This home was perfect for our family of 5. It has the most wonderful rustic charm!! It is literally 0.8 mile from devil’s fork state park. It had everything we needed!! And a washer and dryer!! Buy a park pass and enjoy the lake!!

We knew we were not staying at the taj.Mahal, it could have been a little bit cleaner. The beds did not sleep well, very uncomfortable. I considered it glamping better than the tent, but not a real comfortable stay. Lake jocasee was beautiful that's the real winner of the area. Be prepared though there is no real restaurants or anything around the area, this is Pretty much camping what you bring in and stay.
If you appreciate original features in an old house this is the perfect rental for you. The house features original wide plank pine flooring, solid wood doors, orignial door hardware which is really cool, orignial timber beam door ways and a great front porch. Marshall has a comfortable set up and a huge tv which is great for relaxing after a day on the lake. There is wifi and dtv. The location is great at the far end of a public road so there isn't too much traffic noise and just short drive to the state park entrance. Marshall, the owner, is very accesible and easy to talk to. Great house! Thanks so much!
As usual, we had the most wonderful experience. Marshall you’re always so helpful!! We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait until we come back!!

Location was the best part
Marshall was friendly and responsive throughout the booking process and stay, which was greatly appreciated.
The location was great, parking was a little tricky for our Truck and Pontoon but doable. Not really a place to turn around, if traveling in normal SUV/Car then that's not going to be an issue, there is a driveway to pull in to.
The house itself was definitely quite a bit more rustic than anticipated, I washed dishes before using them because they clearly haven't been used in a while. Low ceiling in the bathroom. Hubby is 6' and felt a bit cramped especially in the shower. The floors were quite uneven throughout the dining area and kitchen.
Another note to future guests, no food/drink allowed in living room, guests are also required to clean floors before departing(cleaning fee paid upfront during booking). If you leave trash or dirty dishes behind there will also be a fee.
The bedrooms were really hot at night, only 1 ceiling fan in the room with the queen bed. The thermostat can only be adjusted temporarily. It made sleeping impossible for me all weekend.
I feel like the price per night is a little high considering the condition of the house.
The house was great, but we did find a couple of wasp in the house but other than that it was great, the beds were very comfortable and I would definitely recommend it to others
Location close to Lake Jocassee, and water access is perfect!!
House is older and exterior is aged, but interior has been fixed up with new flooring in areas and new granite kitchen counter/sink, which are nice. Ceilings low, especially in bathroom and shower/tub, for someone taller like me @ 6-4 ". Again, location to the lake is an overriding consideration here, as well as a quiet neighborhood , with a no through street.
We had the most amazing experience with our stay at this property. We explored Lake Jocassee all weekend and it was more than we could have ever imagined. Pictures just don’t do the lake justice. The house was perfect for our family. Marshall was unbelievably quick to respond to questions from the beginning and was so very helpful. Neighbors were wonderful as well, even Booger the friendly dog next door who visited us frequently! The kids loved that! We felt very safe and can’t beat the proximity to the lake! We will be back very soon! And I can’t wait. We made the best memories as a family on our vacation at Lake Jocassee.
Great place to stay!Very close to the lake and very comfortable. The owner is very accommodating.I left some clothes in wash machine and he promptly sent them home to me.If your looking for a peaceful time by the lake this is your spot!!
