Our wooden yurt is a modern take on a mongolian classic. Enjoy living in the round with bountiful light from the sky dome and large southern windows. The yurt is nestled on a hill in the forest above the farm land. The large open space is great for families and groups. There are an extra large bean bag that big and little kids love. This space has a queen bed, two fold out chair beds, and 4 ibeds. The yurt is a world away, yet close to our organic homestead activity.
Kaluna Farm Retreat is our organic family farm. We love to share our home and story with our guests. This is a great place to come if you need to get away and would like to connect to nature on a beautiful farm. We are family friendly, and have young children of our own. Little and big kids alike have fun in the creeks, on our trampoline, and running around the farm. There is a fire pit and charcoal grill available for guest use. Guests should plan ahead and bring their own charcoal and firewood. Wood may be available for purchase on-site. Please confirm firewood availability with hosts.
Our gardens are open to your exploration, we just ask you to stay on paths and do not walk in our garden beds, the microbes thank you. A Sacred Spring where you can access water. We like to welcome and orient our guest to our farm. We enjoy sharing the story of the farm, and helping people plan their journeys into our beautiful mountains. We are next to the Talking Rock Nature Preserve which has miles of hiking and biking trails.

Hosts were friendly and helpful.
Housing was very clean. This rental is out in the woods and accessibility can be an issue as the final driveway is steep, narrow and winding. It is very quiet and pleasant however. Comfort could be improved with better seating and lighting and the on-demand water heater was inadequate for our demands. Wifi is ok but a bit slow. There is no TV which was fine with us. Altogether a fun, rustic stay.
The Yurt was an amazing getaway for our group. The property is beautiful and so was the family! It was freezing when we went but the yurt stayed cozy warm The fire pit was such a bonus. The Yurt had more than enough supplies for us including kitchen staples. It was also very clean. The Internet service was dependable as well. Many of us plan on going back with our families and we will definitely return for another girls trip in the fall.
My friends and I (6 adult males) rented the yurt for a weekend getaway. The yurt was a perfect place to get away from our phones and hang out. The large open space made for an awesome venue. We could talk, eat and play in the one location.
The hosts are fantastic and gave us everything we needed for an awesome weekend.
The Yurt is set back in the woods so you have privacy galore. It was a unique experience that I would love to do again. If you like photos there are plenty of spots to take great photos for lasting memories. We bought the sampler pack of fresh produce. It was picked on the morning we requested and my wife is cooking some right now. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and at home. I can recommend this place. be aware there is not a TV in the Yurt, which was great. it gave us time to read and relax...but if you are a TV hound you should be aware. The setting was beautiful and very quiet. Take time to explore the property...unfortunately we did not have time to do this and it is a regret.
I think you will enjoy your stay here and recommend it.
