The surrounding countryside offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. Aboda Klint boasts impressive views, a swimming spot, walking and running trails, a barbecue hut and a small café. At Långehäll, near Blomstermåla, you’ll also find mountain bike trails and lovely running routes.



For a relaxing day by the Baltic Sea, head to the beaches around Mönsterås, where you can enjoy the lovely coastal atmosphere. The picturesque walking trails around Oknö, Lövö and Timmernabben are ideal for exploring the region’s varied natural landscape on foot. In Timmernabben, it’s well worth visiting the local fish smokehouse and restaurant, which is renowned for its salmon and other regional specialities.



Discover Kalmar too, with its shops, restaurants and historic castle. From there, the bridge leads to the popular island of Öland, which delights visitors with its beautiful natural surroundings, varied attractions, good restaurants and inviting beaches. You should also visit the Swedish Glass Kingdom with its numerous glassworks, including Kosta and Målerås. Families can enjoy a fun-filled day at Astrid Lindgren’s World in Vimmerby or at one of the region’s moose parks.
