Enjoy panoramic views of Saratoga Passage and Camano Island across the water from the back deck, the grassy lawn, and almost every room of this beautiful, oceanfront cottage on the shores of Whidbey Island. Built on a high bluff in 1947 and gorgeously updated since, this single-level home features both modern and classic elements of design, including beamed ceilings, exposed brick, and large picture windows that run the length of the house.
Whether you choose to spend your days walking on the beach (accessible down the road) or perusing the charming shops of downtown Langley, you'll have ample space for relaxation when you return home. There's an oceanfront living room where you can curl up to watch for orca pods and the occasional grey whale; an adjacent nook with a selection of puzzles, books, and games to enjoy; and a sun room where you can have one eye on the flatscreen TV and the other on the bald eagles soaring over the backyard. The kitchen is open and breezy, offering stainless steel appliances, subway tile backsplash, a spacious island with bar seating, and a dining table for six - all with a commanding view of the water.
Just beyond the sliding glass doors are the inviting deck and backyard below, where you can sip your coffee at sunrise or enjoy a glass of wine at sunset, since both are visible from this property. Grill in the ocean air and then sit down for an al fresco meal. Additional amenities include a large main bedroom suite with a private bathroom and a desk workspace, free WiFi, a washer/dryer, and both a booster seat and a Pack 'N Play for the little ones.
This waterfront home is located in the tranquil community of Baby Island Heights on the east side of Whidbey Island, on a high bluff with approximately 75 feet of frontage. It's an area of the island - seven miles northwest of downtown Langley - known for its black-tailed deer population. To access the private beach, you need only walk up the road and down the hill to the right; once you're there, you'll likely catch a glimpse of the harbor seals that are known to frequent the area. Please keep your distance from the beautiful wildlife both on and off the beach, admiring the seal, deer, and eagle population from afar.

We had a beautiful stay. We loved the view, the well-stocked kitchen, the back porch, the beach access and many places to sit and look out the window. The place was cleaned well, but there was a bit of dog hair that seemed to get kicked up the more we walked around in that the longer we stayed, the more dog hair seemed to appear.

Beautiful and tastefully-decorated home. Amazing views. Plenty of cookware in kitchen. Comfortable with lots of spaces. Clean. Quiet. No Internet. TV was difficult to manage. Need instructions for usage and what is available to visitors.

Super dirty. Super expensive.
The actual house, grounds and views are stunning. The community was amazing. The house was really dirty - dog hair, sludge in the bathroom drains, dribbles in the kitchen and dirty dishes. We won’t book this house again.

House, grounds, views and community are amazing. The house was super dirty, WiFi dropped every 15 minutes or so. Not worth the price point - mostly because of how filthy it was.
This home was so adorable. I loved the entire place. The view is of water and sky for miles. The kitchen is elegant yet cozy. So many places to sit, snuggle with a book, and look at the amazing view. I had the most peaceful getaway. Thank you!

Special Place
We took our kids and were looking to decompress with them and boy did we. We stared out at sea for hours a day trying to spot wildlife and reading and we weren’t disappointed. We spotted orcas from the living room on our last day, bald eagles, seals. Such a fun experience and this placed checked every box. They even had toys for the little ones, which was a nice touch.
Surrounding forrest and town of Langley were almost amazing. Highly recommend if you want to recharge your batteries bc we sure did and would go back tomorrow
Home was spacious, serene, with gorgeous views and a family of Bald Eagles in the nearby trees. Home is well stocked with anything a family or couple might need. The kitchen is one of the most complete kitchens we have enjoyed. We were notified before our reservations that we would not be able to use the oven due a recent problem with maintaining oven temperature. The management team was very responsive to our requests and provided us with a portable oven to use which met our needs. The home has a large front yard fully fenced and backyard also fully fenced which our dog Maggie thoroughly enjoyed. This is our 4th stay along the Saratoga Passage. For us, we have found the home we will be coming back to for our frequent visits to Whidbey Island.

House is in a perfect location and the views are breathtaking!
Pros:
Location
Extremely well equipped kitchen
Plenty of sitting and lounging areas
Fenced yard for dog
Cons:
Cleanliness - dog hair everywhere, bathrooms/showers with mold and gross caulk, bathroom rugs not cleaned
Bed and linens extremely uncomfortable(needs to be addressed! Not the only review with this sentiment!)
Trash bins were full upon arrival
No exterior lighting at entrance of property - walkway dangerous (solar lights were ineffective)
No mention of stairs to property in listing
Remotes missing batteries - had to go out and replace

Great family retreat!
The house is very comfortable and well furnished for our family of four plus, one dog! The view is wonderful and the house feels private even with neighbors close by. The house is sunny most of the day as it sits perched on a bluff on the Northern tip of South Whidbey Island overlooking Saratoga passage. When tides are low the community beach down the road becomes more accessible to be able to reach Baby Island. It is very peaceful and quiet, a great respite with plentiful wildlife. We enjoyed the neighborhood deer family, saw dolphins, seals, and osprey fishing! (The house is in need of a deep clean after a busy summer season. Since it is dog friendly it needs extra TLC, we stayed off season in mid September. It was also missing a cleaning supplies/dishwasher soap. The house cleaning support team could be more mindful of small details.)
Thank you!

Disappointed
We have rented dozens of homes on Whidbey over the past decade and this was the most disappointing experience. The view was amazing and the home well appointed, but it smelled of mildew and there was food (chips or dried cheese, maybe) and dog hair spread over the livingroom floor when we arrived. I texted with the management company multiple times over the course of the 3 day weekend without resolution. I was told a ticket had been created after we had checked out.Additionally, the listing is clear that the rental is for 6 people max overnight but upon checkin the instruction manual states that no more than 6 people can be in the house at a time and that there is a ring camera for monitoring. This strict and unexpected limit for daytime was very disappointing as my sister and her family had rented a house down the street and the 7 of us had planned on having dinner at the rental for my birthday. The management company had no flexibility when I texted with them, but luckily my sister's rental was welcoming.

Beautiful views + perfect location
This is a beautiful house in an amazing location both for people interested in going to Deception Pass & also for those interested in exploring Langley.
The house itself has the most amazing views of the Saratoga passage and everything inside the house is wonderful and clean. It’s very well decorated and has a great kitchen to provide for all needs.
One of the biggest selling points was the fully fenced-in backyard which was perfect for my dog, and the front yard is enclosed too so you don’t have to worry about pets running into the road.
Absolutely loved everything about the stay here & will definitely be back.
Wonderful place to spend quality time in a beautiful serene environment, both inside and out! Deck was fabulous for relaxing and watching sunsets. Home was very comfortable!! We’ll be back. Thank you!
