About this property
Carson Cabin: Modern + King Beds + Winter Retreat
Welcome to Carson Cabin! This cozy mountainside cabin is nestled in the Upper Red River Valley, which is surrounded by Carson National Forest at 9,100 ft elevation. Just minutes from the town of Red River, you have access to shopping and dining, while enjoying the peacefulness of the mountains in a beautiful cabin.
Located in the Enchanted Circle, there are endless opportunities to explore and have fun all year long! You can hike, fish, ride, and/or bike during the spring, summer, and fall months or take advantage of some of the best snow sports in the country all winter. If relaxing is more your vibe, Carson Cabin is the perfect location to sit on the deck and watch a mountain sunrise while enjoying a cup of joe.
The Space
Carson Cabin has everything you need to enjoy a trip to the mountains. Words can’t describe how relaxing it is to wake up and gaze out the windows looking out at beautiful trees and mountains on the horizon.
This is a 3-bedroom / 2-bathroom mountainside home with a well-stocked kitchen and everything you need to cook for a family.
LIVING
Carson Cabin’s living area provides a place to unwind and relax after a day of fishing, hiking, shopping, skiing or whatever adventure you find yourself enjoying. The living area is furnished with a sofa, recliner, and two accent chairs positioned around a rock fireplace. There is H-D Smart Roku TV with access to your favorite streaming shows, as well as a selection of family card/board games.
KITCHEN & DINING
Carson Cabin’s kitchen is fully stocked and includes everything you need to cook for a family. It features a range cook-top and oven, dishwasher, microwave, pots, pans, blender, toaster, crockpot, coffee pot, coffee grinder, Keurig and much more! Whether you are fixing a light meal or a full family dinner, you will find everything you need! Sit down to eat at the kitchen nook dining table or the picnic table outside.
BED & BATH
We have 3 private bedrooms, two downstairs and one upstairs. Each bed features blackout curtains and USB/chargers on each nightstand. Downstairs king bedrooms both have new Serta memory foam mattresses. The hall bathroom has a tub/shower combo and the suite in the Bear Room has a stand-up shower.
• Bear Room - King suite with private bathroom
• Trout Room - King
• Bathroom – downstairs
• Trail Room – Queen, upstairs
LAUNDRY
Carson Cabin comes equipped with a washer/dryer center for your convenience. Laundry detergent is not provided.
PARKING
In addition to driveway parking, the circle drive provides enough space for 3-4 vehicles or a trailer carrying all your favorite mountain toys. During winter months, when there is snow or ice on the ground, the driveway should not be used for parking out of an abundance of caution.
NOTE: The last mile of the drive is via dirt roads. Cars and sedans will have no issues accessing the cabin during warm weather months. However, all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicles are needed during the winter (snow chains may be necessary in extreme conditions). Winter weather in New Mexico can be unpredictable, so please prepare accordingly. Please also note that all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended in the spring (April to early May) when roads can become muddy due to the snow melting.
OTHER SPACES & FEATURES

About the host
Hosted by Chris and Lacie Wilson
We are the Wilson family from Edmond, OK! Lacie's family has been vacationing in Red River for multiple generations and Chris was introduced to the area while we were dating. Fast forward a few years and we now take our two daughters! We enjoy all things outdoors, including stream fishing, hiking, and horseback riding in the summer and fall, and skiing in the winter. We also love playing games and spending time in the cabin together. Nothing beats dinner cooked on a charcoal grill followed up with s'mores for dessert!
We truly hope you enjoy your stay! Welcome to Carson Cabin!
