We never could find the place. There was a road, but it wasn’t marked and the neighbor was mean mugging us the whole time. So figure it belonged to them. Also, pictures on listing were not the room we got. We saw pictures with a yard but after paying for it, it was a different room. On the second level. Needs better signage to find the place.
I enjoyed my stay. The space felt a little cramped with so many chairs everywhere. I piled some of them up in a corner to make it feel more open. The place wasn’t cleaned super well. There was a pile of dust and sand that had been swept, but not cleaned up. Some of the dishes had food on them and needed to be washed before using, and there was a used dental floss pick in the nightstand drawer. My dog found leftover food from previous people to munch on. Thankfully it wasn’t anything that made him sick. I enjoyed my stay, but wish it was cleaner.
This is obviously an old building, so things need updating. The beds are god awful, chair was broken, and they need to hire a new housekeeper because the floors are disgusting! Like you have to wear your shoes 24/7 disgusting, but these are things that can be fixed, the room it’s self wasn’t terrible, it’s really small, so hopefully you wanna get close to the people you’re staying with lol there’s beach views but no access, it’s close enough to walk if you want or it’s about a 1 minute drive with a moderately sized parking lot. Big trucks beware you will not fit in the beach parking lot lol overall not terrible but needs some fixing up.
Off-the-beaten track, very vintage, views out over the pacific.
A hidden gem, rustic, yes, but a place that evokes a past era, when things were simpler. Is it stocked to the gills? No. Is it trendy? No. Is it stylishly furnished? No. But we don't look for all that in choosing a place. We look for something with heart, and the space, the fireplace, the off-the-beaten track and very vintage neighborhood setting, and the views out over the pacific, are what qualifies the Hideaway Suites. The place is under new ownership and the arrangements for the rental were not seamless, the owner/manager Karina is still fine-tuning things, but she went to great lengths to provide everything we were looking for and should be commended on her spirit of cooperation. We can't complete this review without mentioning Jason, who is the on-site caretaker, and take care of you he does. Outgoing, very thoughtful of the renters, resourceful, and a truly nice guy who we treasure meeting, and will again.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate any suggestions so we cam improve the property. We will be replacing carpets soon and will perform other improvements if needed to accommodate our guests.
The beach is a short walk but down a narrow road with blind corners and a big hill. Turns out there is public parking at the entrance so we opted not to walk and drive the 1 minute to the beach access, it felt safer. Even on a sunny 70 degree saturday we found parking spots, seems this beach access is somewhat less known and more local neighborhood feel. Beach was great and not crowded! The motel served our purposes for a last minute weekend trip, but it had some issues. Both the sofa bed and queen bed were worn out and noisy. Every turn or movement made an incredible noise! The bathroom may not have been fully cleaned since there was a bar of soap on the shower floor and a drain catch in the bathroom sink that had hair in it. The kitchen was fully functional and we made meals in all weekend which we enjoyed. Its stocked to the minimum but had what we needed to cook. Clean and new looking microwave and coffee machine. Nice big fridge. Its all rustic and worn furniture but its excactly as advertised. Also it was quiet, all weekend was peaceful, ever when the neighbors had a dog and a baby, we heard nothing from them. The beach can be seen from the deck and one window in the kitchen and we could hear the waves. The room served our purposes of being reasonably affordable and being the last thing available for a last minute booking. But I probably wouldnt come back because I know there are other places that have better value for similar amenities
Well….Our room wasn’t ready due to the prior renter who was an “extended stay” so they put us in another room for the first night! Once the “extended stay” resident moved out the caretaker said that he removed 15 bags of trash and he really needed to do deep cleaning! So the next day they wanted us to switch rooms once it was cleaned. We had plans so they wanted move all of our stuff for us…. No thanks! Once the room was finally ready we moved in! Rustic was the description… should have been disgusting. The carpet was soaking wet and stunk. Had to walk with shoes on all the time! The vinyl was sticky. The shower was freezing cold and the plumbing was ancient! The sink drained slow!
We were in such a hurry to leave we left a set of keys and a bag! We asked for it to be mailed in which we would pay for… but no that didn’t happen so we had to drive back to the coast to retrieve them! There are better options but not worse.

5 thumbs down
Description of this hotel as "rustic" and "vintage" is completely inaccurate of the actual definition. Our room was dirty, uncomfortable and broken furniture.
I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.
The property needs a little work, (the shower dripped continuously and bathroom faucet took a while to figure out how to turn it off). Don't come here planning to cook a big meal. Otherwise the location is superb, so close to a wonderful beach, and the beach is to die for. It was an easy place to have our dog. We are not into "fancy" so it was fine.

We just had a plumber assess and bid to take care of everything and correct the issues!
We had a very relaxing week at the property. Nice secluded location with a great view of the beach. Furnishings are a bit outdated and the bathroom is probably the smallest I have seen. But I would recommend the property and would stay here again.

The view of and access to the beach was wonderful! The suite was older, but clean and perfect for my needs, with lots of windows for letting in the fresh sea breezes. I hope to return again and again.

I was very disappointed when I arrived, motel 6 was better looking inside and out than this place and was very over priced to say the least. There was too much wrong with my stay to put on here. I will next time do my homework when looking for a place to stay.
