About this property

Studio City Luxury Home close to Universal Studios and Hollywood

Located minutes from Universal City and other major studios, this single level totally remodeled 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home is in a quiet, upscale, family neighborhood yet close to shopping, great restaurants and local nightlife.

There is also the option of adding a 3rd bedroom which is attached to the main house which could then accommodate 11 people altogether. There is an additional charge for adding the 3rd bedroom. (please see rates information)

The main house is approximately 1900 square feet plus an additional 1000 square feet in the attached 2 bedroom, 2 bath guest house (Listing # 239789), which can be rented separately or opened up to comfortably accommodate larger family groups of 13-15 people.

We are conveniently located to all that Los Angeles has to offer. Freeway access a few blocks away.

We are close to many of the major studios, Universal City entertainment complex (featuring Universal Studios & City Walk, Universal Amphitheater concert venue, multi-theater complex, shops & restaurants), NOHO Arts district and metro-rail station to Hollywood, (walk-of-fame, Graumann's Chinese Theater & Kodak Theater, home of the 'Oscars') and to downtown, Disney Concert Hall, (Frank Gehry's architectural masterpiece), charming Olivera St, Chinatown etc.
Hollywood Bowl, Ford Theater, Griffith Park hiking and riding trails, LA Zoo and Griffith Observatory are also just minutes away.
15 minutes drive will bring you to trendy Melrose Blvd shopping, and a few minutes more to the middle of upscale Beverly Hills. LACMA and Getty museums are also within easy reach.
25 minutes to the beach at Santa Monica & Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach boardwalk and another 15 minutes further up the coast to Malibu.
Disneyland is south of downtown LA, about 40 mins drive from our location.

Ladies weekend

3 over- 55 ladies enjoyed the house rather than renting 3 separate hotel rooms. Kitchen was well -equipped for quick lunch or snacks. Had small surprise with workers with ladders arriving early first morning for repairs. Overall it was a nice house in a good neighborhood, close to all we wanted to see or do. Would recommend it.

Family gathering in Valley Village

This home was a perfect place for my husband and me to entertain our LA son's family. They have a 2 1/2 year old son and a new baby just two weeks old. They came over for dinner two evenings, and our older grandson loved running around the back garden and exploring all the hidden hiding places. The baby was the centerpeice on the outside table with its large umbrella - his eyes wide open as he listened to the outside noises and felt the gentle breezes. The home was so well appointed, the beds very comfortable and it was wonderful having fresh fruit and coffee available. The description and pictures are accurate except the kitchen chairs were different. We stayed in the main house. If we are able to have our Seattle son and 2 children join us on another visit, we will defintiely try to have the house and guest house as well. It would be perfect to have togetherness with a bit of separation!

Impressively Relaxing

A magnificent property, which felt secluded & tucked away in a great neighborhood. Easily fit 4 adults & 3 kids w/ the sleeping arrangements & spacious layout for 4 nights. Unfortunately we did not have an opportunity to spend much time in the home due to active day plans. Yet the drive "home" to re-charge our batteries was nice. I would highly recommend this experience including the professional interaction w/ Ms. Walker & staff. They are prepared with quite a few options & suggestions for your stay. I am planning on using them at a moment's notice if needed with total confidence in another wonderful experience.

Beautiful Home! Much more than we expected.

The Hartsook home was the perfect vacation rental. My family of 6 needed a rental home close to my daughter's wedding venue and we were so fortunate to find Hartsook! Helen's home had everything when it came to meeting our needs. In fact, everyone fell in love with it and hated to leave. The rooms were large, comfy and warm - beautifully decorated. The gardens were soothing with several fountains - I wish I had more time to sit back, relax and enjoy the birds that took full advantage of the tranquil setting. The kitchen came fully stocked as did the bathrooms. We bbq'd one evening and enjoyed sitting on the lovely patio in this quiet neighborhood. (For those using a car service, note that for some reason cars pull up to home near back carport) I highly recommend this home. Hope you enjoy as much as we did. And yes, they are living happily ever after!

Perfect Property for the Perfect Vacation

The Hartsook property was super! It was very clean and had nice up to date appliances. It had lots of space and we appreciated it being in a lovely, quitet neighborhood as we were headed to bed by 7pm most nights being from the east coast. It provided us with all the space and amenities to make it a perfect place for three of us. The property is beautifully decorated and great thought was given to the small things one might need (from luggage racks to beach towels). We loved having the washer/dryer and being able to pack less so that we could shop more! If you stay, be sure to read about the history of Mr. Hartsook in the visitor binder. The sound of the water fountains were pleasant and we enjoyed the yard as well. I will confess that we were over the moon to have a lemon tree in the backyard! Helen and Diana were terrific to work with! We planned this trip just weeks before our stay. They were extremely responsive in answering all our questions and working with us as we scrambled to get flights. We had two minor issues during our stay which they rectified immediately (when the previous renter took the remote to the garage, they got us a replacement within 1/2 day). Their willingness to help create the perfect vacation cannot be understated - thank you ladies - particularly during a holiday week! We loved working with you and will definitely be coming back.

My home away from home

This was the second time that we stayed at Hartsook house and it certainly will not be the last. It's very spacious, has an amazing garden to relax in and is in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to Universal Studio and the freeway to be able to get everywhere. Helen is an absolute joy to deal with. Looking forward to being back in the summer.

Feels Like Home

My family and I arrived on Monday, July 27, 2015 to a gorgeous home that is obviously cared for with love. There was an awesome welcome basket on the kitchen counter which included; fruit and cookies. The bedrooms are beautiful with very clean bathrooms and the entire house was spaciously decorated with care. There were also plenty of extra towels, throws, and most any other regular convenience that you would have in your own home. The Welcome binder provided much needed information about popular attractions as well as details about the local area. We had dinner at a local Thai restaurant that was recommended in the Welcome binder and the food was fabulous! Manager Helen, was very kind and helpful which made our vacation extremely problem free. Comfort Home in Studio City

My family was in town for my son's wedding and I chose this house because it appeared nicely furnished. When we arrived, we were not disappointed. This house was immaculately clean and furnished just right. The location from the freeway was about 1/4 mile and close to everywhere we needed to be. It's also nearby multiple stores for all types of shopping needs. Perfectly, situated near Universal Studios (3 exits) and a mile or two from Hollywood. There was complimentary fruit, and shampoo, conditioner and any other amenity was provided. No stone was left unturned. We were all very comfortable with our choice to stay here. Also, Helen provided good advice and was available each time we communicated. Excellent service.

If it was possible to give this a 10 star, I would. The house is lovely, comfortable, easily accessible, safe neighborhood, and the amenities are abundant. There were fresh flowers and orchids all over the house when we arrived, snacks, fruit and water and the kitchen is so well stocked with everything, including spices. The whole place is impeccably clean.Can't miss with this one.

We came to the house on Hartsook from Illinois to get away from the terrible Midwest weather. Last year we spend February in Florida and when we arrived it was filthy dirty with lots of problems. So, we were apprehensive upon our arrival here in Southern California. Our worries were quickly removed when we walked in to this beautiful house that was immaculate! The property manager went to great lengths to have the house just perfect for us (even had fresh flowers throughout the house!). This house has EVERYTHING! The attention to detail is amazing and we highly recommend staying here. Neighborhood is quiet, safe and close to everything. If we had to say something critical about our experience here it would be that there was not clock radios upon our arrival (big deal, hu?). Perfect

We were a group 16 people gathering in LA for a family wedding. We couldn’t have picked more perfect places to stay. We rented the main house and guest house plus Helen has another unit within walking distance of the Hartsook houses located Westbrook. I highly recommend any of these places; there was ample room so we weren’t all on top of each other. We liked to cook our own meals in the well-stocked kitchens; everything you could possibly need was there. Lots of fluffy bath towels, to the wonderful candles throughout made our stay like being at home. There are plenty of books to read, handy brochures to get you around town plus you are in a great location close to restaurants and grocery stores. These units are very homey with nice backyards for BBQ, I can’t say enough, this is the only way to go instead of a campy hotel, and they are clean and well managed. The only bad thing is we didn’t get to meet Helen in person. Oh and the personal touch of a welcome basket was awesome. Thanks so much Helen!

Wonderful LA Holiday!

My husband and I stayed in the Hartsook House with my parents over the Christmas break to visit my brother in Studio City. Everything about the house was great, but we especially enjoyed cooking Christmas dinner in the well stocked kitchen. We visited Venice Beach, Malibu, and downtown LA easily from the house. My only suggestion for the house is to get a stronger wireless router, so that wifi works better in the bedrooms. We would love to stay in the house in the future!

Beautiful home from home

My family and I (5 of us) stayed in this lovely spacious home at the beginning of December. It was absolutely perfect. Everything you could want for a holiday home. The home is beautifully decorated throughout and very comfortable and clean. It is close to Universal Studios and Warner Brothers and close enough to Disneyland. The drive isn't too far to Santa Monica beach. Very good position for us. There are plenty of books/brochures on the local area, attractions/shopping and restaurants for you to use. There are a lot of shops locally and a range of eating places. The kitchen is stocked well with food stuffs and a lovely starter hamper for when you arrive. The owner provided great customer service before we arrived, providing us with a huge amount of local information, responding quickly to emails with any queries, which was appreciated as we were arriving from Australia and never been to America before. I would definitely recommend this property to both families or couples.

Wonderfully appointed, cozy home

Incredible vacation / temporary home -- this truly is a gorgeously appointed home where every detail is thought of. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are plenty of linens for each of the lovely bedrooms. The backyard is beautifully manicured and privately fenced. Lovely neighborhood, very central. Highly recommend!

Charming Home!

We rented this home for a reunion celebrating an uncle's 100th birthday that lives close by. It far exceeded our expectations and provided a comfortable, inviting space for us to spend time together as a family. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with easy access to the freeways. Helen is a wonderful owner and was so accommodating to all our needs.
