I loved this little cottage. It was very clean and had every amenity you would need. Next year I’ll be booking this place again as I really enjoyed it.
This is our 3rd year staying in this cottage and it is just right for our family of four. There is nothing fancy but all is just right. Super communication back and forth with the host. Thanks so much!!
I spent my summers here growing up, always a nice location to return to. The cottage itself is very cute with any modern amenities you may need. Very comfy.
Had a very relaxing stay at the cottage. The location is excellent. Very clean and had everything I needed. The host was very accommodating. Thank you for one of the best vacations I have had in a long time.
Great cottage just a short walk to the lake and right across the street from the park.
Very well equipped with everything you need and clean.
I had family staying at the hotel and said they would be renting this cottage from now on any time that they stay.
My son is already asking to go back!!!
We love this property. This was our second year in a row to be here for the week with our family of four. It’s just right for us. No frills or extras but very comfortable and sufficient. The location is ideal for us as our entire extended family stays in Oakwood Park for the week. The kitchen has any amenity that could be needed. We hope to stay again next year. Thanks again for another week.
We were looking for a small place near the lake for our small family (myself, wife and daughter). Clean, simple and on point with the description in the listing. Nice touches and some upgrades for an older cottage. It’s all we needed and very convenient to Oakwood Resort and the water. Would book again. Thanks!
Our overall stay was a pleasant! While the cottage was an older one it has been updated nicely. Very quaint. Perfect size for my husband and I. Location is great too. Just a very short walk to the water and to Oakwood Inn and very short drive in to town. Giving it a 4 star rating based on the parking. Room for only one vehicle which was literally right in front of the cottage blocking any and all views from the inside. Additional parking is on a side street which is fine with exception of the street being very narrow making parking a little tight especially if you have a larger vehicle. With that being said we would stay again.
I spent every summer of my childhood in Oakwood, so I know the cottage well. It used to belong to Rev. Ross Cook. My grandparents were George and Marie Cook (no relation to Rev. Cook) and they built the cottage at 1019 S Lake Dr. They worked at the old hotel every summer for decades. My dad also worked there during his teen years and so did I. I loved the view of the park. I spent so many happy hours there as a kid, and my granddaughters had just as much fun as I ever did. So, I am not your typical visitor. I was not looking for the excitement and rush of the modern world. I was looking for the simple quietness of lake life that I grew up with and this cottage provided that in spades! There is a sense of stepping back in time that was exactly what I needed at this time in my life. My son felt it too, because yes, he also spent the 1st ten summers of his life at Oakwood with my Grandma before she passed. There is only one thing I would suggest -- a microwave. I'm the only one who knew what the toaster oven was, but even I wasn't sure how to use it (haven't used one since the early 1980s) 😂. I highly recommend a stay in this cottage but you should do so with the intention of unplugging and enjoying the slow pace of lazy summer lake days. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We rented this adorable cottage for the weekend of our wedding. Our babies stayed with us friday night which was perfect with the park across the street it was a close walk to oakwood for wedding rehearsal, wedding. Etc. The bridal party got ready at the cottage and everyone commented how much they loved the cottage and how cute it was. Would definitely recommend.
This is a perfect, no frills property. We loved our week at the lake. We have been coming to the lake for decades but this was our first experience with this property. The owner was very responsive to our questions. We definitely hope to stay here again!!
The space was perfect for our little family. Super close to the Oakwood and Main Marina. Loved being so close to the park for the kid to play. Great space if you’re just coming and going through out the day.
Loved our stay at the lake. Our cottage was close to Oakwood, just a short walk down the street, so we could visit with other family members. We were also situated directly across from a playground. My three year old enjoyed all of his time on the swings and burned a lot of energy up. Very easy booking and checking process. Cottage had everything we needed. On site washer and dryer an extra bonus for bathing suits and beach towels. Highly recommend for anyone seeking close proximity to a public pier, easy family fun activities. Would book again.
