Very Relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s in walking distance of Rum Point and a short drive to Kaibo Beach and Starfish Point. We would definitely stay here again. The home is very well equipped with every utensil you need.

We had an incredible time. The house was perfect! Right on the beach exactly as the photos showed. We both cooked and dined at local restaurants. Kitchen was very well stocked with high quality cookware, glassware and cutlery. Home was immaculate! Even had a basin to rinse the sand off your feet when you exited the beach. We had to call for service on one of the AC units. They were there within 2 hours to repair it and came later in the week to check it. The owners and host really thought of everything. They left a fabulous binder with everything from restaurants to activities to grocery stores. Bathrooms were brand new with fabulous showers and all new fixtures. We loved it! We highly recommend it. And we would definitely come back.

Wonderful 2 bedroom 2 bath right on the water. A stones throw to Rum Point and Kaibo. Plenty of living space a a kitchen with everything you will need. We will be returning in fall. Enjoyed our stay.

Pros: The house had everything we needed. Including beach chairs, beach towels & noodle floats. A beautiful ocean view. Quiet clean neighborhood close to Rum Point. Cons: Fire alarm went off the first day. We messaged host but there was a slow response. The second bedroom/bath door was locked. We are unsure why when we rented a 2 bed/bath. Luckily it was just my spouse & myself.

Moon Glow was fantastic!

Wonderful property that's well maintained and squeaky clean! There's not anything you could want during your stay in this beautiful house that hasn't been thoughtfully provided. The beachfront location is breathtaking and enjoying coffee and cocktails overlooking the ocean was a highlight of our stay. We loved the vibe of Rum Point, the Rum Point beach club and Kaibo. A car is a must if staying on this side of the island - we enjoyed a few trips out East (eat at Tukka's) and to Georgetown/West Bay. A terrific home base for a great family vacation. Thank you for your hospitality!

Family Vacation

This was our third trip to the Caymans and by far the best. We absolutely loved the location of this rental at Rum Point. We had a clogged drain and maintenance was there within hours. Karen helped me with logistics and renting a car. The entire team for this rental is extremely nice and professional. We loved snorkeling outside the resort. It was absolutely beautiful. We ended up renting snorkeling vests for safety at Rum Point. I can't say enough about this rental, the team, and it's location. We will definitely be back!

Rum point respite

A lovely quiet, private home. It was 90% newly rennovated & well equipped with spectacular views, & within 20 yards of good snorkeling. Quick walk on the beach & you're at The Rum Point Club (if that's your thing). We bought groceries at Kirk's & good rum, choosing to cook & enjoy this fabulous house. But we drove a bit to Calypso Grill for a lovely anniversary dinner...highly rec.Had lunch at Eagle Rays & always love the local ladies at the Caboose!We appreciate the care & love put into this house. Perfect for 2, or 4...

The home was beautiful and very well stocked. Panoramic views are amazing. It was within walking distance to Rum Point and a nice pier for entering the water. We swam everyday and the snorkeling was great. We snorkeled in front of the home and we also swam out to the reef on multiple occasions. We became scuba certified on the trip too! The host was very communicative and the property manager, Roy, was very nice. Check in and check out were both a breeze. It is quite a drive to the other side of the island but we did it many days for the scuba training. Our only complaints would be that the beach was dirty. Lots of garbage on the shore and pieces of glass (we picked them up). There are also a ton of mosquitoes. Vicious mosquitoes day and night. It made it very difficult to sit outside. We managed most days for breakfast but overall it was not enjoyable to sit outside on the beautiful patio due to the mosquitoes. We tried multiple repellants but nothing seemed to work. Good thing the home has such beautiful views from inside!

More than ample room for my husband and me!

Beautiful home right on beach. Everything was clean and had ample space. The weather was perfect, February is a great time to vacation here. Caretakers were available to ask questions and recommendations. Wonderful house, Ideal location!

Everything about Moon Glow exceeded our expectations. Spectacular water views from every room. Enjoyed coffee and wine daily on the patio, up early for sunrise and walks on the beach.Everything you could possibly want in the kitchen and its was all brand new! Grilled lobsters one night and steaks another. Comfy beds, great quality sheets and towels. Location was perfect for us. Easy walk to Rum Point where we spent our days on the beach. Minutes to Starfish Point and Kaibo. Easy access to lots of boat, snorkeling etc excursions for those who want them. Great meals and vibes at Kaibo and Rum Point. . Chisolms Grocery well stocked and close by. Appreciate how responsive and informative the Property Manager has been. First class experience all the way around. We will be back!!

Amazingly beautiful view!From the start to end, the communication was excellent. Booking was easy and when I needed something, they promptly answered. Special thanks to meeting Roy. The house had everything we needed. From cookware, to towels. The place was spotless. The house was organized, beautifully decorated and inviting. The beds were firm, but very comfortable. The view waking up was breathtaking. The property was also very private. We felt like we had the beach and area all to ourselves. The outdoor had plently of seating, whether we were eating, sunning or relaxing. The outdoor shower was extremely convenient and utilized daily. And did I mention the view? Stunning! When we weren't exploring the Island, we spent most of time relaxing, looking at the view and listening to the waves crash on the beach. That never got old.We did have to walk out a little to swim, but it wasn't an issue. Plus we snorkeled the reef right in front. Saw plently of different varieties of fish. It was wonderful. When we come back, I am staying here again.Thank you for a memorable trip and I look forward to coming back soon. Absolutely Stunning!

Best beach vacation ever!

Moon Glow exceeded our expectations. Communication with owner, agent, and property manager was excellent from beginning to end. The home itself was lovely and we really liked the bathroom remodels. Astounding 180 degree view of the beach and ocean from the living room, with near-similar landscape views from both bedrooms.This was our first visit to Grand Cayman and we quickly realized that Rum Point was the perfect choice: quiet, peaceful area away from all the commotion and hubbub of SMB area. Several restaurants and water excursions nearby, but our favorite restaurant (Tukka’s, be sure to ask for Tito!) was an easy 20 minute drive to East Bay.We were conditioned beforehand to think we might have to pay for a guided tour for a quality nature experience. However, the very first afternoon of snorkeling from the beach at Moon Glow, we saw the first of many sting rays. In the days that followed, we saw cuttlefish, sea turtles, a moray eel, and a nurse shark! Our group took a picnic lunch to nearby Starfish Point. And the bioluminescent bay is literally across the road from Moon Glow. At the suggestion from a friend (Thanks, Karen!) we did pay for the Cayman Kayaks BioBay tour with Captain Tom. It was definitely worth it to learn all about this unique natural-occurring event, plus we avoided any unpleasant encounters with this particular bay’s abundant jellyfish. We unreservedly recommend Moon Glow!

This is a great on the beach house within 4 min of a beach walk to Rum Point club. House is well appointed for cooking (no ice maker). Host manager & maintenance respond to any minor problems quickly (Roy was very helpful & nice).If you like to snorkel and don't want to be on a boat , this is the place for you.There is an abundance to see out front insidecthe reef. Lots of building nearby but you truly don't hear it as the house is solid.Highly recommend Kirk's grocery for grouper. Chisolm's locally is extremely well stocked if you need anything. Rum point club is fabulous if you have kids - open to public & has bathroom & showers.Rum pt club is about as good as it gets for fresh food and fabulous service. Super nice wait staff. Shout out to Godwin & Jay. Make a resv for dinner, it gets busy at 6:30 with arriving boats.Go have fun!!

All the deck furniture was worn and some missing. The Table out side showed 4 seats but there were only 2. having 4 chairs was very important for our group to be able to eat out side etc. When i called to get more was told no additional chairs are on order. The rest of the wicker furnature was old and the bends of the wicker and broken and were sticking out. They were sharp and you had to have a towel down. The beach had a high build up of seaweed and nobody was cleaning it up. I have to phone and get them to provide a rack so I could clean it up. On previous VRBOs in the Turks they came regularly to clean up the beach.

If you want a spacious, high-end retreat on the North Side near Rum Point with total privacy and zero crowds, this is it.The House: The layout was perfect for us. Both primary suites feature King beds and private en-suite bathrooms. The living and kitchen areas are incredibly spacious and beautifully furnished—it felt like a true home, well-stocked with essentials.Cleanliness: Immaculately spotless upon arrival; even the beach area was perfectly raked.Outdoor Living: The massive deck has ample high-quality furniture, and we loved having the provided beach furniture for the sand.Snorkeling & Views: A dream for water lovers! We were only 4–5 houses from the Cayman Kai public beach entry. The underwater life was staggering; we saw turtles, rays, eels, nurse sharks, lobsters, and countless fish. The sunrises from the house are fantastic, and a 5-minute stroll is all it takes to catch a breathtaking sunset.Location & Activities: Unbeatable convenience. We were minutes from Rum Point and Red Sail departures for Stingray City and Sunset Cruises. Don't miss the Bioluminescent tour! We enjoyed incredible meals at Tukkas, Over the Edge, Kaibo, La Casita, David’s, Tides, and the Italian Kitchen.This home is the perfect balance: a private, quiet sanctuary that is still "really close to everything." My family has been making sweet memories at Rum Point in Grand Cayman for over 45 years. Our permanent home is in Kentucky, USA. My sister, Anita Miller, and I own and operate So Serene and Moon Glow next door.

When our parents first visited Cayman, they were brought to Rum Point by boat and there was no internet, technology, A/C or modern conveniences. Our fondest memories are of discovering the sea, game nights, reading books, and making new friends. We have seen lots of developments on the island, persevered though hurricanes, rebuilt, and always strived to be a thoughtful neighbor and help others who live full-time on the island.

Cayman really is a special place, especially the Cayman Kai/Rum Point area. We are delighted that you are considering a stay with us or have already made a reservation. Why So Serene for us?

When our family first discovered Cayman in the 1970's, our first vacation villa in Cayman was a 2 bedroom timeshare unit at the old Cayman Kai Resort. A number of years later, our parents purchased the current property and in 1991 designed and built So Serene. In 2000, we purchased the villa next door, Moon Glow.

This particular stretch of beach on the oceanside has always been special. While the sands shift, heading towards Rum Point to the west, there is a nice, clear area to walk free of coral and iron shore line. Also, the swim to the reef is easy to make and the marine life is incredible. All of the waters in front are apart of a protected marine park; so, it is like you are swimming in your own tropical aquarium. Do not be surprised to see sting rays, lobster, schools of fish, octopus, and crabs.

So Serene is the closest, rented oceanside villa to Rum Point. Along the road, it only takes 5 mins. to reach one of the most enjoyable areas on the island with lots to do.

When enjoying a stay at So Serene, you can pick a spot on the west side of the sundeck. From here, at just the right time, you can watch the moon rise over the sea and the sun set behind you. It is truly amazing. And, every clear morning, no matter where you sit, the sun rising over the sea looking eastward is so beautiful and a great way to begin each day.
