"Lou Cambrou" Cottage/Gîte located in the historic quarter of the Fortress of Najac

The village of Najac is one of the most beautiful villages in France.

The cottage - Lou Cambrou - takes its name from its geographical location.
In Occitan, Cambrou means small room under the roof, so it was logical to give it this name. It is in the heart of the village and has just been completely renovated. It is located just below the Royal Fortress, is facing south, offering a breathtaking view of the Aveyron gorges below.
The La Forteresse district is very quiet and offers a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere.
Inside the cottage, a typical Najac atmosphere with stone walls and exposed beams as well as woodwork will welcome you.
The entrance to the cottage also serves as a small private terrace with a slate floor and a plant cover where you can put a table with two chairs that are at your disposal to enjoy the outdoors.
Tones that are both natural and warm, soothing and soft will accompany your stay.
It will take you 2 minutes to access the Fortress and enjoy the view of the village and the valley. From there, and less than 5 minutes away, you can relax on the terrace of the Tangana located 150m below, opposite the church. It regularly offers open-air concerts on the square in front of its catering point.

The village of Najac is one of the most beautiful in France for walking. The landscape is deeply cut by the winding gorges of the two rivers Viaur and Aveyron. The valleys are wooded and quite wild, but easily accessible by clearly marked walks. The fine and varied domestic architecture is full of beautiful clusters of houses in hamlets and villages often perched, such as the Medieval Fortress, on prominent strategic points above the rivers. Within a few kilometres of Najac there is a wide variety of points of interest, Roman bridges, abandoned copper mines and bastide towns such as Villefranche-de-Rouergue and Cordes-sur-ciel. The months of April, May, June, September and October are recommended for hiking. Birdwatching here is excellent. Canoeing, climbing and other sports are also available. River swimming is a must and safe for all ages.

Village: In the village there are café bars, a bakery, stalls, a supermarket, a newsstand and a doctor. Good restaurants in all price ranges and a summer night market on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings all year round. The municipal swimming pool and tennis courts are open in summer.

Najac is well connected by train. There are daily services to and from Toulouse, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Figeac, Rodez and Paris.

Toulouse airport is 1 hour 30 minutes from Najac and Rodez airport is 1 hour away.
