The home was incredible. Amazing views, great architecture, and the pool was a hit with the kids. Arthur the owner was great as were the local staff. We elected to have a cook for breakfasts and dinners which was great, too. We will definitely be back.
This was an incredibly special property- far exceeding our expectations. Everything was immaculate and well appointed. We were able to easily prepare meals with all of the house amenities. Each bedroom had a mini split AC unit, which was great for sleeping. During the day, we were in and out of the pool, which was heavenly. You literally cannot beat the views. Gloria, the house manager, was so responsive. Carla, the housekeeper, was delightful and we hired her for two DELICIOUS midday meals. 10 out of 10 vacation.

Good stay beautiful views Wish they had some shade screens but over good experience
The property is beautifully maintained, very clean and comfortable. The family loved having a private pool and spent hours playing together. Restaurants and La Ropa beach are minutes away. Very nice. I would recommend this home.
We stayed at Casa Cascada and let’s just say it’s perfection. From the Infiniti pool, to the large bedrooms and bathrooms, AC in every room and the constant dedicated service of Gloria and Carla our trip was one of the best we’ve ever had! The home is immaculate and we enjoyed every minute of our stay! Thank you!
Stunning sunset panoramas, whales and tropical birds
Casa Cascada was such a delightful, relaxing retreat for our 3 week refresher to the many things we’ve always loved about Zihuatanejo! The Casa’s hilltop views of the Pacific and the Zihuatanejo Bay were a daily delight. The Casa is very well cared for by Gloria, the very congenial and helpful property mgr, and the household staff. Gloria was particularly responsive to anything that needed attention. The owner, Arthur, was also a delight to work on with.
The property was as described. Beautiful view. Nice clean pool. Well-appointed kitchen. Very safe neighborhood. You will need a car or taxi to get anywhere (high up the mountain overlooking Las Gatas beach and the bay.
Art has a beautiful house. The views are spectacular and the private pool is awesome. It was heavily used! Be aware if you don’t have a car you will need to use taxis to get off the hill. I recommend getting one guys number and regularly using them. This is a great place for a family retreat.
Perfect house for our family. We loved the pool, outdoor patio, opening the main level to the outside. Kitchen was amazing for cooking and we appreciated having the washer and dryer. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which was ideal. Carla is an extraordinary chef and takes great care of the house. Be sure to secure reservations at the beach and navigate water supply ahead of time if you are traveling at the holidays. We got lucky on both fronts! Neighborhood is very secure and fun to walk. We also enjoyed the tennis!
This property exceeded our expectations. It was clean and lovely and the perfect place for a week of relaxation and recovery. We had Csrla the cook and housecleaner make several meals for us and they were just perfect. The pool is refreshing and clean and provided refreshment from the heat and sun. Every night we delighted in watching the sun set from the patio. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds and linens were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are large and well appointed with very effective air conditioning. I would go back in a heartbeat.
This is a wonderful house in a gated community in the hills of Zihuatanejo. The views from the terrace are amazing, looking out toward the Pacific Ocean to one side and the bay to the other, with amazing evening sunsets (and even a combination of sunrise and the waning moon in the mornings). The location of the property gives you easy access to lovely beaches, a charming town, and fun day trips, like snorkeling, kayaking, horseback riding and other activities, in the area. The house, including 4 bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, feels spacious, clean and well-equipped and serviced. My wife and I stayed for just over a week together with our two teenage daughters - and we all loved it.
Location has great views up on the hill over looking las gatos and the bay. Nice views of the ocean and watched humpback whales jumping from our pool area. Problem is you are on top of a hill and the walk is long. We got a number of a taxi guy from the gate and if he could not come get us he had friends that could. Jesus would take us to the market and would hang out with us while we got our fresh fish and he would introduce us to all of his friends. He spoke great English and was very helpful. Only reason I gave a three star on check in is our prearranged shuttle from the airport did not show up and the new driver had no idea where we were going
The property was simply amazing, with sweeping views of the ocean. We watched sunsets over the water, whales jumping and playing, and enjoyed the pool. The house was immaculate and beautifully appointed. We highly recommend having Carla come and prepare meals for you, she made the best chille rellenos we have ever had! Gloria is also super nice and checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was going well. We had one hiccup during our stay and Art was fast to reply and went over the top to help get it sorted out (Thanks Art!). The house is a bit away from the beaches, but we enjoyed the solace and views. Taxies are abundant and a ride to most places in town is 100-180 pesos. You can be to playa ropa in about 5 minutes. We did walk down to playas las gatas once and it was a bit tricky, there is a steep dirt path that leads down to beach access. The guards at the gate into calle del vigia were always pleasant and helped guide taxis to the house if it was their first time. If you need an atm with low fees the red one on the far left inside Soriana grocery store only charges 30 pesos. We recommend taking the ferry to isla ixtapa, the coral beach has lovely snorkling and is very gentle for all ages. There is a very nice restaurant that sits right on the shore. Their food and drinks were very good. We cant wait to come back and visit again!
We were more than pleased with our stay at Casa Cascada. As so many others have mentioned, the house is superbly appointed (especially the kitchen) with stunning views. The house is uniquely situated atop a steep hill with views of the both the bay and the open ocean. We were fortunate to see whales from the balcony during many days of our visit. The villa is attractively decorated and comfortable with lovely vegetation and landscaping. We had four adults/two couples staying here and it was a perfect place for us to socialize or have quiet/private time.
We loved spending time by the pool, watching sunsets over the bay, and taking walks a bit further up the hill to watch the sunrise. The neighborhood is quiet. The gate staff were super friendly and helpful.
Carla! Highly recommend a dinner (or more) with Carla. Her cooking is delicious--as good or better than any restaurant in town. She also came twice during our visit for cleaning. Gloria, the property manager, was super helpful and responsive.
This was our first trip to Zihuatanejo and it's already among one of our favorite places in part because of where we stayed. For those new also new to the area: it is about a 10 minute drive La Ropa. We had rented a car and didn't mind the drive. In fact, each trip up and down the hill provided an opportunity for break-taking scenery. We've heard from many others that cabs are super affordable and easily accessible.
This is a special place and highly recommended.
Where to begin! We had a fantastic stay at this casa. The home is gorgeous with a wonderful three-story lay out, and a most stunning view of the ocean. We enjoyed stunning sunsets nightly followed by breathtaking stars. There was always a light breeze, so it was never too hot to enjoy the deck. There were only 4 of us - me, my husband and our two teenagers (13 and 14) - but we made use of every inch of the house and appreciated the spaciousness. The house is bright, airy, quiet, very well kept and comfortable. We purchased groceries at the front end of our stay that kept us supplied for breakfasts and several lunches. We hired Carla, the housekeeper, three nights, and she cooked up fantastic Mexican meals that were among our favorite meals of our trip. It was helpful to have her feasts at the end of touring days. Art was very responsive on the front and back end of our stay and went above and beyond to help us. Gloria, the property manager, was equally responsive and helpful. We felt completely safe in the gated community and the security guards were very friendly and took their jobs seriously. Zihuat is our favorite town in Mexico now. It's quaint, beautiful and not teaming with gringos. Quite the contrary, there's an authenticity to life and the people in Zihuat. Brush up on your Spanish before traveling, as you'll find it helpful for getting around. Also save some money for the end because you'll want to tip a lot of awesome helpers.
Casa Cascada is even better than the pictures. The expansive view is beautiful, the neighborhood is quiet and tranquil, and the house is comfortable and spacious. Communication with both the owner and the property management company was easy, and everyone was very helpful and kind (including Gloria bringing us groceries when my husband was ill). We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
Casa Cascada was a lovely place for our family trip to Zihuatanejo. It was comfortable for eight of us, each bedroom has A/C and en suite bathroom and the common area is spacious. The kitchen is well equipped and everything was in good working condition. The local host was helpful to arrange transportation to and from the airport and purchase groceries ahead of our arrival. We were met at check in and provided specific property information. A house cleaner came every other day and the pool was cleaned twice during our 8-day stay. The neighborhood is very quiet and gated. The views are beautiful. We did not rent a car. We walked to Playa La Ropa (1.4 mi/2.25 km), but used transportation to return up the very steep hill. The helpful gate security can call taxis and there is often microbus waiting close to the gate. Even though this home overlooks Playa Las Gatas the “walking” route could not be accessed so we had to use water taxi service from the Zihuatanejo pier. This was a nice quiet retreat from the busy towns and beaches and we felt very well cared for during our stay.
All I can say is positive… communication with both the owner and the on-site property manager was smooth and friendly; the location of the villa provides an expansive view of the ocean and sunsets. If you like sunrises, a short walk to the top of the hill provides unobstructed 360 degree views. The Villa itself is private, secure, and stunning. Views from all rooms including a couple showers. Very well stocked with kitchen essentials also. We have stayed in many villas and this one ranks near the top. We will be seeking this one out again on future trips to Zihua.
Beautiful home with dual views of the Zihuatanejo bay and ocean!
We just spent 2 weeks at this home and loved it. We had a group of adults and kids so we wanted a private pool and spacious living area. Gloria, the property manager, was in contact w me all week helping with recommendations for fishing and restaurants. Carla and Francisco kept the house in sparkling and lovely condition.
The pool area is gorgeous and fun! We loved watching all the boats and whale spouts from deck. We had a fantastic vacation and can’t wait to return!
We just returned from our fabulous vacation in Zihuatanejo. The home, and breathtaking views, are as gorgeous as pictured. The house comfortably housed the three couples in our party—the open common areas were great for meals and relaxing, while the bedrooms with their own private bathrooms and balconies offered privacy. The patio and infinity pool are amazing, a wonderful way to start the morning and end each day. To be honest, it was hard to pull ourselves aways from the house and pool each day, they were so nice.
The home is located within a secure gated community, in the hills overlooking the town. It's quiet and peaceful, with stunning views. We even saw whales from the pool! The front gate security was very thorough and helpful with calling for cabs when needed. When returning to the house, they would also guide the cabs with a moto to ensure we found the property each time.
Location-wise, it is a bit removed from the beaches and town, and generally requires short cab-rides to get anywhere. It's about a 25-30 minute, steep walk down to La Ropa Beach. If you have any mobility issues, we do not recommend the walk. A cab to Zihua Centro is ~90 pesos; a cab to La Ropa Beach is ~70 pesos; a cab to Playa Linda in Ixtapa is ~350 pesos; and to the airport is ~450 pesos.
The house is well stocked with linens, beach towels, everything you need in the kitchen, pool noodles, and even some board games. The host and onsite staff were great communicators, very prompt, and always helpful. The refrigerator had a cooling issue one day during our stay, and within 30 minutes Gloria and Denise were there with a mini fridge and ice as well as a repairman to fix the big fridge. They made sure everything was working again as fast as possible that day. Carla, the housekeeper, came every 3 days and was very friendly and thorough.
As other reviews have mentioned, the house is located in a very lush surrounding. With having the accordion doors open most of the time, you do need to be mindful of potential insects coming inside. We did have a few strange insects and two scorpions wander in during the evening when the bugs seemed more active. But, just be mindful and you'll be fine.
Overall, we had a wonderful vacation, and would highly recommend this house to anyone!
This house is everything we thought it would be. Very quiet and well kept with comfortable beds and furnishing. We felt very safe in the gated community. There isn't much within walking distance but it's a short cab ride to La Ropa or Zihuatanejo typically costing 70 to 90 pesos per ride. The sunsets here are the most amazing I've ever experienced in my life. I highly recommend this property.
