About this property

Private house built by our parents on a small, spring fed, private glacier lake

Hexagonal open living and dining area with a fieldstone fireplace and view of a private lake. The lake is family-oriented for water activities with no gas powered engines. Perfect for canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. Beautiful sunrises to the east and sunsets in the west. Country roads for leisurely walks.
Extra sleeping areas in addition to 2 bedrooms with queen-sized bed in each. Small
study with full pullout and living room with queen pullout sofa. Full size washer and dryer. Dishwasher. Gazebo and outdoor picnic tables, grill and fire pit.
Vespers is a tradition over 100 years old takes place on Sunday evenings as cottagers join in their boats at the buoy in the center of the lake for a non ecumenical Service sharing thoughts, hymns and a time of meditation.
Quiet lake with consideration for neighbors, noise curfew at dark.
If you are interested in fishing, go to www.huntfish.pa.gov to obtain a fishing license on line or you may purchase a license at the local store, Preston Country Market.
The property is about 3 hours from New York City , Philadelphia and Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Elk Mountain Ski Resort is about 20 miles away. Greek Peak Ski Resort is 76 miles away. Montage Mountain Ski Resort, Stadium and the Pavilion at Montage is 53 mile away and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for concerts is about 42 miles away. Honesdale , PA is a quaint rural town with lots of shopping and concerts in the park during the summer months. Then you get to return to the house and relax by the lake, which is beautiful and remarkable in any season.

This cottage is magical. It boosts lots of lake front for guests to relax and an open, airy feel on the inside where guests can spread out. It was very clean and full of many places to take in the view of the lake. We made many memories here and would stay again.

This property was beautiful... in every room of the house was a view or the lake! The fishing was awesome caught bass catfish sunnies....Judie was a pleasure to work with she was very responsive to my texts and messages. We got to check in early which definitely was a plus. There is no bad thing I can say about our stay!!! There was a little market 5 minutes away which i got some gas and groceries....we will definitely be back and cant wait!

Such a lovely home. We had a wonderful time at this lake house. The lake was beautiful, the neighbors were friendly, and there were plenty of amenities. We fished, canoed, grilled, used the fire, etc. we did it all and had a great time. Would love to stay here again!

Peaceful on the lake

We had a fabulous stay at this adorable lake home. We enjoyed morning coffees on the lake, kayaking, laying in the sun lakeside and swimming. The house was clean and comfortable and we can’t wait to stay again.

Great Place to Stay

Judie was so kind. The view of the lake was excellent. Such a relaxing vacation. Watching the geese, otters and other wild life was awesome! Swinging in the hammock was the best could not have found a better lakehouse! We would absolutely recommend tbis lovely cottage!

Relaxing and Beautiful

Our Family came to ski at Elk Mountain for Pres Wknd. We were lucky to find this beautiful home only 1/2 hour from the slopes. Perfectly sited with a gorgeous view of a small lake, the house is fully renovated and super clean. Welcoming and responsive hosts! Would definiitely stay here again.
