Welcome to the Grand View Retreat, where 30 foot walls of windows bring iconic views of Kachemak Bay, the Alaskan Mountains, Cooks Inlet, Dixon Glacier, Portlock Glacier, Grewingk Glacier, and the famous Homer Spit right into your living room. At night the moonlight casts shadows on the water and mountain peaks, and lights glowing on the nearby Homer Spit fill the sky.
Three living rooms, three view decks, a chef’s kitchen, parking for ten and 5,200 sq. ft. of indoor space provide plenty of area for the entire extended family and friends to relax and unwind after a day catching their limit of halibut or salmon, hiking Kachemak Bay’s gorgeous trails, or taking a trip on the Danny-J wooden ferry to Gull Island and Halibut Cove across the bay. After socializing with your group, enjoy some quiet time in one of the 6 private bedrooms and clean up in one of the 4 bathrooms, including two with ensuite 2 person jacuzzi tubs. With so many unique spaces the Grand View Retreat is Homer's #1 destination for both family game nights and romantic getaways, expansive views and cozy retreats.
The Chalet is located just 9 miles outside Homer, the Halibut Capital of the World and a renowned artist and foodie haven. Being just outside of town means you can safely view Alaskan wildlife from the 3 expansive wood decks in the Chalet, including bears, our resident moose family, and bald eagles; or walk along the Spit and look for seals, otters, and the occasional whale. Your friendly and knowledgeable hosts have owned and operated the Grand View Retreat since 2005, and are available by phone or email 24/7. We hope you enjoy your stay in the most unforgettable property in Homer!
*Notes: The Cozy Corner Cabin (a studio attached cabin) is rented separately from the Grand View Resort, and is on the same property.
