This was the second time we stayed in the last two years. We will stay again! It is a great house and the property is great and quiet…. I recommend it for anyone.
Out stay was a perfect stay. She is a wonderful host and handled everything accordingly. We definitely plan on staying again. Its a slice of West Virginia Heaven!
We enjoyed our stay, the house was well stocked and clean. We have been here twice before and this trip was just as enjoyable. The host is easy to communicate with, the Wi-Fi worked well and we liked hiking around and playing by the pond.
We were in town for a family reunion and this home was a great place to stay. From the spacious house, the fire pit and the beautiful surroundings, it was pretty close to perfect!
We really enjoyed the house and location. It was well maintained, clean, and in a really nice area. We have family nearby and the location made visiting Pickens, Helvetia, and Hacker Valley easy as convenient as can be for this part of Randolph County.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet this offers. The cabin was clean and comfortable! There is a fire pit with comfortable chairs, a great covered back porch to enjoy morning coffee. The drive in was beautiful.
Was clean and neat. Owner was helpful and very friendly. Easy to book and instructions about the rules of the place was easy to understand. Recommend highly
The cabin is gorgeous! Very spacious, super clean and well maintained. From spending quiet mornings on the back porch watching deer to sitting by the cozy fire pit at night roasting marshmallows, we loved every minute we spent here at the Blackberry cottage and can’t wait to return soon. It was truly a mountain paradise!
We have stayed at this property 4 separate times. My family and I love everything about this home and the beautiful property that it sits on. Cheryl, the property owner and host is absolutely wonderful.
This was our third time staying at this property and each time we love it even more! Absolutely beautiful home and property. Everything is so comfortable and clean.
The property owner is very kind and helpful. We will definitely be back again next year!

Absolutely wonderful. We had a birthday party, which included 4 of us who styed at the cabin plus 16 guests and there was more than enough room for everyone. And everyone just loved the cabin. In fact, it may become a yearly outing!!!
My friends and I spent a week at the Blackberry Cottage in April 2025. The cabin is super comfortable and located to so many great WV destinations. This is the second time we stayed at this particular cabin. Just like the previous time, the cabin was spotless when we arrived and exactly as advertised. The property manager is amazing. When the internet connection dropped, we contacted her and she called within minutes with a solution. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be coming back.
This is such a nice property. We visited for a weekend to do an overnight tour at the TransAllegheny Lunatic Asylum and didn't want to stay in a hotel. This was about an hour away. We liked it so much, we are looking to do a return trip specifically to visit this property again just to relax. Owner was kind and promptly replied to email requesting firewood.
Being originally born in Weston 73+ years ago, living in Ohio most of my life, it’s always good to get back to WV. Your cabin was the perfect size for a family of 7. Price was right, like the online pics, no surprises, just as expected. We hope we left it as you would want, we’ll be back.
We have stayed at this property twice and each time my family and I have the most wonderful experience! Cheryl is such a kind and wonderful host and there are no words to describe how amazing this property is except perfect in every way. It means so much to my family and I that we can bring our fur babies with us when we visit Mountain Paradise and I want to thank Cheryl for that privilege! We will be back to visit this property again as it has become one of my family’s favorite places to be!
Thanks again Cheryl!
We had a great time at the house.
Location is great to enjoy the WV wildlife center and visiting the charming village of Helvetia ( the Hutte restaurant is delicious- cash/check only!).
The property was nice - the firepit was great and the boys enjoyed fishing.
The other property is close by- which may effect star gazzing if lights are on; and noise does travel.
Cheryl was easy to communicate with and very responsive!
Clean home with all of the necessary items. I feel a binder with the necessary information regarding TV operation, microwave, oven and washer and dryer. Seniors struggle with the operation of new or unusual appliances and televisions. Cheryl as very friendly, accommodating, and responded quickly to our requests for information. WIFI was available and worked well. Cellular service was not available at the house. Deer, Turkeys, Geese and birds were present or could be heard daily. The Whippoorwill's were singing morning and night. Spring is a great time of year. We had 7 adults so the available beds were just right. Home can sleep 11 in the available beds and there is the couch too. Rear wood deck has 6 chairs and a table and there are 5 Adirondack chairs around the firepit.
