An affordable family vacation is waiting for your family! Just steps to Lake Missaukee, this completely updated 2 bedroom,1 bathroom home will offer years of "up north" memory making with your family and friends. The home offers lots of sleeping space for everyone, closets , a large shower and double vanity in bathroom and lots of space to lounge both inside and outside!.
You'll have access to a clean private, shared sandy beach area just steps away, where you will find chairs on the beach, but also a wagon at the cottage for your belongings, an umbrella, additional chairs and beach towels for your use. There are some stairs down to the beach, with a landing area halfway down.
With ample parking spaces, this conveniently located cottage is about a 10 minute walk to closest gas station, and a 5 minute drive to a local grocery store. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials including, cookware, utensils, blender, pantry items coffee maker(traditional or icup). Or, if you prefer, there is a grill in backyard, along with a firepit, perfect for hamburgers, hotdogs, and smores! At the end of your day, snuggle up by the firepit and watch the stars, play a game of cornhole or have a movie or game night in the full basement, where you'll find board games, card games, a smart tv and dvd's. We have a fenced in backyard area for your pet friend if you bring them along, (pet fee charged), we just ask you clean up after it at the end of your stay.

Great place and close to the lake!

Our family of four (kids 2 and 4) stayed here and it was great! Very clean and a short walk to the lake. Having access to the garage and wagon was really nice as we could keep all of our lake gear in there each night before heading back to the lake the next day. We loved the lake! Would stay here again!

Peaceful Retreat

The house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed for a weeklong stay. The property manager was excellent. We enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood and close proximity to the beach, as well as being able to explore Lake City and Cadillac!

Perfect little house close to the beach.

This property was very clean and better in person. Open floor plan and finished basement we’re nice. The only thing we didn’t have was air conditioning which was ok the week we were there since it was a cooler week. Definitely would recommend to friends and stay again!

Clean and modern little cottage

This was our 3rd year staying in Lake City but this was our favorite property to stay in! Clean and modern, this cottage has what you need! I loved having access to a washer and dryer, it made packing for a family of 4 for 7 days so much easier! The walk to the private beach was short and we enjoyed our time in the water. My family would highly recommend staying at this property!

Cozy and convenient

This cabin was not too far from the main road and had easy access to the beach. Four adults in this space worked well, but I’m not sure I’d want any more than that. The kitchen was well-stocked. We feel that we could stay there again in the future.

Great place for a family getaway

We enjoyed our stay! The house was perfect for what we needed. We loved being able to walk to the beach. It was a bit windy but the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and walking through the water looking for minnows. For those bringing fur babies be aware that the hard is not fully fenced in. Make sure you bring a tie out! Thank you to the hostess for a great stay!

The lake was great.

I'm not usually a negative person but it felt like this host wasn't used to the process. We have stayed in Airbnb and Verbo both. There weren't any instructions about procedure. We had a pretty long wish list of things that would have made a stay more functional. I would suggest that she stay in the place with a few friends to get a feel for her place. Many things were quite nice really. Linens were nice, a nice set of dishes (but were odd proportions). Needed reading lamps, more hooks, mirrors outside the bathroom. She somehow didn't feel very much like a host in terms of friendliness. It felt cold somehow. I hope she goes over the place with an eye to little comforts, not just shampoo. Thanks for your patience.

Fantastic Lakeside Family Rental

We booked this home to visit with family who stay on the lake every year. It was perfect for what we needed. The kids loved the bunk beds, we were able to do some laundry, and the house is a short walk to the lake. The kitchen has all the necessities including soaps, baggies, plastic containers, salt and pepper-one of my kiddos has severe food allergies so I was grateful for these extras when prepping food for him before family gatherings at the other house! The home is newly updated and sparkling clean. Great place for a lakeside getaway!

Great Lake house

Nice place to stay in a beautiful town lake house is not on the water you have you walk out front and down a side street but you have access to the beach front and they have chairs down there and all the beach stuff you need towels wagon sandals etc … the house was big enough for the family but the beds were small and uncomfortable big bathroom with space nice basement with washer and dryer. The house has 1 ac window unit upstairs in living room if it’s hot the window u it does not cool it down had to buy 2 big fans for the rooms also fans are there just not enough lol House was great would love to stay again the lake access and views are worth it.

Great little getaway!

My Family stayed here for a week this summer-great spot just a short walk from a beautiful lake! The house wasn't perfect, but was definitely sufficient for our needs. PROS: -Great communication with the house manager, and check-in/check-out super easy- we had no issues. -kitchen and bathroom were recently updated -neighborhood was quiet and very short walk to the beach, it was nice to have the wagon/beach chairs there for us, and even the beach towels! -Loved having the washer/dryer on site to help with our laundry as we stayed for an extended time. A few notable items: -Kitchen didn't have any spices/condiments at all ( so be prepared to bring them). not a big deal, but good to know before you go. - The Beds are not very comfortable and very noisy when you roll over. - Backyard not completely fenced off- so make sure you bring a cord for your pet ( we always do anyways, but also just good to know). Overall we had a great time and would definitely return!

Lake City getaway

The house was clean and nicely furnished. There was an adequate number of beds for our family although the master bed was a tight squeeze to get in and out of for one guest. (Realize the bed had to be situated this way to utilize the trundle). It was thoughtful to have a basket of swim towels and flip flops for guests to utilize. Guests need to be aware that the neighboring houses are extremely close to the property. The neighbor's porch light shines into the main bedroom and we could hear when cat kibbles were dumped into the cat bowl. Lake access is accurate as shown in the picture above however, this patch of beach is literally surrounded by private homes and their beach access and multiple docks (not all shown). We felt as though we were intruding on private backyards and ended up swimming at the public Miltner Beach. Maybe other guests would not be bothered by this access. The listing agent was responsive to our inquiries although we were disappointed in her response to "go out and purchase another propane tank & more toilet paper. You will be reimbursed". Best practice would have been to have the items delivered to the guests. And, we are still awaiting reimbursement for the TP rental was supposed to supply. We don't fault the agent for the empty propane tank. Not something we ourselves check at home on a regular basis. We just altered our dinner plans and did not have a cook out. While nice we would search for an actual lake house next stay.

Great stay!

The house is well taken care. Neighborhood was nice and quiet and location to beach is great. We really enjoyed ourselves and was happy to be able to find a place that was peaceful.

Clean, convenient and easy

The cottage was very clean and conveniently located right off the road in a quiet neighborhood. My only complaints were the Nextdoor children who I found in the yard, once in the landscaping under our bedroom window. Also, I couldn’t find dishwasher detergent to run a load and there was only 1 Tide pod for a single load of laundry. If I knew I had to bring my own supplies I would have, since the washing machine and dryer was an added bonus. Lastly, the bed in the MB was very uncomfortable and very noisy every time you moved. Otherwise, we were very satisfied with the rental and the owner was very responsive and easy to work with.

Cute house by the lake

You could tell the house was newly remodeled and was super cute. Had a nice little back yard with a fire pit that we used. Short walk to the beach area that we had to ourself! Owner even has a beach wagon, beach towels, flip flops and umbrella for your use. There were 6 of us total and the best part was that ALL 6 of us could shower and the 6th person still had HOT water!! We had a blast visiting MI! The lakes are absolutely gorgeous.
