About this property

Making Memories on North Long Lake

Northwoods cabin on beautiful North Long Lake with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and over 1600 finished square feet including a large kitchen, den, and family room! However, the best part is that this cabin is a level lot only steps away from a new 20x40 sandy beach in April of 2021! Hours of fun for little ones to play in the sand!

The enticing, private lakeside has beautiful shallow water. The Northwoods feel of the cabin is also wheelchair accessible with a large ramp on the street side. The large master shower has a bench and a large doorway. There is a large yard for sunny day yard games and cool evening bonfires!

This property is close to BIR, and assorted Brainerd activities include many golf courses, biking trails, shopping, restaurants, go-carts, and miniature golf! Winter ice fishing on our lake has been wonderful and we are close enough to visit nearby lakes within just minutes. During the summer we provide 2 tickets to the race event at BIR so you can go check it out if you prefer!

** The weekend of June 22-24, 2023, is the Lakes Jam country music festival!

**The weekend of August 17-20., 2023 is the NHRA Drag Racing Event at BIR and will be loud and very fun! Most other weekends at the cabin are quiet and you will barely notice any sound from there, but the Nationals will be a much different event! Many people from around the country come back every year to this event! Two tickets are provided with rental each weekend!

We hope you enjoy our lakeside home! It is perfect for water activities, young children and old alike! There is a paddleboat, kayak, and 2 paddleboards for your use while at the home. A beach for kids to play to build sand castles while you enjoy some wonderful family time. If you choose to bring your boat, there are three boat launches close by with the closest, being just 1/2 mile away!

Family trip to lake

We had the most wonderful time at this cabin. It was in a perfect location and had everything you need right on sight. The hosts checked in during our stay to ensure we were having fun and found things in the house. The beach is perfect for kids to play in the sand all day. This is a perfect family getaway and we will definitely be back.

Great Stay Behind B.I.R.

This is the second time staying at this VRBO for our annual work trip to the area. Just like last year the check in process was smooth and the cleanliness of the property was stellar. The house has a wonderful porch to spend your time outside grilling and a good-sized yard for some backyard activities. I am sure we will be staying there again on our next trip to the area!

Nice cabin with a great host!

We stayed for a week this summer at this cabin and it was great! It was spacious, clean, and the host was amazing and easy to get a hold of. Attractions were nearby and easy to get to, but the property was far enough away from town. On the weekends you can hear the race track, if that is something you're concerned about. We had a great time and we are so happy we found this place for our vacation!

Great hosts who ensured we had everything we needed. The home included everything you could imagine so we only provided our food. A/C and ceiling fan made for comfortable sleeping in warm summer heat. Sunrise from the deck was pretty great. Lots of parking and dock space. Fish cleaning shack was convenient. Full amenities in the kitchen and the fire pit was great for smores. Kids enjoyed the fishing and we created some nice memories. Not crazy about the loud racing noise from Brainerd International Raceway, but it was 0800-2000 so we still found time to enjoy the serenity of lake life during our stay. Tons of activities and places to eat if you so desire. Every store you can imagine is only a few minute drive away. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the birds, ducks, geese, bunnies and chipmunk coming to the bird feeders. Saw a pair of bald eagles who stayed in a tree nearby which was spectacular. Beds were very comfortable and the washer dryer were top notch.

Brainerd Experience

The many positives of this VRBO listing include excellent communication with the host - Sue even checked with us a day or two into the vacation to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is well stocked with the necessary items. It is spacious and very clean. We enjoyed using the gas grill for a few meals on the deck. The lake has a sandy bottom and the water is clear. Due to the draught, the water level was very low, but we still enjoyed floating on the nice water lounge chairs and the big inflatable flamingo provided by the hosts. The low water level and sand make this perfect for a family with small children. The one negative is that our vacation was during the same time as the National Hot Rod Association's "Nationals." This four-day event (plus prep and tear-down days before and after) was very loud with the roar of engines and live music after the races ended. If you love racing, or are attending "Nationals," this is the perfect place to stay - complimentary tickets were provided. If you prefer peace and quiet, check out the NHRA race schedule and avoid the week of the "Nationals."

Great vacation home.

House was a great place for a family vacation. Had everything we needed, kids loved the beach, paddle boat and canoe. The house had plenty of room for our family of six. The TV in living room was big and nice TV in master bedroom, and plenty of board games for kids, also had a big front and back yard. House was in a nice location,, close to all the areas attractions. Had a great time and enjoyed our week in brainerd. Frideres family.

Wonderful Hospitality

Thank you Sue and Joe for your wonderful hospitality for our client. I did not physically stay at this location but set it up for a family who unfortunately lost their home to a fire, Sue and Joe were very understanding of the situation and provided a home away from home for the family.

My husband, mom, and I are new to VRBO and look forward to hosting you at our new cabin. I'm a soon-to-be-retired special education teacher and my husband has been in sales for over 30 years. Our 3 children love to fish and have found this lake to be full of walleye, northern and other panfish. A large lake with shallow beaches for little ones to enjoy playing in the water.

Why they chose this property

This cabin has all of the amenities you need and more. It is within a 10-minute drive of Costco, Target, Cub Foods, yet once you arrive, you will be away from all the traffic and city life. It also is close to BIR if you would like to take in a race, a plethora of golf courses, restaurants, biking trails, miniature golf, many other lakes, and of course, shopping. If you have been to Brainerd, you know that there are almost too many things to fit in just one week! We are about 10 minutes from the wonderful shops of Nisswa!

In addition to the main cabin, we now offer an additional two-bedroom guest house for rent along with the main cabin. It can sleep 4 more people, making a total of 11 people at the property. Inquiries through VRBO. Complete with a kitchen, bathroom and family room.

What makes this property unique

So much area for the little ones to spend hours building castles and spending hours in the sun! There are 3 large bedrooms, enough to sleep 7. There is a lot of grass space so bring your yard games and a large deck overlooking the lake. It is handicapped accessible, has a 0 elevation to the lake. We have a full-size washer/dryer to use.
