stay during our trip to Ireland.
We loved our days in the cottage, after a long day of travel it was just what we needed. They couldn't have been nicer! Kids had a blast with all the animals and trampoline
This weekend on the farm was the highlight experience of our 21 day trip. Eddie Jo and Anne were amazing hosts with so much to share with visitors. From cutting our own bit of turf to traditional music; from an amazing Cottage built by the man himself to the best doggie hostess (Bonnie), everything was a true treat!
Eddie & Ann were amazing hosts. Very quick communication and the bog tour experience that Eddie provided was a perfect mixture of historical facts and goofing around with the kids. The kids played with Bonnie (their dog) and checked on the barn kittens. I believe the floor was heated which was nice and the house was very cozy. Would definitely recommend.
