Our Favorite Place in Hawaii

Honestly I want to keep this place all to myself!! We’ve been to Sugar Beach Resort a few times. We love the slower pace and quiet beach. It is so nice to be able to see the water while cooking. We walk to get shave ice everyday. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. This condo is now our favorite!! The perfect location and it has everything we need for a relaxing vacation.

Lovely condo w/the BEST Beach access

This condo couldn't be more ideal for anyone looking to submerge themselves in the sand and sun! Having Washer/Dryer in the unit makes for light packing and close proximity to the BBQ area was ideal!

First time in Kihei

This condo was perfect for our family of four! We chose the ground floor specifically so our kids could go play on the lawn and even enjoy the beach while we had eyes on them if we were in the condo. Kitchen had mostly everything needed minus salt, pepper, and cooking spray. We left ours behind for the next guest! Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus since we stayed for 10 days! The resort was in a great location and the grounds were beautiful. However if you have kids there’s strict pool rules (no jumping, no floaties, no loud noise, etc) be aware! We ended up having a blast and we were sad to leave.

Great location, but lack of quality.

Condo was poorly equipped with stuff for the kids. It wasn't the cleanest and could use an update, especially with appliances. Missing pride of ownership.

Ocean view was wonderful

Location was great next to bbq, pool, hot tub and sauna. Loved hearing ocean waves every day and watching canoes/rowers go by. Basics were inadequate—toilet paper, detergent for laundry and dishwasher. Dishes and utensils were ok but not even salt and pepper was provided! Worst was dirty linen on bed when we arrived. Liked the number of towels, beach umbrella, Wi-Fi and free phoning home.

Clean, comfortable but a little bit lacking

We’ve stayed at Sugar Beach before. We love the location. This condo was good, but not as nice as other units we have rented. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was pretty well equipped. A few things to know - the dishwasher is older and doesn’t clean very well. We ended up washing dishes by hand. Another quirk is the dryer vents into the shower. That duct needs a serious cleaning, given that it spits lint and sand into the shower when the dryer is used. One last thing to note is, unlike most Maui rentals, this unit includes no beach chairs or beach toys for kids (towels and an umbrella were supplied). Overall, it’s a good spot but I would suggest you look at your options. It’s a solid option, but we’ve enjoyed other units more.

Hi, Robert! We're glad you enjoyed your time here and apologize if some aspects disappointed you. Beach chairs are available for rent at Maui Sights and Treasure located on the premises. The dryer vent is cleaned out regularly, but sand and lint will vent out into the shower if guests don't empty the lint trap between loads. Thank you!
