About this property

Backyard Trails and Lake Hayward with Canoe!

New for 2021! Stay in one of the oldest homes in Sawyer County with private Lake Hayward frontage in your front yard and the Birkie trail, ATV and snowmobile trails in the backyard! You can hike, bike, ski, or ride the trails directly from the front (road) or back yard (trails). Plenty of parking. Cabin was completely renovated top to bottom in spring/summer of 2021. Enjoy serenity and northwoods feel but also close proximity to Hayward. (2 miles to main street) Canoe & life vests provided.

Cabin features original tongue and groove ceilings from 1898, but also has modern appliances in a full kitchen, wifi and a smart TV.

Three bedrooms are upstairs and the largest one boasts an outdoor porch. Downstairs you will find 2 bathrooms, the kitchen, another bedroom, the laundry room, and a living room with an electric fireplace and a large dining table for eating or games.

Very large yard and 3 acres you have all to yourself. Two docks and canoe for your use. Our lake frontage is not suitable for swimming but you can take the canoe out or just enjoy the lake views and songs of the red-winged blackbirds. Swimming is good at the Lake Hayward Beach, 1.5 miles away. Under 4 miles to Big Fish golf course and Hayward golf club.

About the host

Host profile image
Hi, we're Steve and Anna. We love being active and enjoying the outdoors. Northern Wisconsin is our escape to bike, hike, paddle, and cross country ski.

Why they chose this property

We saw the potential in a neglected house and wanted it to be enjoyed again. Renovation was a lot of work but we have a tremendous sense of accomplishment now! Plus Steve wanted a place where he could ride his mountain bike to the camba trails...

What makes this property unique

Where else can you paddle, cross country ski, and mountain bike right on/from the property?!
