Host was responsive and very helpful. Home was perfect for ur family of 5. Very clean and nice. Incredible location.Yummy breakfast every morning and staff was incredible too! I would highly recommend this villa!
We had a great time. The staff is super friendly, pool was cleaned everyday and maintained, breakfast hit the spot. Walking distance to the hot spots and night life, would definitely recommend and do it again.
Located in the heart of the old city, you’re minutes away from the best restaurants. Every room is beautifully decorated and has its own temperature control. House staff was very attentive, we had amazing breakfasts every morning, and 24 hour security.
The house is as advertised and the location is unbeatable. Britus and Luis are incredible and will make your stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Britus makes the best breakfast!! Ac works and the manager had excellent customer service
Our family really enjoyed our trip to Cartagena! The experience we had with the team at the villa was top notch. They went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and made our stay very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here for the location, aesthetic, food, pool, etc. Thanks so much!
Stayed with 7 friends - Sebastian was very helpful with suggestions for my excursions prior to our stay and gave me some advice which I appreciated. The villa was exactly as pictured and even better. The artwork was amazing. There was a “butler” 24-7 if we needed help and breakfast included was a nice plus. Everything was within walking distance to hit all the main spots with gestamani area maybe 15 min walk and clock tower 5-10 mins. Definately recommend. Very clean
This house was perfect for our group of 9 (adults and kids). Their house staff was so kind and helpful with anything we needed. The location couldn’t be better…we feel very grateful for the entire experience. It was the perfect retreat while still having access to everything within a couple blocks.Highly recommend!
Perfect location for visiting all parts of the city. Friendly, amazing, helpful staff. Each bedroom is it's own little suite with a bathroom, some with walk in closets. Others had a dresser, but could use a suitcase stand. The dining table served as a good place for the family to hang out together, especially since it was right next to the pool. We very much enjoyed the historic feel of the villa, the artwork, and the attentive staff.
We loved our stay. The house is perfectly located, and the staff were terrific. The thing that really stands out is the fascinating art that is all over the house, but particularly in what we called the "Art Room," which you can see on the website. We spent a lot of time in there, and our 6 month old grandson literally could not take his eyes off the art.
We spent my wife’s 70th birthday at casa Gill. It was a terrific stay, Sebastian was very responsive and was great for recommendations whether meals sites to see or boat destinations. The house team of Bri, Eni and Luis were terrific and very patient with us and the grandchildren. The place is fantastic, the pool very welcoming and needed. Overall a great birthday celebration
My family and I enjoyed our time in this wonderful villa. Surrounded by art and quiet elegance, we were able to enjoy my daughter's wedding, to become more aware of the old city and to experience Colombia in a way that we could not have done in a hotel. Bridis and Luis were attentive to our needs and welcoming at every moment. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfasts delicious. We found ourselves regulars at two nearby restaurants where we could not have asked for better food or service. Beauty, hospitality and culture were the environment in which we spent a special week.
Our host, Sebastian, and the staff were wonderful and the location was fantastic, but the house needs some work and has a very funky layout. The main room pictured is really not connected to the rest of the house. For some reason, they sealed the archway that connects it to the dining area. The hotub is really a big bathtub. The terrace is accessible only through the 4th bedroom and there is very little storage in the 3rd and 4th bedroom. The plants are also not in good shape throughout the property. This could be a 5star but needs reworked. For this price, there were many more properties nearby that were better!
Quaint while expansive property that has the common areas downstairs (kitchen, dining area, pool, foyer, art room, 1/2 bathroom) and 3 of 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor - each with their own full bathroom. Higher up on the 3rd floor is 1 more bedroom that is also the access point to the rooftop patio (also has a jacuzzi/hot tub but cold water only).
House staff are friendly and not intrusive, providing a great breakfast to start your day - also able to do laundry if you provide the detergent/fabric softner.
Location is excellent - just down the street from an active plaza with plenty of dining, horse-drawn carriages and all the hustle and bustle of nightlife. Being just outside the action is nice in that noise wasn't an issue but everything is close by (including an Exito grocery store, a charming art cafe practically next door and some excellent ice cream/gelato options).
Would certainly stay again if in town.
The house was more beautiful than any of the pictures online. We were greeted by the door upon arrival by our house host(Luis)! All three of our house host were amazing and attentive. The amazing ladies who cooked breakfast every morning were kind and courteous. Luis was great with helping around the house and last minute reservation for a boat rental. The ladies were also kind enough to book massages for 5 people at the house. It was so amazing! All the rooms were kept clean and cool during the day. The pool was a highlight for our trip and we spent many nights in it. The location is prime for the walled city. No taxi required. I don’t know how much more I can say about this wonderful property!
We stayed here as a group for a wedding, and had a wonderful time. The staff Bridis and Luis were very friendly and accomodating, and quick to address whatever we needed with some quick translating. The breakfast every morning was so so delicious, I miss the daily arepas and juice especially! The rooms were very cool and a relief from the hot and humid Cartagena weather, no issues with temperature control. The street was a picturesque quieter one in the area, which was nice to return to after a long day in the town. The pool area is of course in open air, so we did have a minor ant issue that trickled to a bedroom, but the staff was quick to handle and remove with some spray, which solved the problem.
Sebastian was super easy to communicate with, and very quick to allow us to check out a bit later as our flight was in the afternoon - which was so kind.
Overall a great and safe stay for a group, with a ton of convenience and amazing service!
Celebrated my birthday with 10 family members. Casa Gil was the perfect choice for us with its beautiful turquoise door [ the most photographed ] and amazing location. Close to everything. We walked everywhere. Sebastian was so responsive and flexible. The staff could not be sweeter. Luis was attentive with a warm smile, good heart and genuine nature. Breakfast was always a treat. The best dinner we had was when we asked them to cook for us. I highly recommend Delsy the massage therapist. Best massage I ever had. My family her busy. I had one everyday. I will miss that the most. Can't wait to go back .
The Villa is a gem conveniently located in the old city, Bridis/ Enid/ Louis staffed the home 24/7 and we’re genuinely kind people who made our stay very comfortable. Every room had comfortable beds and all the amenities you would want for a short stay. The dipping poop next to the main dining area added the special sauce to our long days when you come home but and hungry. This villa is a must if you are looking for a true Cartagenan experience.

Hosted by Sebastian Seba Gil
I’m Sebastian, born and raised in Cartagena. Casa Gil Art Boutique has been in my family for generations — my grandfather Eladio Gil created Cartagena’s iconic India Catalina monument, and his legacy lives in every corner of this home. Hosting guests here is my way of sharing that history and love for this city.
Why they chose this property
San Diego is the most coveted neighborhood inside Cartagena’s Walled City — colonial, walkable, and alive. The Clock Tower, Las Bóvedas, La Serrezuela Mall, the best restaurants and rooftop bars are all within 3 to 5 minutes on foot. There is no better place to feel the soul of Cartagena.
