About this property

Enjoy our beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bath house nestled in the hills below Elk Mountain! The spacious, family-friendly (and pet-friendly) home is a quick 2-minute drive from the ski resort—with views of the slopes from our back windows.

The updated farmhouse features: a large, well-equipped kitchen with a wood-burning fireplace and large dining table; comfy living room with widescreen, smart-TV; cozy family room with games, books and tranquil views of the yard, pond and surrounding hillside. The mudroom offers storage for boots, skis and other outdoor equipment, as well as a washer and dryer for your wet gear. And we have a single-car garage for easy loading/unloading in snowy weather.

The bedrooms include: extra-large master bedroom on the first floor with king bed and ensuite bath; front bedroom (second floor) with 1 queen bed and 1 full-size futon; back bedroom (also on second floor) with 1 full-size bed and 1 single bed. The second full bath is located on the first floor, just off the kitchen. Towels and sheets provided for your comfort and convenience.

The 3-acre property is on a small, rural road. Tall pines, oaks and maples shade the house. Out back, the grassy yard circles a large, stream-fed pond that is home to bullfrogs, ducks, fish and the occasional otter. Unwind with family and friends around the campfire.

The Endless Mountain Region in North Eastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) is a great destination for any season. Of course in winter, our home is the perfect base for a family ski trip! The short drive (2 minutes!!) to the mountain, makes for easy return trips for lunch, naps, etc. Elk Mountain Ski Resort offers the best slopes in PA, with exceptional snow-making, excellent ski/board school, and a perfect balance of beginner, intermediate and expert trails. We are also just a few miles from snowmobile and ATV trails.

In spring, summer and fall, hike or bike the trails at Elk Mountain or the expansive network of NEPA rail-trails. Paddle down one of the local creeks, play Frisbee golf at Prompton State Park, go antiquing in the nearby towns of Honesdale or Hawley, or just sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet. Whatever you choose to do, our house makes a great home base!

Great ski house close to Elk Mt

We enjoyed our stay in this roomy and comfortable house just 5 minutes from Elk. The kitchen was well-equipped so that we could prepare all our meals "at home." Very quiet area. We were thankful that the road the house is on had been cindered and the driveway plowed. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and there were two living rooms for socializing. Highly recommend this house for a group of friends and for families.

A Great Place for a Ski Vacation

The place is great and you can’t get much closer to Elk. The house was plenty of room for a family of four to hang out together but also get some space. The hosts were super responsive to questions and the house had pretty much everything you need.

Weekend Summer Rental

My husband and children, along with my two brothers and their spouses, rented this house for the weekend to be nearby to where my dad was getting remarried. The location was great as we were only four miles from the event. The house was very clean and cozy. Everyone had a bed and plenty of space. We all loved the house and my kids asked about staying here again. They especially loved the board games in the game closet and meeting a few horses that one of the neighbors had out walking on the dirt road. I grew up in this area and know it well. I appreciated the reasonable rate that we were charged to rent the house. The views of Elk and the green space around the house were an added bonus. We all agreed that we would stay here again. Finally, I really appreciated the clear communication with Eva and the quick replies to any questions I had. Overall, this was a very positive experience. Thank you!

This house is in the perfect location right next to Elk Mt. It was clean and decorated adorably. We took walks along the gravel road, built fires in the firepit, and fished in the pond. There are a lot of bass in the pond. We had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave.

Great location when visiting Elk mountain. The house was clean and check in process seamless. Easy to find. Wifi worked well. Cozy touches throughout the house. We enjoyed our stay. Would consider bringing blankets as it was chilly (temp set low) when we checked in but warmed up quickly with the heat.

Mission Accomplished!

We had an amazing weekend--a longtime goal of a ski weekend with college friends and their families--finally happened. The house was perfect for our needs, very cozy and perfect location. The snow while we were there was the icing on the cake. Very clean and very well stocked kitchen. Only suggestion would be for heavier bedding in master bedroom for winter months, the flannel sheets were nice but we could only find 2 blankets in the drawers plus the throws throughout the house and it was a little drafty. Thank you for providing a wonderful getaway for our families!

Great spot

Had a really lovely time staying at the ski house - super quick access to Elk and very cozy. Stairs to the secondary bedrooms are a little steep so we had our kiddos bunk in the primary bedroom where they had their own bathroom and it worked out perfectly. Hope we can stay again soon!

Wonderful weekend away!

My family and I absolutely loved this home. It's a tastefully redone farmhouse with tasteful and unique decor. It was absolutely spic and span when we arrived (and my sister and mom are FUSSY!). This was the cleanest refrigerator that we have ever had in a rental property. The family really loved the pond in the back for fishing and caught many bass and other fish! The pond is very close to the house, so if you are bringing pets, be sure to have a plan to keep them out of it if you don't want swamp monsters. Thankfully, a garden hose was available for when ours dove in immediately after getting out of the car! We also loved the books and games in the home - all our family (ages 5 to 64) were able to find something we loved and spend time together. We didn't even turn the TV on once! One important note: this is on a gravel road and the traffic goes shockingly fast! The house is close to the road, so be sure to keep a close eye on pets and kiddos. The gracious hosts left a note about this (thank you!) and they were NOT kidding! We would definitely stay again! The kids are already asking when we're going to go back.

Romantic get away

Nice property. My husband caught some nice pumpkin seed fish and large mouth bass in the pond. We had some minor issues but the owners were accommodating and helpful. I was hoping for a little privacy, but the home is bordered by other homes.
