Quiet old house 8 minutes from Chenonceaux

Ideally located just 8 minutes from the famous châteaux of Chenonceau and Amboise, as well as the Pagoda of Chanteloup, 30 minutes from Tours, and less than 40 minutes from ZooParc de Beauval, this accommodation provides the perfect base for exploring the wonders of the Loire Valley.

Nestled in a peaceful and green setting, Moulin de la Herserie is located in the village of La Croix-en-Touraine. This family-owned residence dates back to the 18th century. Flour was once milled here, and bread was baked on the premises. The original milling machinery is no longer in operation today.

The building is divided into three independent accommodations, each with its own private entrance. You will be staying in the WEST apartment, a spacious 88 m² property that can accommodate up to six guests.

A wide range of outdoor activities can be enjoyed nearby, including cycling routes, canoeing, kayaking, and more. Or simply relax and unwind in the beautiful countryside of Touraine.

During the summer months, several nearby riverside beaches along the Cher River offer excellent swimming opportunities, including those in Bléré and Montrichard Val de Cher.

The apartment features a large, bright living room with original exposed beams and stonework, as well as a fully equipped kitchen through which the accommodation is accessed. All appliances and furnishings are brand new.

Opening onto the living room is a cozy alcove bedroom furnished with a double bed (140 × 200 cm).

On the same floor, you will also find a bathroom with a toilet.

Upstairs, a second bedroom is equipped with a daybed that can be configured either as a Queen-size double bed (160 × 200 cm) or as a single bed. This bedroom has its own shower room and toilet.

Above it is a small mezzanine tucked beneath the sloping roof, showcasing the original exposed timber frame. It is furnished with two single beds (80 × 200 cm), particularly suitable for children.

All beds are brand new, as are the bed linens and towels.

The apartment benefits from its own private entrance, a semi-enclosed garden area for your exclusive use, and a dedicated parking space.

Just behind the house lies the pond that once supplied water to the mill. The path running alongside it is reserved for guests of the North apartment; we kindly ask that you respect its private nature.
