Perfect Home and Perfect Location

Just finished a trip to the DC area and this home provides easy access via metro rail. Staying in Alexandria is like getting 2 vacation sceneries in one stop.On top of that, the home is very well appointed and the perfect size for our family of 4. The downstairs basement room is great for teenage kids to hangout.

Great place!

Wonderful residence! Great location! Had everything you would need, very clean, excellent area and steps away from King Street. Also, the beds were comfy and sheets were soft.I would stay here again!

We loved this place

We loved everything about our 5 night stay here: the location, the decor, the multiple bedrooms and the quality of sleep. It was extremely easy to get into Washington DC and back when we wanted to. The kitchen was stocked with every cooking utensil, dishes and spices that we could ever need. Communication with the host was excellent. We have nothing but positive feedback and would definitely return.

Perfect place in Old Town Alexandria

Great location and easy check in. Well appointed and clean. The kitchen was superbly stocked and the beds were quite comfortable. Parking was very easy. Highly recommend for a stay in historic Alexandria!

2 couples exploring Old Town Alexandria

We were amazed at all the upgrades this old house has. The modern kitchen has everything we could have wanted plus. The bedrooms and bedding were very comfortable and we were astounded at all the extras the hostess had on hand. Nice location right off King street.

Beautiful townhouse in Old Town

We had a great stay in this wonderful, nicely renovated townhouse in Old Town. It was wonderful to be able to walk to all the great shops and restaurants on King Street. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed.

Great location, comfortable property

We went with a group of couples and this property was great for a group of 6. It was very clean and comfortable. Everyone remarked on how comfortable the beds were. The basement area was good for gathering with comfortable couches and a larger tv. We also enjoyed spending time out on the patio, even though it was late February. The location is great, we were able to park our car and forget it for our stay. Check out process was very simple.

Fantastic place

This is an excellent place to stay, great location to waterfront and the metro station, easy to get in and out of DC. The host was fantastic to work with, ver responsive to questions. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. I can highly recommend this property.

Beautiful home!

This is a wonderful home in a great location! The space is very clean and updated. The owner is attentive and very nice, took a call from me on our first evening there to help me figure out the internet (our toddler monitor wasn’t connecting to wifi). She was so helpful and responsive. She even allowed us to extend our check out by 1 hour! Location is very convenient. It can get a bit noisy with sirens due to a nearby fire station, but my family mostly slept through it! The beds were extremely comfortable.

Beautiful home in perfect location

This property is amazing. The owner was responsive to all inquiries and booking as well as providing thorough check in instructions. The place was very clean with modern appliances and bathrooms. Including travel-sized toiletries was above and beyond thoughtful and hospitable. The location is fantastic and walking distance to many great restaurants and shops. Parking was easy to find on the street the whole time we were there.

One of the best places we’ve stayed.

Not a brag, just a statement of fact-we’ve stayed in a lot of VRBOs over the past decade plus, and this is one of the best. Staying here really made our vacation-if you can call it that when you’re retired. We were close to restaurants and retail, with a doable walk to the Metro. The renovated kitchen wanted for nothing, the beds were comfy, and the outdoor area was cozy. It was so nice to spend a day exploring, and come ‘home’ to this property, because that’s what it felt like. There are stairs, so keep that in mind.

Right off King Street Gem

We had a great stay at this wonderful home right off King Street. The location was great for a week trip to see the sights around DC. Not too far to the Metro. We caught the trolly several times but walked the whole street many times. The host was very quick at responding to our inquiries. The house was fully stocked in the kitchen and plenty of towels in the bathrooms. There was a cold snap while we were there and the two fireplaces warmed us up quickly. We appreciated the extra space in the basement to recover from our long days out. We hope to book again someday!

Perfect Location: Metro Access & Waterfront

This is one of the best rentals I've stayed at - the backyard space was beautiful (tons of seating), the fridge and freezer are spacious, and there's TONS of kitchenware. Beds were very comfortable. It was the perfect spot to take advantage of great weather the weekend of the Marine Corps Marathon. Loved that this was within a 15 minute walk to the King St Metro & 20+ minute walk down to the waterfront along King Street. Also within walking distance of Trader Joe's if you don't want to rent a car, but it certainly is a walk. Only downside was the sirens from ambulances going by throughout the weekend, for anyone sensitive to the noise. Would definitely recommend this location!

Outstanding Rental

I can’t say enough good things about this rental property. We spent the month of February 2023 here to escape the Northeast winter. The photos and description say it all. Beautifully outfitted, and the perfect location for exploring Alexandria, and just a 10-minute walk to the Metro and all that DC has to offer. Very comfortable beds and linens. Large well-equipped kitchen. Easy communications with the owner. Perfect.

Another wonderful stay in Old Town, Alexandria

My wife and I spent the month of February in 2023 and 2024 in this house as a midwinter escape from Maine. The house is beautifully decorated, outfitted, and maintained, just as shown in the photos. And the location can’t be beat, just a half-block off King Street, about 1/3 mile walk to the Metro and a mile down to the river. Fantastic place for walkers. We have not used a car while here, but have either walked, used the Metro, or Ubered everywhere. (There’s also the free King Street shuttle if you don’t want to walk.) The owner is local and very responsive to any communication or need. Only negative I can think of is the thin shared wall of this 19th Century wood-framed house means there is noise transmission between the adjoining houses, but it mostly amounts to some floor creaking when occupants in either house are moving about, something that didn’t bother us at all. We love staying here!

Far exceeded our expectations

This was a great property. The only possible down side was that it is close to a fire station but that was not really a deterrent. We were in town for a graduation and the property was spacious and accommodated us as well as having room for grand parents to come and visit. As a chef I appreciated the well equipped kitchen. Beautiful outdoor space was relaxing. Den / family room in the basement was great for the young adults and allowed anyone who wanted to turn in early a quiet space upstairs. Then the neighborhood. Fantastic location close to everything. Danielle was amazing as the owner / host and always got right back to us. This stay spoiled us and set a new bar for future stays.

Great base for 7- day fall family trip

Perfect location. Safe and comfortable 10 minute walk to King Street metro for sight seeing trips to DC. Later picked up rental car at Reagan for trips around Virginia with no issues parking. Close to groceries, which allowed us to start each morning with a great breakfast in a high quality kitchen and perfect sized dining areas. Some days were so nice we ate outside. At night we either walked to eat or ordered from the wonderful local food options in Alexandria. Quiet neighborhood, well equipped kitchen, basement a great add-on feature for the family. Our group was parents, two boys 12 and 11, and grandparents. Highly recommend property and the owners. Very responsive to questions, like within seconds. Don't stay in a hotel, this property made our visit perfect. Thanks so much Danelle for helping to create a once in a lifetime trip.

Gorgeous home

This is a completely renovated 3 story 1880’s townhouse in the heart of Old Town. The location is fantastic. You are a short walk to the top of King Street, and close to the free trolley stops. The interior of the home looks like a page out of a decorator magazine. It is immaculate and beautiful. The mattresses are SO comfortable! If you like a soft pillow, bring your own. Linens are wonderful. Kitchen is well stocked. If stairs are an issue for anyone in your party, just know that the bedrooms are on the top floor, and the stairs are a little narrow, circa the age of the house. The only other difficulty is the parking. There is only street parking… and you have to be lucky or extremely persistent to get one close by. But that is expected, given your location so close to King Street. We would absolutely stay here again. Danelle was so helpful and responsive. Loved it.

Great Stay in Old Town Alexandria!!

We had a great time in Alexandria!! Danelle was a pleasure to work. The house is amazing, very well kept, clean and spacious for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenage girls). It's right off King street and a few minutes walk to the Metro (we did a day trip to the National mall). Tons of great eating spots. Check out Midnight Treats if you are looking for some treats for the kiddos! It recently opened the weekend of our arrival. It's a block from the house, all vegan ingredients, delicious huge cookies and shakes. Many great places to eat (we ate at a number of restaurants, all were great). The house itself was very modern, nice size kitchen with a view of the patio. Beds were super comfortable. This place was stocked with all you will need for a comfortable stay e.g. toiletries, linens, pots/pans, modern appliances (but with so many great places to eat, the kitchen got very little use, although it was nice to know we could cook a nice meal if we wanted too). We parked on the street and did not move the car the entire time. Danelle provided a parking pass for our stay. There are noise detectors in the house, we were a little apprehensive, but we carried on as normal and did not feel uncomfortable. We visited many of the Alexandria's museums and historic sites. We also spent sometime at the National Harbor, Georgetown, and Mount Vernon. If you are thinking about staying here, I highly recommend.

Prepare for a stay that over-delivers!

Danelle was a super responsive host from the day I made the reservation. Not familiar with the area-she offered restaurant recommendations. The photos of this place do NOT do it justice. It looks straight off of an HGTV show. Beautiful staging offers homey details like two electric fireplaces. So many upscale details; electric powered window covering for large patio, lovely patio with shade and comfy furniture, excellent coffee maker, lots of different gathering spaces with comfy designer furniture, no shortage of amenities that include all bathroom needs and plenty of towels and washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and other necessities. The kitchen has nothing like “leftover dishes and pans no longer needed by owner”. Everything is new, every shelf labeled, every kitchen accoutrement you could need for a private meal or festive dinner party. Pantry staples are abundant. Beds are divine. Despite being located behind a fire station, this home is SUPER quiet. Less than a block from King street, an easy walk gets you to the best local dining and shopping with plenty of options. Trying to reschedule for next stay. You can’t go wrong with this gem!! Thanks, Danelle!

Why they chose this property

This location cannot be beat. Old Town Alexandria was George Washington's stomping grounds. It cannot be beat for historical flavor. We are 1/2 block off of King Street - Old Town's main thoroughfare, so there is no end to the number of restaurants and shops in walking distance. We are a 7 minute walk to the Metro and Amtrak stop and a 12 minute drive to the airport. We knew this house would offer our guests everything they could want in walking distance with easy access to Washington, DC sightseeing.

We spent the winter having this home renovated. Almost everything is brand new and completed with guests in mind. We love the 1880s charm and the modern luxury.
