The Kinsella/James family lives in Washington, DC. We have three daughters. Edgar James is an attorney and Katherine Kinsella was a communications professional. We are now retired and when not in DC or Mexico, we travel to other places.

We have traveled all over Central American. When we saw this property we fell in love with it, and purchased it in June 2012. What I especially like about the property is how quiet and relaxing it is. We are 12 miles from Puerto Escondido, which gets busier each year. I love that we can be here with basically no one on the beach and yet pop into Puerto for dinner or shopping whenever we want. With the new highway we are only 3 hours from Oaxaca.

Why they chose this property

Casa Tres Azules is situated on an acre of palms and flowers. It is totally private with a virtually empty twelve mile beach in our front yard and easy access to Puerto Escondido, which is a very special place for those who want to be in an authentic, small Mexican city with great restaurants, amazing surfing, people, and things to do.

What makes this property unique

At our home we spend the days on the beach walking, swimming laps in our crystal clear pool, having cocktail sunsets and BBQ's. The deep sea fishing out of Puerto is extraordinary with Marlin, Dorado and other assorted fish. Our home is very comfortable including all pillow-top beds that our guests say are the more comfortable than home. We have high speed wireless internet and satellite TV with hundreds of channels. Town is twelve miles away which keeps it very quiet. We are in a secure, gated small community of only twelve homes. There are many great restaurants in town and a really nice new super market, not to mention the Mercado featuring local merchants, which is a must see.
